  1. Great result! Let us know in a week or two if it is still all good.
  2. Put a large sledge hammer against the one fork as a back up. Then push it through.(Tap it , don`t break it) Have had this happen even on a new bike.
  3. Have you already installed a 10 tooth counter shaft sprocket?
  4. Actually the Sidi Discovery would be my choice for protection. Had a pair several years ago, but you need a narrow foot to fit properly.
  5. http://advrider.com/...ad.php?t=574301 Here is a thread about our crazy club members competing on ty80`s. Page 11 shows the most improvement to a ty is new peg mounts. Have fun.
  6. Toni and Fuji have been using that motor all year.
  7. Thanks for that Charlie! They go up to size 16 (49), my son is almost a 15!
  8. Dad of two. The boots have always been available. They are motocross boots. Do you not remember `the old days` before trials boots. My son just got the shock of wearing the stiff moto- cross crap. Trials boots no longer fit him.

A lot can happen in 15 yrs. Only sure way is measure the bore/piston.
  10. You never know with Gas Gas.(Actually this happens with all brands) You could of had an early `07 so you get what is on the shelf.
  11. If you were interested in easy starting why a 300 at sea level? The only reason to have a big bore is at high altitude!
  12. Well Mokwepa, I`ve had more Beta`s than any brand. I usually went lower on the front. Not for more acceleration in first, but a more useable 2nd. ( It does always bring top speed lower, but awesome 5th gear wheelies.) I`ve bought several left over world round bikes, always a little strange on gearing and always lower. (slower) But not for a lower first.

  14. There was a large discussion of this on the Beta forum. http://www.trialscen...__ paoli
  15. You are not going to find them online. Don`t be shy, call your dealer or importer. We did it that way for decades.
  16. There is a strange plus side. I never even get close to having arm pump, since I can hardly hold on!
  17. You are going to remove the forks. But just remove the caps from the tube and slide the tube just far enough to add the spacer. Not draining the oil might be hard. You could drain it out the top and re-use.
  18. I tried to reply on the other day but the post got lost. Just a plastic spacer off a water pipe will do. Somewhere from 10-20mm. I would just pull the top off the springs. It can be done without everything coming apart. The slit idea leaves too much room for failure.
  19. Unfortunately it also seems to be a thing with age. I`ve had it pretty bad going on four years now. The only thing I have not tried is acupuncture. It was so bad at one point every bump and stone hurt weather on a motorcycle or bike. Worst thing is the pain screws up your timing. I feel almost normal if I don`t ride. I started trials in `72 and do not plan on quitting. Vintage has become looking pretty good. By the way my wife`s been in physical therapy since `95 so I`ve seen, heard, been tortured and helped in all sort of ways. Good luck, stretching is the best.
  20. Graham`s team could care less about trials is all.
  21. You have got air that is trapped. Very frustrating. Get that rear caliper way above the master cylinder and work it from there. If it is real bad let it sit a few days that way.
  22. BetaRambo has spent considerable time building bikes for his daughter. He has come up with quite a few unique projects. Here is a picture of myself trying to get hurt on one of them. They are quite fun.
  23. I was not implying condition, just it could be easily time for mains. I always feel you should keep a ty mono running, as they were great machines.
  24. It is pretty easy on the flywheel side to check. Other side not easy. Just take the cover off and grab the flywheel, try to move it up and down. Not in and out, should be no play. Bike seems to have just a few too many hours on it. Good luck.
  25. You have to check compression with a gauge, not that it is hard to kick.
