  1. Hi geordie, the oil volume is 500ml. The oil you choose is ok or try light gear oil. if the rubber boot available it will come from either bill pye or bob wright motorcycles i would use 60:1 f you ride trials and not moto cross hth

  5. Hi Russel, long time no speak.... You say carby and electricas are new? Ok.....new new or old new = another fitted? As I wrote, even new parts CAN be faulty..its not a honda and the QS systems are poor. The electrics are rewound by a guy by hand in spain if you have a stator from Bill. ...but here are some more ideas. Is the tube on the fuel tank cap ok? Not a jiffy breather in alu..I have had these blocked? Glenn started on about the fuel tap.... Fuel Tap Ok? New from Steve Good available for about 12 quid. Fuel Tube from Tap to Carby OK? Is an inline fuel filter fitted? Try without Fuel filter just behind the inlet elbow on the carby ok? Float height correct? Genuine 200 Airbox WITH Trumpets? New airfilter, very lightly oiled? Airfilter Seal fitted? Inlet rubber ok?= Take off and reseat. Inlet Manifold to cylinder? Take off and check for leaks. To do this start the bike and let it idle. spray some brake cleaner into the area around the rubber and manifold. If the revs go up, you have a leak. Is it the correct manifold? I do not know if the 200s and 125s were the same. What about the large o-ring at the top of the slide? Or the one on choke lever mechanism? Is the rubber cover on the gas cable that sits over the slack adjuster there? How did you clean the exhaust? Burning out with a torch will destroy the packing in the chamber. It is wire wool. Did you cut it open and lightly repack? The WES should not be causing the problem if its not over packed. You say there are std jets fitted...I have had 44 pilot jets which actual varied in size...dito main jet. Maybe try the same but another...if you know what I mean. If the plug is fouling and all above is ok, try going down on pilot and main jet. But do it one at a time. Also is the plug correct? New plug cap on the HT coil? These do break down with age. Got to a hotter plug? When Bill rebuilt the engine did he notice anything odd? I have a 300 motor which has been welded all around the crank seal behind the stator. It runs ok but if not I would suspect a leak. If all above fails, and you need mostly time and not money to do it, try sellin on ebay............oops Have fun and let os know Lee

Maybe you should sell just the front brake on ebay to pay for the whole bike and a short holiday in new yokrk also ? hahahahahaha The reason for 239 has been written already, funny french tax or insurance system. (The same in italy and thats why they never sold a 156cc professional there...only 125s). As far as the motor goes its the same apart from the barrel and piston. Billy P may know a difference, but I had one which I the rebored and plated for a larger piston. Then 300s had different porting anyway (low port motor) and this makes them more prone to knockug than say a 249 motor from a 301 onwards. you could just swap for a later clylnder? Never made dartmoor as we had two D-Cup rounds here which I had to ride to stay in thplacings will be back for exmioor though cheers L

  8. 1000cc imn the gearbox, or til it runs out the cross head screw on the side cover,. i use ATf. Forks say 220 10W. I use 190 HTH

  10. hi stefano, i think the 300 frt is definitly better although the std one can be improved by enlargeing the axle hole by 0,2mm. problem is that the automatic adjustment you get on the 300 has to be done the manually on a 240 by loosening and re centering i bet the seller was happy....i have 3 myself ..... lee

  12. What diameter and thickness is it? PCD of the fixing holes. How many bolts. try to post a picture Lee
  13. Lots of things here but a bit mixed up i finks Fantic first launched an FM 350 in 1980 as a twin shock. It had a nikasil (similar to hard chrome) bore but the motor was made by minarelli. The tank date moulded under neath shows the date of manufacture approx. In 1983 they stopped making em and in 1984 , model year 1985 they launched the fm 350 mono, which had a disc or drum at the front depending on sales market. The bore and stroke is the same as the twin shock bike but no parts are interchangeable as the motor was made by fantic. It kick starts forwards and not backwards like ther TSs. The letter on the top of the piston shows the diameter. The bores cannot be rebored but as a piston wears out, you can replace with the next letter as available The cases need splitting to replace the kickstart shaft. Kickstarts and shafts are easily and cheaply avauilable here. Bill Pye also has them in the UK but only new and maybe not so cheap as used. The motor was great and the bikes are now well sort after. if not for a aircolled mono, more to fint in an FM450 TS frame. HTH

  16. Hi Ivor. we meet here as well as evilbay! rear sprocket bolts are m7 x 1. get them on eveil bay. If you cant find them searching for fantic and i will let you have (.......give to you...... ANDY, ......FOC!) some used ones from me. If you are cutting off the old pegs them buy decent onces, not the crap on ebay with the brackets for 25 quid. Try moving back and lower about 15mm in each direction.
