  1. a, Most cleans d, Most ones c, Most twos d, Most threes e Furthest cleanest f Bollock kicking contest
  2. Your not wrong Sean, think the first patent was taken out in 1845, been p*****g fuel out ever since
  3. Just looked that up myself, did nt know either, but have noticed low octane fuel tends to knock. I try and use Shell V Power, 99 octane unleaded, works really well
  4. Mil, I clean the carb out mainly incase its got water in it from the Jet wash etc as well as dirt. I enjoy the maintenance side of having bikes so no problem doing it. Carbs may look clean but somethings you cant see will block them up sometimes. Is your bike running too rich then? is that why you want to move the circlip? if you do move it keep an eye on the plug to make sure it isnt running too weak or you could try the Jet kit so you can play with both Pilot and main Jet settings.
  5. Mayor, I am only stating what difference the Boyesens have made to my Rev3. I guarantee you the difference is quite dramatic and nothing like mild at all, why would I tell porkies? The low down throttle response is exceptional and the throttle for the first time in 9 months is now smooth all the way through. I have nt tried the V Force reeds yet and dont intend too due to their cost over the Boyesens, the bike is now at last how I like it. These are the results for my bike, may not work as well on others, Betas seem to have the biggest difference between each bike I have ever ridden. Not 100% sure if your a dealer for V Force reeds but it looks like it from your post a little? if not though thanks for the offer on here to members for shipping to the UK
  6. Mil, hope the pic helps, not gone into huge detail but all the main parts are shown. I usually remove the main jet (6mm) pilot jet (deep in the hole shown) tangs, tang pin and fuel regulator needle. Spray plenty of Carb cleaner through the passages and in the removed parts (Oposite direction to fuel flow if possible) and give the whole lot a good blast through with the air line. Be carefull removing the pilot jet, it needs a small thin flat head screwdriver and dont overtighten anything when putting it together again. One tip if you are unsure which way the tangs go back in,(up or down) there should be a small "A" stamped on them, the A goes up so you see it when assembled. I do this every ride to be sure everything is clean, bit excessive but I can do it in ten mintues now and good to know its clean and running right for the next ride. The needle jet has a very small circlip usually in the middle notch as standard. The circlip can be removed easily with pliers and even easier to loose it in the shed though, be carefull. It is easier to put the spring etc back in place with the cable disconnected from the throttle body if you are planning on moving the circlip height. Remember if you remove the slide/spring/cable etc that the thin round plate that sits in the slide goes on once the cable is fitted and not before. The hole in the middle of it is for the needle not the cable, put the needle into the slide hole, put the cable through the spring first, fit the cable to the slide ensuring it slots/locks into the second hole. Then put the plate on top of the needle making sure the raised notch locks into the cable holes and is lying perfectly flat. You have to do all this whilst holding the spring compressed as you will find when doing it, can be abit tricky but easier with the throttle end of the cable disconnected.

