You playing the banjo Charlie?
-
Hey Bikespace.
If you're planning on moving over here, you might have to get used to that.
Camped at the Outlaw for two years in a row & it was at or below 0C (That was with the wife & son who was 9mths old the 1st time).
Welcome to Canada mate

That's what everyone thought when they voted this clown in. In a way I'm happy I moved to Canada. But even here where trials is nowhere near as big, but the country is hundred times bigger than back home, the politicians are trying to do the same. It is a shame about the ST. David's Trial I have watched it a few times & was a great event. Hopefully you'll be able to reschedule for later in the year. Good luck guys. Maybe come May 5th things will change for the better, I wouldn't hold my breath though.

I'm the ATRA's club rep for the Edmonton Alberta bike show & presently we use video's & DVD's of World rounds & RYP video's at the shows.
I too feel that while the video's attract attention, people tend to say "Looks awesome, but, there's no way I could/would do it". It does help that local riders are riding indoors, so that the public can see Joe Blogg's riding & think it's acheivable. But a DVD to help promote the sport can only do good in my eyes.
Put me down for 2.

p.s. Will it be available for the January bike show?

Do I need Say Anymore?
Now Fraceman I know you're gonna say " What happened last year Taff?"
Well I guess the boys were just winding down & felt the competition wasn't there & preferred to be on the golf course early.
& who wanted to talk about the cup?
I have an unfortunate buddy whose a lost cause (Habs fan). Sad story that one is...........always says they're gonna make the finals every year............he pays for my gas for the season though
Any how Ladies Gotta go watch the final of the world female ping pong tournie as there's f*$^@ll else on.

Good choice B.B.
As Jay says if you don't know what you're doing best seek professional advice/assistance.
I replaced my fork seals exactly how Terry explained. With a 1 1/2" pvc pipe.
My question to the commo's was exactly the same as yours Beta boy (as I also didn't have a manual & the first time changing USD forks), "How do you get the dust covers out without wrecking them?".
I guess a licenced HD mechanic shouldn't be asking for advice cause I should know it eh?

The CMA are not only screwing the men over, but the women too.........as I heard from one of the women this weekend. .............
The C.M.A. is an embarrassement to not only the country but to the worldwide trials community.
I only hope that the F.I.M. starts asking the C.M.A. a few questions when they see, no mens team entered in the TDN. Only problem is the FIM will only ask the one person who seems to be the cause of all these problems in Canadien trials.

WellI 'm Welsh, not Scottish. But why pay more?
As Gizza says............They both do the same job. That's why I got the plastics.
Hey your opinion, & your wallett.....Get the Carbon Fibre way cheaper than paying for new forks.........honest.
The next topic will be "Why use a mudguard? I like the idea, but, it looks girlie. what do you guys think"?
-
Beta Boy. I had the same predicament last year on my ole 95 Techno. I called Commo's in the US to ask for assistance in how to take them apart. I got told that "If I didn't know how to do it, then I shouldn't attempt splitting them". So back to the bench for another night of pulling my hair out, but, eventually worked it out.
1st) Drain the oil out of the forks.
2nd) Remove the forks & put them in a vice (just easier then chasing them all over the work bench).
3rd) Pry off the dust cover with a small screwdriver. inside you'll see a circlip (ringclip) take that out & pull apart.
You might still get some resistance but its just spacers & bushings, keep sliding the piston out & remember which way everything sits before pulling it all apart. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same problems with my 04 250. Notice it more when engine is under load.........i.e. a long hill climb in 3rd or 4th. Played around & changed the plug to a BPR6EGP ( I think).........Also checked & reset the float settings & mixture settings.......( well Outlaw did anyways) Seems to be better but will know more after this weekends trial. New jetting will be next.

Prevention not cure is the key here
STOP DROPPING THE BIKE STU!!!!!!

JTT. I was using a cup of water as an example of what WD40 does when in water.............
However, using it to flush out any particles of sand/grit.........Think we all agree there is a use for WD40.
-
You do realise WD40 is a cleaner..........Not a lubricant, as was earlier stated. But Water Displacement?.....Hmmmmmmmm spray some of your WD40 in a cup of water (Better to spray some into the lid first then pour into water ). See what it does...........?
Sits on the top........?
..........oil based but not that good as a lubricant & definately not good as a water displacer.

Steve's pretty good.. But he is a big guy & can hold is own (thankfully). But there's this little welsh guy we have up here where we live in igloo's. Who must have hollow legs. Can that Outlaw put them away? Welsh man though.........."Ahhhh, that explains it". I hear you say.
Sorry Ringo I love you're posts but ..... I will open a can o' worms here & admit................ Americans can't drink!! No need to make excuses we all know. Best left at that I guess

Adda boy Ringo...............
....'bout time you came back....has been a 'lil boring around here lately. I agree with the campfire comment also............

Anyhill, I had the same problem on my '95 Beta.....unfortunately the only way not to break the rear fender is simple. DON'T FLIP THE BIKE!. what I did was to put tie wraps (zip ties) where the two mudguard bolts would've been. put small ones on & carry a few round with you. to repair a snapped mudguard just get a piece of old mudguard ( I took one off an old TY) heat the plastic a little & mold it to the inside of the origional & pop rivet together. the beta's plastic is brittle for that year I snapped one just by going over a log & the fender hitting my ass.............no I'm not that big either. hope this helps.
-
Let me know when you do & I'll come test 'em

I think Cubby's looking for something without an engine.................don't know why though..........too much hard work
