  1. It is a std 300 cover. It will fit straight onto a 240 motor in a 240 frame also. The mounts are the same, its just 12mm wider. With that kind of tool cost, I wont make a 240 tool as the 300s will fit.
  2. I have only made one so far. It needs testing in exmoor. Fits perfectly, hope it doesnt melt. weighs about the same as the original. The silicon tool cost me 450 quid!!!!! Lee waddayathink?

Hi Blocky, was quite a common mod in the day. 240 frt box, Bultaco rear box. There is a guy on here inn Zomerset 8Ask greeves) who knew the Fantic man carey and knew also why they did it or what they got. 100s were modded, I got one from italy and it wasnt better than standard or a WES IMO

As Woody said, hard to put a price on it. and as said above also, it will sell for what a buyer wants to pay. i heard that a majesty sold for 7500 pounds atb Alans Show, amazing! Orginal unmolested bikes are great but the crank seals are original also...30 years old. How rusty are the spoke nipples? barb rubbers etc etc. I have rebuilt quite a few twin shock bikes and to do it proprly, powder coated hubs new spokes new gearbox bearings and seals, you will have to spend that kind of money, maybe even more with bling. IMO it isd better to buy a good base bike and restore and rebuilt to new. 2,8K is a lot for a base bike.

    I think....not
  6. does the sm series prohibit these mods? If yes and you still want to ride, then thze answer is there. i would do it...longer shocksn were my answer before i actually rode one.....really no comparison. longer shocks are like put octane booster in an f1 and hoping it goes faster...you believe it works cos the minimal theory we pocess says it should... The bikes I have are all modded...wouldnt have it any other way now L
  7. both of above...ensure bare metal where the bearing sits or it wont work. If it wasnt masked before painting, get yer4 wet and dry out...I use a dremel L

  13. I started riding the german TS championship over here in 2003. I started as a novice as I had ridden, albeit 20 years previously. A then new found mate then laid down his rules (He was a novice riding his first year also). The rules he fixed were: "Land on the steps", so first, second or third, then move up next year. I liked that idea and still do! (WE HAVE LITTLE CUPS OVER HERE TO CARRY ON EXPLOITING THE UNDERPAID CHINEASE GIRLES) I got a second and third place out of the 8 rounds I rode, so went to clubman the next year. In 2004 I got a first, 2nd and 3rd as a clubbie so moved up to specialist. In 2005 I got nowt so stayed specialist. In 2006 the same. In 2007 I got one (maybe lucky??) third, so went to experts in 2008. I am usually last..... If the routes are daunting, I ride specialist...and come close to last even then. I did ride a few rounds over the eurocup in the clubman route (Holland and Belgian also) and came 2nd and 3rd so I kind of feel OK where I am....in germany. Rode a three day classic trial in france and entered as clubman cos I thought, well...3 days... ....it wer reet ard..... and I struggled. It just shows the "level" in germany. If I ride the gentlemann route in exmoor I can do ok. Was in third up til the end of day two in 2008 and then finished 7th...bugger All in all, you have to choose for yourself. I have no time to practice and therefore I dont really get any better. BUT.... I not want to ride clubman route in germany at least.... Why do I write this? Well a pet hate of mine is the silvery cups they handout over here. Usually there are between 70 and 100 starters at any D-cup round and most ride novice, beginner or clubman, just to scoop the ironwear... I think you should start in a group to push yourself without overdoing it. One guy just went down to beginner and wins it regularly...but he is 78 so is that ok?
  14. Ride a trial in the clubman route. If you are last by a long way, you are still a beginner. All relative...in germany I ride twinshock expert or specialist depending form. In Belgien or France, i ride the clubman route..in exmoor I ride the gentleman route as opposed to the star route. Decide for yourself. A 200 is good enough for miost riders for 3 years and a 290 is def too much in the first 6-12 months
  15. http://fantic240pro.pagesperso-orange.fr/Ukcircuit.simplifie.htm have a look. measure down the cables. If the values are 40-60 and 400-600, then the coil is duff if yiou buy a ducati coil from say steve good, then read this http://fantic240pro.pagesperso-orange.fr/UkBon%20conseils.htm Lee
  16. Thanks whizzy....wauit an hour or so. I will take the tank off mein and take a piccie and post it. You are supposed to mease the cables. What is C? There are three posts on the coil fixed by 8mm nuts. Take em all off and remeber where they went. Or be a smart Ar5e and take a piccie. Std coplours where red grenn and black. Piccie to follow.. Lee
  17. easy, just try it. find ground...it was black. one cable to frame shiould be 0 ohms then between one and tother 40 to 60...thats the trigger and tween the other one and ground 400-600ohms. Just using an ohmmeter will not damage anything.
  18. handbook says 220 i use 200 HTH
  19. disconnect loom at the coil red to black should be 400-600 ohm green to black 40-60 If both are ok, coil is awol replacement available from steve good (ducati) if yours is a silver can, its 30 plkus years old... the ducati is wired up diffently, post here when its in yer hands lee

  24. I have modded many 240s and 300s. I dont like the footrests on the 200 as my feet hurt on the narrow pegs...see my ballet shoes from steve above...so raptors it will be...but position...you may have a point what do the others say?
