Sticky Clutch
Welcome Kingy. Don't worry about the clutch, that's a very common problem. I've a much old Beta and to free the clutch off I ride it around for maybe 30 seconds, winding up and down the gearbox till the clutch free's off. It's mainly caused by the strong clutch springs suqeezing the plates together and causing a vacuum. The clutch oil seals the vacuum.

A Big Hello To All !
Welcome Stuart, You'll find a huge friendly bunch on here and I'm sure you'll get lots of help if and when you need it. It'd be useful if you could enter your rough location (under My Controls, Personal Profile), esp when asking for local dealers, where to ride etc. Hope you find a good bike and get on well at IDMCC. ....RoughRider

Beta Techno
For a manual, email info@betamotor.com mark it for the attention of Gianluca Olivieri I contacted him a year or 2 ago and he sent me the Techno 97 manual. Can't be sure he's still there but it's worth a try. Good luck.

More Techno Questions .....
Welcome Exhaust Packing - I purchased some sheets of packing material (about a fiver from most bike spares shops), it wraps easily around the baffle (you can hold it in place with some wire if you want) before sliding it back into the exhaust. Really is a 20min job. Linkage - some people have added their own grease nipples as there arn't any as standard. It is very prone to drying out and wearing. I would recommend taking it apart, replacing any worn parts/bearings and fully packing with grease. Whilst it's apart you could then add some nipples. Hope this helps.

Sheffield On Tv
Welcome Pancho! I'm sure Andy will know for certain, but I recon 'cos it was independant and 'nowt to do with Octagon it won't be on Sky. However, the videos on this site are far superior to the indoor trials usually shown on Sky.

Sheffield Indoor Trial
Kinell, AtomAnt, Andy ..... you guys deserve a medal for the photo/video coverage and quality editing. We were there and saw it first hand but to get to see it all over again, even closer up, is fantastic. I've always been disappointed with the TV coverage of the indoors, your vids on here are in another league. THANKS!!!!!! Richard and Daniel.

Dead Beta 125..any Ideas?
We had a similar problem with my lads 125, stuck on full revs (he still has the scars). Turned out the slide wan't running freely in the carb and was stuck fully open. Cleaned carb and slide and all was well. There was no water involved, loose dirt in the bottom of the airbox has been jolted free and sucked into the carb.

Sheffield Indoor Trial
We've become hooked on Sheffield; It's a Christmas ritual now, buying the best seats possible on the first day of sales. And I agree with what Dabster said, to see the young lads getting a chance to compete against the top guns gives another edge that the younger fans can relate to. Can't wait .......

Techno Worries
Hi Max, Can't really help with advice on the plug for the 98 Techno, I think I have BPR5ES in the 97 Techno and it runs fine. The leaking sounds like the jet in the carb is sticking. Give the carb a good clean especially check the float moves freely and the jet is well clean so it seals properly. Good luck.

Scott Trial - Directions/route
Hey Perce, Just wanted to say thanks again for the great spectator routes you published. They really do make the 'Scott Experience' even better. We also want to pass on our thanks for yet another well organised event, with special thanks for the decent road signs, not once did we get lost and managed to avoid the worst of the traffic problems.

Scott Results
Yeah, Dougie was first into the field and proudly announced with a big smile that this was a first for him. He was about 9 mins ahead of Grimbo, who was second into the field. Dougie started about 4 mins ahead of Grimbo so he finished about 5 mins up. I think Dibbs was third into the field. Sorry can't remember any more. Awaiting official results which should be around midnight.

Sherco 125 Throttle Problem
Guys, You were absolutely right. Carb barell had it's fair share of crud and the slide was stuck at the top. Cleaned it all out and yes, keeping carb and airbox as one did make installation easier. We also cleaned out the airbox. Has anyone found putting a drain in the airbox a good idea (I remember seeing some posts a long while ago about it). Thanks again.

Scott Trial - Directions/route
Hi, We're aiming to venture up to the Scott at the weekend ..... really looking forward to it. Perce, you did a great spectator route last year, any chance of another this year (I appreciate you're probably just a tad busy, but if you do get chance we'd be grateful)? Also, anyone got a map link showing where the start is? Thanks
