I am pretty carefull when refueling at most trials/practice, but some of the trials we do involve a fuel stop in the middle of no-where in the p****** rain, think most of it gets spilt then,saying that though quite like the bike without the centre decal now anyway. Slight problem now though, bike has no rebound damping at all?????? felt abit like a pogo stick for a while so I knocked the rebound off abit tonight. No change at 8 clicks out so went out fully, no difference? anyone got any easy answers/cures? only had the bike 9 weeks so far and its not done much If it is f****d what the best shocker to replace it with? Ohlins etc and where can i get one in the UK or US quite quickly,back end on the bike is abit lively to say the least. Hope Sherco will replace the bugger as its less than three months old,are these Olle shockers b*****ks?

Has anyone used these before? look pretty good and better than Heli-coil by the look of them, usually strip a thread at least once a year and its a bloody pain taking something to get it fixed so if a thumbs up I might invest in a kit. Very usefull for the heavier rider who does a big jump and folds up their cam adjusters and shears the adjuster bolts clean off at the same time Time Serts

Hopefully Dad will see this post later and give you a few tips, he had a 315 for 27 years and knows everything there is about them. Pretty sure Boyesens work really well in them and i think he changed the front brake master cylinder as well as other mods.

Thanks for the Results Pete/Richard Me and Ralph were absolutley **** and deserved a beating with the wooden spoons we got presented with after the Trial hope the Club didnt get deducted any points Pete for our performances not sure what happened really, first time there maybe? but I am convinced my misses would have got a lower score. Managed to skuttle down the drop on the lap one totally out of control at the bottom but got away with a 2, followed by a big five lap 2 and gay non attempt on lap 3. The big triple root step of section 9 wasnt much better, thought I was up for a clean on first lap only to realise a tenth of a second later i wasnt and back down I came, big old scrabble on laps 2 and 3 for threes. Loads of stupid dabs on most sections and the tight in and out of the stream section of 13 (which I should have p****d every lap) cost me a mighty 6 first lap I had two dabs withing the first 40cm on the flat bit Dad will have to chastise us tomorrow for letting the side down I recon, hope hes not to firm with us Anyway to console our selves, me and Ralph are going to the dishes tomorrow and we are going to pretend that we are really good riders, going to set some real easy sections and main road them all pretending they are a Mid Centre Champ Round I have told Ralph that we just aint dedicated enough and need more practice - 20 hours a week just isnt cutting it

Thinking about it, the legend is the best rider out of us lot (by a fair way as well) this is how he would tackle the section...........slow controlled descent to the bottom....16 back wheel hops and 34 front wheel ones..........3 minutes balancing and re-aligning his Scott clothing out his a***.........realising hes not quite lined up quite right,reverses his way back up the hill for another go........early nineties style clean 8 minutes later

Pete, Ralph has become abit of a master at these turns of late shame he spoils it with 7 dabs on the way down the hill and 11 going up after a nice clean turn. Bit like my 28 on section 4 yesterday

Got mine with Benetts, 82 quid TPFT, depends on how old you are and when you passed your test as well I expect, did mine in 1971. I had my Enduro with E Bike, nice and cheap but quoted 160 quid for the Rev3 so went to benetts. Policy is actually underwritten by Norwich Union so worth a try there direct.

Ralph on the other hand would do a 180 flick turn at the bottom followed by 20-25 totally unnecessary back wheel hops up the hill with his tongue out

This is how Dad would do the turn.................On the way down the hill flick the back wheel in the air so it lands 90 degrees to the bank at the bottom, as the suspension rebounds have another back wheel hop 45 degrees imediatley followed by a float of the front to straighten up. Weight well back and go.Nice!!!! couple of back wheel hops near the top for good measure. As baldilocks and scorpa3 say, weight back and try and lift the front wheel slightly off the ground untill its straight,if its slightly touching it will push, front wheel cant washout if its in the air. Before you lift and float around the bend look for a point to aim for and look up the hill all the time (I tend to look at the tank alot) your not trying to do a wheelie though so dont snatch at the throttle or clutch or the back will spin or it will lift to much for the hill.

Geoff Capes couldnt have pulled a greasy stick out of mine or ralphs arses whilst going down that drop they were clenched that tight. Ditch jump was good, something different, did anyone not make it over????? or try to ride in and out

Great Trial today Pete , very big job setting that one out over such a long lap. As you say thanks to all the observers/helpers and club, weather was spot on and the sections perfect for such a hot day. My money is on Mr Cowley for the win today , Hicko seemd to drop a fair few early on but might have pulled a load back later in the trial. Liam had a very good ride as well,he does like his flick turns doesnt he,very nearly put Ralph to shame. Me and Ralph cleared out Nicks Burger Van after the Trial ,Ralph apparently tried before the Trial as well but the stock levels were to high at 9am even for him. Thanks Pete/Stratford upon Avon MCC for a great days riding PS if that drop off on section 1 is in the Trial next year i aint coming

wheelspintom, I ve got the switch on the Caby, I have taped it up on stage 1, the only difference I personally have noticed on stage 2 is that it runs bad on most sections,like its very rich,might only come into its own at very high revs but not so good low down. Not needed to try stage 2 on any climbs or steps yet, number 1 map/setting is plenty on the 290 as it is

Please keep an eye on the web site link for updates, this is not a cancellation notice for anyone going just an advance notice of how things stand at the moment. If you know anyone riding but may not see this please keep them updated next week. Saturday 4th August Hi all, I am just sending this email as an early warning that there is a possibility that we may have to cancel the Longmynd Trophy Trial. I am sure by now that most of you are aware that there has been an outbreak of Foot and Mouth near Guildford, Surrey and the seriousness of this for the farming community cannot be emphasised enough. This is what I have posted on website at present & please do keep visiting the site (www.southshropshiremcc.co.uk) to keep updated and I will endeavour to keep you as informed as I can via email. At present, we are still continuing with all preparations for the Longmynd Trophy Trial. All sections are marked out and where necessary paths strimmed etc and routes marked between sections around the venues. Our club relies on the goodwill of the farming community,i.e. the landowners of our venues and we will respect any decision they make regarding trials bikes accessing their land. The Longmynd Trophy Trial includes 10 groups over 9 different venues so you will understand if farmers do not wish us to travel from one to the other. Saturday evening update (04/08/07):- I have spoken to the majority of landowners tonight and they are willing to wait until Tuesday to see what news is given and to get an update on what is happening. So we are playing the waiting game at present; a: to get an accurate update from DEFRA and b: to see what advice the ACU is recommending. However, there is a fairly strong chance of cancellation as the club has a responsibility to our local farming community and to promote motorbike sport in a positive light.
