Hi Chewy, there is a guy on a 200 fantic (Captain Hook Trials team) who is missing his left hand. We has a clamp instead to hold the bars. He operateds cable clutch, cable front brake and throttle all with his right hand. I am sure he will be at exmmor in 5 weeks. If you want his details and want to talk to him, let me know

I made a 300 seat and a set of short side panels for a 300 woth classic
Trial tank. Tool me 10 hours and 50 quid in material.
125 quid is not toooo bad

not exactly "pro" caliber but the best riding ts trials.
Gerd rode twice now and thinks hes got the slippery rocks sussed. Ortwin still beat him first time out. Arnold, new kid will pro beat both...
Arnold 240 is not trick, its a shed. I would be embarresed to ride it and yet he still wins. Ortler has a std 300 with keihin carby. Gerd and I have modded 240 frames with 300 motors. I run a keihin, gerd a mikuni.
As you said, fun is what we want!
Gettin back to the thread, post some piccies cliff, I wanna see how much you lifted the front and what cuts and welds were made to the exhaust
speak soon
PS. I havent done yer kickers yet..

In 1978 I rode a TY175. In 1979, the 125 fanny beat everything. In 1980 i rode a beamish. The 200s beat everything. In 1983 I saw that the 240s beat every thing. in 1984, the ty mono happend and cleaned up. as far as Twin shock goes and at that time at National loevel, the fantics are the best.
These days, the sections seem easier 8I am told) at least we dont bend 240 frames like we did then.
Anyhows, IMO the fantic win handsdown. The 200 Minarelli was good enough then. the 240 can move my lardy weight a bit better and my small ego says I need a 340
pay yer money and take yer choice.
majesty/TLR/Jumbos are just not for me

a coil will either work or uit wont. If it misfires then change

If its your first time (pfnaw pfnaw) get a digi cam and take photos of everthing as you remove it. Costs depend on what you want to do. stainless spokes are about 55 quid a wheel, headbearings about 20, swingarm bearings the same. i expect 50 quid will gtet all sandblasted and about a 1000 for stoving. Fork seals will be about 10 quid.
-
i will keep yer posted on the cover. do the same on the flywheel please. there are loads of ducati sxstems out there and motoplatts or ducatis for 300s are few and far betweenb
-
I am sure they will fit and the spacing is the same...and I have the same plan as you. Ducati flywheel from a 303 or 305, turned down to fit inside and then a huge flywheel weight....already on the go

hoho its my mum, she was a cracker in her time. getting on for 75 now, she weight 19 stone and still rides a 30 monty gerty
ps, are we all sad old gits? one guy got 26677 reads and nobody told him how much fork oil to put in his fanny, er Fantic.....now this

Over here there was not cover. Tghe tank7seat unit included the tank. matey boy has no aluminium tank below his plastic tank and that is leaking. the 30 mio $ question now is, can you buy the alu tanks underneath. i didnt find it in the Sado M catalog!
-
have a rider here who needs a tank seat unit. Are they being remanufactured? shedworks and classic trial DONt make em. Anybody know something?
Thanks

Also strange ...nobody pays top dollars for a minarelli fantic. They cost the same to rebuild as a 240 or 340 (dont I know it) and then people want to pay 700 quid for one. My minarelli 200 ate 500 quid for the engine rebuild, has the all expensive 300 front brake so it stops, even has a GRP Tank and seat, and nobody wants it. I will get rid of my last standard 240 and ride the 200 because lets face it, they wiped out thze ossa 7yam/montesa/swm/ and bultaco brigade in 1980 and are just as good today.
I think these days the twin shocks trials seem easier than they did in 1980. cerntainly the damage I did to my 240 then is never likely to happen in todays stuff. Thats why people can ride yams and swms and win today. And at the end of the day, modern bikes depreciate to worthlessness very soon when you have to throw then a 1m high rocks. The twinshock stuff doesnt demand that, so it seems worthwhile restoringb them. The same is also true of aircooled monos if they survived this far.
The DT engine in that majesty will be fun but the bike could very well be ridden on the girls route at exmoor. Sometimes I think the sections could be ridden on a FSIE!

1500 is too much i think!

I think it is a yz side case. Will fit a ty without autolub gubbins

Originally I think a 24mm dellorto like the 125 minarellius. The 200 proffrs had a 25mm from a 240. later the 201 had 26mm i think. Dontb know about the screws,sorry

More or less. Smaller swing arm pivot and no flywhhel protect bar
201 is straight fit

are you sure you dont have a 241 motor?

It may be worth a try. I have a guy over here who is interesteed so we will find out. Problem isn they are not cheap to produce so would not be cheap to sell. It would need to sell at over 100 quid and for that money, people just use ebay.
