I'm also trying to adjust the throttle cable as there is some free play as I roll the throttle on, basically tightenting up the throttle cable above the carb. However the adjustment screw will only go so far which wont allow me to tighten the cable to a positive feel. Is there an adjstment screw inside the tp of the carb, would you know?
Sound's like it's had a replacement cable at some stage, and they cut the cable off to long.

Hope not we don't need our top trial's rider's going around with there head's stuck up there own backside's.
Sorry don't like the kid,his spoilt brat threat's of " i'll do this unless" show's he should be still racing kart's.
-
I really can't see where he's selling point was though,he stated he recieved delivery of he's first (1)2008 beta,he even took it out to get dirty and risk damage to the bike.
He did'nt say he had 20 on the floor that had to go,now that could of been seen as a selling point.
If any body had anything to gain out of he's post,it would be lampkin's
Beside's if someone was going to buy a new bike the chance's are the person would know about all the bike's and try them all before they choose and not go by word say on what is or is'nt the best bike for them.
-
Some poeple just can't help themselves can they?
It was just too much like a blatant advert.
Your right Dabster he should'nt have mentioned mr lampkin's name.
you obviously don't know the guy from OAS otherwise you would'nt of been so quick off the mark i don't think?
So what's your view with the new Beta then man from OAS.
-
Yes the xispa cover might be better as it would probaly melt onto the engine casing the first time the motor get's hot.
sorted.
-
once the work has been done who`s going to reverse the mods??? NO ONE
I would'nt like to put a bet on that.
-
Not really, costs would come down hugely. High paid drivers and big motorhomes would go but it would carry on. Dont forget F1 has Honda, Renault, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota and Fiat (Ferrari), they are a few companies that arent exactly short of money. Im sure if they wanted either of them could buy Gas Gas, Sherco & Beta without worrying about what it would cost.
It wasnt that long ago (early 80's) you could run a F1 team on 5million a year, it would just go back to that.
WTC is basically a Honda showcase these days.
Exactly.
And then we come to the point of having to put restriction's on honda to what they can and can't do to the bike's so everything's at an even kill.
The writing is on the wall.

I would'nt of thought 5 million would give you the same today than what it would give you in the 80's.
-
If F1 lost all it's sponsor's it would fall apart overnight.
-
We were quite happy when Dougie moved the goal posts and took the WTC to another level and bagged 7 wins, now Bou and Raga seem to have a battle amongst themselves...........there seems to be a problem with the WTC.
Thats an interesting point,However i would of found it hard to get excited even if it was a Brit win.
I have very little interest in the WTC because it's so far away from what i do,Infact it's a completly diffrent sport to how i know it,by the sound's of thing's there's people thinking the same as me.
When it come's to the Scottish i enjoy following that from day to day and i expect many people do,the reason for that must be one of, thats how i ride so i can relate to it.
-
Is a circus not entertaing?
Nope there Tacky.
And we still have a fantasy of being on TV,no chance.
-
Im glad i experianced Trial's all those year's ago, there was no glamour or glitz to the sport, just get on your bike and ride, now i truly believe trial's at the top end has gone well above it's station, maybe the factory's feel they have to chuck all there money at a few good rider's to keep them,i don't know.
Don't let's be fooled here there is no big money coming from the outside,if it has'nt come by now it never will.
-
They can source the motor from Xispa.
I was thinking the same,i expect Xispa could supply ccm with a frame aswell if they asked nicely.
-
Biff,
you never know atk with there 450 crosser might have some joy over there.
sadly i think seeing a maico would be a dream to far
-
Good to see some forward thinking going on in the trial's world.nice catch.
So what roundabout are you on.
-
I Dunno the more i think about it the more i think it's someone's idea of a sick joke.
-
A little article on the CCM Project.
punch here
I wonder if they would like to make us a trial bike next.
-
Try gordon farley.
based in guildford.
01483 538485.
not sure what his got in stock though.
-
Come on Glyph don't leave us hanging by our ball's.
How did you find your spark again.
-
endless mapping options for tunability .
IMHO
Which is completly useless in the hand's of novice's and probaly allways will be.
Think we might be getting mixed up with people buying the montesa for it's Hi Tech gadget's which does'nt make them a better rider in which case it's not the best 4 stroke.
I have to admit montesa played a blinder there they thought how can we sell more bike's,ohh let's put a Hi Tech map onit people love that kind of thing.
-
I would rather have a 4 stroke that almost never needs work than a 2 stroke that always needs attention.
Artie
maybe so artie, but i'd still want to rip the top end off every now and again to make sure everything is good, and as you know 4 stroke's are alot more involved in that department.
-
Agreed, however, I would say that the 4RT is currently the best 4 stroke trials bike.
Yes but it's not a proven fact
Put bou on the beta 4 stroke next year and if he come's last,i will agree with you.
-
But will montesa sell more bike's because of the win,i would'nt think so,there still go for something like a gas gas because the simplicity of the 2 stroke when working on it.
So i would'nt say the 4RT is the best trial's bike in the world, it just had the world's best rider on board.
-
Yes Excellent stuff.
Do you have any more snipit's there Brian.
