All welcome, can sign as guest. Expert, 50/50 and novice route. Suitable for competent beginners. Also twin shock and pre 65. Starts at 11. No death defying stuff. You looking for a relaxed atmosphere trial, this is the trial for you. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask. Tom
  2. Hello brucey, If its just for insurance cover I'd try a company that specializes in this. Doodsons do this and they also cover your bike whilst at trials, (when locked up) They also cover tools. Save yourself the £100 and more trying to sort that out. This company know what they are doing and understand about competition bikes not having reg numbers. Just 1 possible solution. Good luck Tom
  3. Hi, You can also get a large capacity fuel tank. I was wondering. Why do you need to carry so much fuel around? Tom
  4. Trial starts at 11.00am. All welcome. Sutton Coldfield trials club AMCA. No licence required. Novice, clubman (50/50) and Expert. Novice route suitable for beginners and youth riders. No death defying stuff. Friendly atmosphere. If you in the midlands come along. Tom
  5. Hi, When I was road racing we looked into every possible variant to help cooling. Tried most things on the market. They all promise better cooling. We then came upon some testing that some scientists at a University had carried out on most of the brands available. Basically, water is best. Some cooled quick but also heated quick. I'll have a look see if I can find the reports, if I do I'll post them or link to them. I would recommend an additive to prevent corrosion though. I agree with Dan, Pro Cool works fine. Tom
  6. If trials and the World Championship means anything to Raga, he will be there. When your at the top you get spoilt. You get more stuff than you really need. Its a hard come down but like i say. If he wants to ride, he'll be there. I'm sure he knows enough people to be fixed up already. If he's not forgotten where he came from then he'll put his hand in his own pocket. Plenty of time to negotiate a deal. In Moto GP, Honda said we wont have 2 spanish riders. next thing you know!!! So anythings possible. Be good to see him on Vertigo though.. Tom

  9. Hi, sp1, I'm from sunny Brum. I go to Earl Shilton when I can. Worth every penny. There's room for couple hundred riders, would be busy though!! Plenty of room to ride without even seeing another rider sometimes. I dont think i've ever seen more than 25 or so practicing at any one time. As toe toe says, your riding on legal ground and safe parking which is worth its weight in gold these days. hope to see you there sometime Tom

    Amca

Hi Burns 1989, There are usually plenty of amca trial around your area. There maybe 1 at shatterford in Bewdley on 22nd Feb but yet to be confirmed. Check this site "midland area amca trials" You can always ride as guest, usually around 12 to 15 quid. Tom
  12. Hi Fitz, If you licence hasn't arrived by middle of next week, call Acu licence department and they will sent you licence conformation email so you have number and proof of licence. Save you filling another form in. They are clamping down on licences at the moment. Everything else, entry form etc, you can fill in on the day. I'll keep an eye out for you on the 8th. Tom

    Numberplate

Hi, The mot inspection manual says you must have correctly sized plate, numbers and letters. Height 64mm, Width 44mm, space between 10mm, width of characters 10mm. As crap as they would be on a trials bike, thems the rules! I tape a full size onto my small plate for mot purpose. Its keeps him happy, he loves to try and find a reason to fail it. The tester is my uncle!!! tom
  14. hello fitz, Yes, definitely recommend Earl Shilton. Cater for all levels. Great place to learn all aspects of riding. see you there Tom
  15. Hi Tony, The new tyre will be loads better but as the first place you tried it was at Shatterford I'm not surprised by the slipping and sliding around. There is no worse place for the greasy surface. Next time you ride at your normal venues you will see the difference. Tom
  16. Hi See you at Earl Shilton, trial coming up 19th I think. Better get your bike assembled. IOM tt, Talk all day about that place. Tom
  17. Hi Aidan. my lad does the conducted route at earl shilton. There are more osets each time we go. He's moved to petrol now but the kids range from around 4 years to 11. I would definitely recommend going, take your bike. There will only be kids in the conducted and its all done in the same area. Parents can run alongside directing and picking them up! Its well organised and very relaxed. It starts at 10.30, go earlier to get some practice. Unfortunately we wont be making the 10th. We're on holiday and they're not keen on coming back early just so i can ride. If you need to know anything let me know and i'll try to help best i can. Hope to see you there sometime Tom
  18. toe toe, i keep trying to mail you, message keeps saying you cannot receive any more mail. Is it full? Tom
  19. Hi Tony,. Its past Darley Moor race circuit. As you go down the hill, the road widens, 4 lanes i think. Half way down hill on the right. See you there mate. tom
  20. I've called loads as my house insurance didnt want to know. I decided on a company called "doodson". I'd never heard of them but they specialize in this type of cover. I'm covered for my Gas Gas txt pro (£4500) and sons Clipic 80 (£1500) at home, in the van and at a venue. premium cost £300!! They also included tools and wot not. Worth a call for a quote. 0161 419 3000. Tom
  21. Hi Ashley, I'm in Great Barr. I go to Earl shilton near Hinckley and Shatterford in Bewdley practicing. I try and ride in a trial as often as i can. Only started last August. Tom
  22. Hello toe toe, shame your not going to make Earlshilton. There's a trial next Sunday at Knighton, Newport, shropshire. It will be sign posted of A41 at chetwynd. Not been there myself yet but its an AMCA trial. I've done a few of this AMCA series. Great bunch of guys and girls sometimes. Relaxed atmosphere. You can ride as a guest, no licence needed. starts at 11.00, always worth getting there earlier if you want practice/warm up. Tom
  23. Woody, yes my dad's Norman, it did have an alloy tank with stripe on, i prefered it to that one. He made this one because it was more like the original one when he first built it. I used to go down the quarry with my dad in the 80's, great place, shame its gone. I'll mention you to my dad, (message me your name) I've been trying to get him to ride! I've just started in trials again, had enough of road racing!