    Ilmor

Looks like they are having a few problems getting up to speed before the season opener. Hoped they would bring out something near the mark this season but quite a few seconds off the pace so far.
  8. Dads like a 6 year old at Christmas morning he loves the thing and rides it like hes been on it years. The Mitani site has never had so many hits since he bought it, already remortgaging the house to buy some add ons. Brakes felt better yesterday and he was pleased with the bike in the muddy ride we had on Sunday me and Ralph only heard one shout of F***ng grip you T****er all day He will be polishing and rubbing it as we speak and admiring how well made it is and he may even wash the bike tomorrow
  9. Moving the circlip further up the the needle (dropping the needle) will weaken the fuel flow and richen it the other way. The standard setting is in the middle, most people weaken the mix by one notch. You may not have to move it though as you are already running weaker jets.
  10. chriss, I just saw you were posting and just knew you would say something like that
  11. Tone, the float heights and extension bowl cured mine, are you sure the fan is cutting in ok when it gets hot. Easy thing to overlook, and check the water level
  12. Bike is only 9 months old and I changed the reeds 2 months ago, the ones i took out where fine and sealing pefectly. The difference with the Boyesens has been quite dramatic on my bike cant say everyones though, couple of mates have used Boyesens on their Monts and swear by them as have a couple of people posting here. Which shop told you not to buy them mil? and what did they offer instead? I have heard good reports on the V Force reeds but I am glad i did nt spend the extra money now as the bike is running so well For setup on my bike this is what I run now 270 - 06 Rev3 Jitsie Filter PJ1 air filter oil 65mlitres of TTS in 5 Litres of High Octane pump Fuel 145 Main Jet 27.5 Pilot jet One notch up on needle jet Saunders Carb mod (drilling) Float heights set as per R2W site Boyesen reeds Platinum 5EVX plug Reed block spacer removed (mainly for ease of removing carb) Float extension bowl Also as said above on a post the bike is very hard to stall now, you can crawl up hills on next to no throttle and if asked for more speed the pickup is smooth and maintains grip
  13. Not yet Barry, he has nt fitted them yet. As you know the main problem with my bike for a while has been the odd vibration that is felt through the throttle. The Boyesens have smoothed it out at last and improved low down running, taken 9 months to get the bike as I think it should run so well chuffed today. Dad is also well pleased with 4rt, take him a little while to get used to some types of sections (Grip) but seems to be riding everything else better (If thats possible) and hopping around like Toni Bou with a firework in his pants Even Ralph turned up today, and enjoyed himself even though the quarry was really muddy and not too many for F*** sake shouts from him even
  14. Barry, cant imagine the bike being any better than it is now, the V Force are
  15. Paul, make the purchase mate you wont be dissapointed. The Boyesens have not only smoothed out the throttle on the bike but there seems to be more rpm at the top end and basically running alot cleaner/smoother than before. The biggest change and best is the throttle response from nothing to quarter openings, the bike has lots of grunt and the grip on this opening is vastly increased. I have'nt had to re-jet at all as evertthing seems to be running fine, doesnt seem weaker or richer throughtout the rev range. Definatley one of the best buys for the bike so far well worth the
  16. Will do Paul hope they work well tomorrow, going to be wet and muddy so should get a good test. Mate has just bought V Force reeds so see which one works better, the Boyesens are a hell of a lot cheaper than V Force

    Tire Pressure

Depends on what type of ground you are riding Tom, I usually run 6-7 in front in the summer and 4-5 in the rear. 3 or less in the mud in the rear and 5-6 in the front. Rocks etc 6-7 in the front and up to 5 in the rear, usually 4.5, you can run lower if you have a Dunlop as it should nt come off the rim easily
  18. 3rd Round of the Midland Centre Group Trials series held by Bewdley MCC tomorrow has been cancelled due to the recent weather. Bewdley MCC site If anyone knows someone who is riding and have their phone number give them a call to let them though, sure it will be appreciated
  19. Book comes later mate, got mine this morning and using it to clear snow off the van as we speak, it does have its uses
  20. Nice one John think I know how you feel, dads just got one and hes been waiting for a while now. Been out once on it and then all this snow so he hasnt been out since , sure you will enjoy it and the wait has been worth it
  21. Did you put the right amount back in? and what oil did you use
  22. No chance to go out for a play on the bike today either ground conditions not good here at all. Dad came over this afternoon and looked gutted said he had been praying for bright sunshine and 90 degree temps for last night but it never happened, just have to go out three times next week now. Trial may be off for Sunday as well but keep hoping the weather will change tomorrow, cant beleive it but i am really hoping it pours down with rain tomorrow and clears the white stuff away
  23. Paul, got the reeds off Ebay motormerlin link below. My bike is 9 months old and does nt get ridden much . Reeds were
  24. Fellon, cant beleive you waste your time on these silly games mate, have nt you got anything better to do? lifes too short Get a good run up, lift the front early and wheelie over the mini so the bike lands on the pipe at speed and as it does lean forward quick.............should do it, it gets harder as you go on though
  25. Stuck them in today, wow what a difference smoothed out the throttle really well. Not had a chance to give them a good test yet, but keeping my fingers crossed it will make a big difference for the better. Most difficult part of fitting them wasnt removing the reed block, carb, exhaust and moving clutch cable!!!! getting them out of the packaging without bending the buggers took nearly as long is there a trick to it? the vacuum packaging was a pain.
