  1. Pulled apart an `03 Pro 280 today. Sure enough, no bearings, just a bush!
  2. Got to have a tube to hold the bead. How about a bicycle tire within the front tire?
  3. Last time I shipped a Bike I used http://www.freightcenter.com/?utm_campaign=Primary&utm_content=FreightCenter&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term={QueryString}&kw=freightcenter&match=e&gclid=CNS6wciUrbsCFew7MgodYlwAvQ Got a low price and had many shipper choices. You have to follow the instructions closely or there could be hidden costs. Mine went from Albuquerque to Kansas City for 160.00 and that was in a trials motorcycle crate. Good luck.
  4. Thanks for that, I had to think about it a moment. It makes sense. The Beta that I had was a bike I had owned previously with no issues. I always wondered what had caused that!!!
  5. I had a Beta that would do this just once or twice a day. Never did figure it out. Replaced new master and new slave cylinder. Bled like crazy, but it only did it going uphill under power. We have a video of it on our clubs thread on adventure rider. It looks like I can`t ride as the bike just pulls away from me, all the while I`m trying to get the clutch to work. My son loves to watch that clip. Good luck and let us now what you find out!
  6. No matter what brand of motorcycle, when you have two clutch push rod`s there is usually a ball bearing. Washer probably was stuck to something you did not notice. Good Luck.
  7. Probably got some air in there when you tossed the bike on the ground.
  8. We have a guy that uses his middle finger for both the clutch and brake. His reasoning it gives him better grip on the bars. There now you have a new option Charlie!
  9. I never found any. We used to just weld an extension from an old foot peg. You can still buy just the extender to weld on.
  10. If you have never ridden trials and a little out of shape due to you injuries, I would recommend the Beta Evo 200. Trials is all about control, too much power and you are all over, too little and you are working the body to make it work. The 200 is often overlooked.
  11. Did you have the clutch apart. The pressure plate could be misaligned.
  12. No matter how much work you have done for the club, some good fun while trespassing could negate it in minutes. If I stepped on or in something I think I would hit the delete B.
  13. While it is a cool video most all the places they are riding with out permission. (Trespassing on bikes have closed a lot of areas) Pay attention to the opening comments. So they could be causing a very negative impact on the local riders. We 50 year olds have fought long and hard to keep the riding areas open. The next time you are riding (Riding a boring muddy field appeals to me much better than playing X-box at home.) you might thank the old guys for a place to ride!
  14. Are you sure that the old bearing races are not still in there?
  15. Are you sure the carb or radiator did not leak onto it? Just lookin` it seems ok. Just keep an eye on it.
  16. I would pull it apart before you start replacing parts. The sherco has a piece that mounts to the end of the shift drum. This has roll pins for the shifter actuating arm to catch to rotate the drum. I would inspect this closely before anything else.

    Smoking?

As much as you ride, change it once a month. Does everyone run H1R? It really does not burn real clean. 80;1 would help.
  18. I understand that it sounds like fuel. I have seen several bikes with poor connections at the cdi. Make sure all the pins are pulled out in the proper placement at all the plugs in the wiring harness. Would hate to think you are chasing the wrong problem.
  19. Yes, the early box was steel. I do like Jon`s idea of brake fluid as an alternative. But a torch will burn all deposits away. Dangerous and messy yes, but so is most methods.
  20. Glenn, the funny thing about K&N`s. They were invented in Albuquerque and made in the back room of the local Yamaha shop I used to work at ! Small world. It was actually a male nurse (motorcycle enthusiast) that came up with the gauze idea! Quote; Many of you may of known Red Daley personally or through his motorcycle background with K&N Yamaha either in Riverside, California or in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Or from his Daley's Speed Shop business, from racing, engine building, machinist, welder. Or from the annual Charlie Frazier Motorcycle Gathering. Red helped a number of AMA GNC riders, including Mike Kidd. Red, Norm McDonald and Mike Kidd at the Astrodome. Kidd writes: "Red, Norm and I made a great team, taking second at our first national together at the Astrodome in '72" His accomplishments, inventions, innovations, and contributions to the Motorcycle Racing world are too numerous to list here. Among the major ones is the development of the K&N Air Filter, from infancy. Norm and Lucy purchased the first equipment and design from a mechanic who worked out of the back of the Albuquerque, New Mexico Bobby J's Yamaha shop. K&N Performance Products took the mock up product, and made it into the filter we all knew of or owned. Kenny, Norm and Red worked together to construct the first marketable K&N filter, with Red working on the vulcanize process for the connectors and end caps. To me Red was my business partner in race promotions, sponsor, engine machinist, performance guru, second father, and most of all one of my best friends. Red passed away Thursday from natural causes at Tulsa Regional OSU Hospital in Tulsa. Quote; Some interesting history. Bob
  21. You are about halfway there. Towards the end is a bunch of noobs that can`t see the light of day with real world jetting. Being you have already fixed the carb , it becomes pretty laughable that people insist on jetting wrong
  22. I would replace the condenser again and check the grounds.
