The dark blue colour you mention under the carb/leaks is only the 2 stroke oil after the petrol has evaporated away

The fuel filter mentioned earlier is part of the fuel tap,it goes inside the tank.

Hi,i have a ty with no reg or v5,i contacted Yamaha Motor [uk] P.O. BOX 588 Sopwith Drive Weybridge KT13 3AL with frame & engine No and they sent me a letter stating year of manufacture, if you do,nt know the history of your TY it might of been registered in the past, you could try a seach at your local police station,you can then apply for a age related No plate.Good luck

On a similar thread,anyone know were to get a new[old style]cut down helmet?What i am after is similar to the pudding basin style that dos,nt cover your ears,in anticipation of a hot summer? Seen somthing like this on American Chopper.Cheers

Just a quick thought,50-1 = 100mls to 5 litres not 4.The mixture - 100mls to 4lts is 40-1.

Hi, Chippy,the black box you mention IS the coil.It is a stupid place to mount it,very easily damaged.There must be a better place for it on the bike,i doubt if it will mount back under the tank,Why would sherco move it in the first place if there was room?It is one small gripe on a otherwise great bike!I would not worry about it being a 05/06 hybrid,it just shows the bike is a true late 05 model.

Hi, definatly no bigger than 125,if he takes to trials and joins a club,i think i,am right in thinking at his age he would not be allowed to compete on any thing bigger.with a BMX background should take to it like a duck to water.Good luck,wont regret it.

My mate has one of those,i call it an 05 and a half!basicaly it is in a 4 stroke frame with the split down tubes.nothing wrong with that,but the coil is mounted in a very vunrable place,plus with the new shape tank he had trouble with petrol leaking from tank/petcock seal.

should have looked,but in the service manual[big sheet of glossy paper] it says the pilot jet IS 33 as standad.is this correct?
