"seems strange that we, as the country that invented trials,"
And where in Scotland would this magazine be printed?
I thought you were English?

Your pads are vibrating on the piston puck.
Either the steel part of the pads are warped or there is a bunch of crap stuck between pad and puck.
Take them apart and clean them or replace the pads.
If all else fails go to your local and supply store and pick up some anti vibration lube that they sell for the same problem with car brakes.
Cheers

Thanks JTT
But still do not have the answer to my question.
I will ask it another way. If I were to cut a slot out on a piece of wood how long would it have to be to fit the rear tire through, then the same question for the front.
Again that would be the diameter of the tire mounted on then wheel.
Or twice the radius.
Any one got a tape measure
-
Guys not looking for the circumfrence just the outside diamter of the tire.
I do not have a bike at hand or I would measure it myself.
Can some one measure the diamtere of the front and back tire for me?????
Thanks
-
Thanks for the info, but how do I get the outside diametre of the front and back tire?
Thanks
-
Tire Size Front 2.75-21 Rear 4.00-18
Does this mean the front tire is almost 3" high or wide? And what does the - 21 mean?
The rear 4.00 high or wide. And what does the 18 stand for.
In other words how do you read these measurment?

Steveo, no idea but it took me about 10 strokes. Before I dabbed
If memory serves me correctly she was very hard to get started, coughed and spluttered a lot, did not not need lubrication, did not like me throwing a leg over her when she was cold, got jelouse when I rode other lighter models, got all hissy for no aparent reason, come to think of it she was a four stroke

Are we talking about with a bike ?
If so, how about the strangest object?
That would have to be the inside of a house that was being built. Up and down the stairs, on top of the kitchen cabinets, up and over the toilet pan, in and out of the bath tub, to end by rding over a drunk Mexican worker that was sleeping under a tarp (un-known to me and) scaring the crap out of him
If not a bike! How about a Hillman Imp in the back seat, (I think her name was Susie)

As an ex pat (from Scotland) living in Canada & the USA for over twenty years I have my thoughts on this topic.
But my thoughts would be very contrversial and not taken to lightly
Maybe one day if you can get me drunk I will spill the beans
Until then

Miky bar boy.
Welcome aboard.
The "special head" more than likely has a different squish angle and or compression ratio.
A special carb would be a 28mm bore Delorto.
You need to tell us what type, year, of bike you have and what it is you would like to accomplish by adding the special parts.
Maybe you do not have to buy these parts and we could tell you how to make the changes that you need.
Give us more info about what you are thinking or are you just kicking tires?

No, not text talk but Glasweigin. Now if I posted messages like that how would you feel?

No one here is out to bash you, trials people are the salt of the earth.
If you place your thoughts down so that others can understand them the chances of you getting treated with respect is much higher. Given the fact that you are new here and that some of us have been for about ten years now, some "when in Rome" consideration should be given.
I use the word "carb" many times in many articles, you used the word "cab".
I see that you have cleaned up you original post, good!
The more (legible) info you give us up front the more likely we are to offer advice.
We do not care about spelling, if the intent to spell correctly was there in the first place.
So, how can we help you and what is that you are trying to achieve?

I am not speaking about spelling or grammer, hell I am the first one to admit that my spellinnggg is bad.
BUT it was obvious from the posting that there was no attempt to spell or use correct grammer, but rather an obvious quick type with short text type messaging.

i have the 250 06 beta and wounder if there was any extra performace or cab stuff
does any one know of what the special head does diff to the origanal??
The above is the reason why I think that this site is becoming like a text message service
What happend to the days when people took the time to put their thoughts down correctly?
What is "cab" or "wounder".......
Ten years of posting and now it comes down to this way of asking questions
Does this reflect the average age of whom is posting or am I a dinosaur?

By following my Mikuni set up advice
The carb is bought in bulk from Mikuni by Beta.
The carb was originaly off a Suzuki dirt bike.
It is about 20 years old in design.

Dial Betty for your request 01144419468988
There is non easier
If she is sober you should not take any dabs.

Actualy this bike is one that the stickers fell off. It is actualy a Gas Gas. In fact Gas Gas in Spanish means "cardboard cardboard.
-
Your cold starting is due to a #25 jet if that is indeed what you have in the bike.
Switch to a mininum of #35 pilot jet. Mikuni jets only go down to #10 on the pilots so it could not be "2.5". GET A BIG MAGNIFIER AND LOOK CLOSER.
Trust me.......
Cheers

Jets with adjustments

@140 Main Jet.

Mmmmm
I have been telling people for years the importance of the pilot jet.
Keep in mind the pilot jet is still working at all the stages of throttle opening.
Glad to see you have fixed the problem.

Two turns with "V" groove on front of slide.
Reduced shroud on needle jet?
Smoothed bore!

Digger
Mikuni sells the carbs as an off the shelf OEM (Original Equipment Part) to Beta.
The carbs are set at the Mikuni factory for a generic bike as they were used on various dirt bike models. If Mikuni set them all for Beta all the other carbs would be off.
It is up to the OEM bike manufacturer or after market person who buys these carbs to open each one of them up and adjust them accordingly. Beta is not about to open up several thousand carbs and adjust them. They bought carbs on a bulk purchase hence the amount.
This carb is basically produced now only as a replacement carb as no new model dirt bike other than the Beta comes with this carb on it from the factory.
Also it is only certain parts of the world that suffers from this problem. Since they have no idea on the Beta production line what bikes are going where in the world it is easier to leave them stock ie (how they came from the Mikuni factory).
