Watched two of the 125's going round at the DK Mansell trial today, the sections were clubmen type routes (just nice, not over the top!) I must admit the little yam engine bike certainly didn't appear to be gutless. It was doing everything the other bikes were doing..no problem. The little lump sounded quite throaty too For Clubmen type riding (which is 85% of us!) I reckon this little beast seems to be top notch, the only downside is I was thinking of buying an SY250.....but now I'm not so sure

Just for the record why did Yamaha stop making trials bikes?? (the Scorpa isn't really a Yam is it, only the lump) Surely they must have sold loads of Aircooled TY's to make a profit, not sure about the TYZ though.

I've always used 200cc per 10ltrs of unleaded fuel (50~1), I notice the newer bikes seem to run allot leaner (some guy above 100~1 ratio ) My TY250 seems to like 50~1 and my Sherco seems to run ok too, if I was to lean it up a bit I'd be scared it would seize!! or am i just paranoid

Cheers for the info Enrico, I spoke to my dealer mate today and got some more info on the SY, he told that infact the bike in question is an 04!! (I feel a bit of a **** posting my first comments ) The bike was sold just after xmas, but the guy who bought it, received a major back injury just after he had it & has had to pack in riding. The bike was preped up but, never even ridden, so hence as new. Looking forward to my new toy

I know where your coming from Marky Boy, I would be planning on keeping the bike for a long while seeing as I would be pushing the boat out on the cash. But I guess if it all went tits up & I had to sell, I would get more for an 04 than an 03. As for the discount thing I'm a bit stuck there because I'm putting my Sherco in as P/X

The Trial today had no water in any of the sections!! but I did cover the airbox inlet up before I washed the bike and so far no water in the box, the real test will be a trial with a few streams thrown in. Bad news, I had to retire after only 2 laps due to the silencer splitting along it's top seam Some how I think me and Sherco's just wern't made for each other!!
