If you look at the bearing race, it is quite noticeable if the bearing is the problem.

I enjoyed the penny trick. I bought one of these http://www.bikebandi...CFbBFMgod8RwArQ twenty years ago and it`s been less than a minute to have both bearings out ever since.

Just remember just because it is a `new` kit does not mean it is actually the correct specs. Still measure the finger height. If it is a little low, some of the friction pad needs to come off. Our importer here always recommended burning it `in` in fourth gear. (Tire against an obstacle and really abusing the clutch) There is also a video floating around of sanding the friction discs.

This is what you need.

I have not heard of removing the cap again. The right fork the most important thing is you pumped all the air out of the bottom using the rod. You can see this in the Sherco link above.
-
Chris, the clutch pack has to be with in specs. The main measurement is the finger height. There are many videos on this on the net. The clutch on the pro works fine if it is set up correctly. No change of oil or bleeding will fix this.

I have a friend that has ridden for years using the middle finger. Maybe that will help, being the longest finger. He says it gives him better grip!
-
If I remember right, at least on the Aprilia the detent bolt also holds a spring that can be sprung when the bolt is removed.

I would try a 35 or 36 pilot and go from there. Check out this post.

44 is a huge size pilot. Also which carb are you using and what elevation/location.

Always get the bike warm enough to check that the fan comes on. Which means the thermostat and other components are working. And on the subject of questionable deals. It`s far better to buy from a known trials rider than a rider that has just been out abusing a trials bike.

Have you read this post, Woody had a few suggestions.

No, they should not leak. Usually just requires a new gasket. Does leak when parked, or only when you ride it? If it leaks only when ridden, check the kick start seal as it is easy to become pushed out.

Gas Gas Usa shows 146lbs in 2003 and Gas Gas UK shows 67k for 2014. Same company same weight.

Not enough to matter. I believe the 2002 had mag cases.

Second cap is the overflow.

If your bike has all the original stickers it could be worth keeping. I have had many bikes through the years. I never imagined I would ever ride vintage. Looking back there is three bikes I should have kept. I bought a new ty350 and sold my TL250 with a 300 kit and all the frame mods. I had a clean 1984 350 Montesa and a showroom condition Gagiva 350. All bikes seemed worthless at the time, all of which I wished I had now. ( The Gagiva is still like new, a collector bought it). Besides it is always great to have a spare to bring other riders into the sport.

My wife finally got back on a bike about two years ago. In `93 I bought her a TLR200. She lasted about two hours until she launched it in a tree. The wide open throttle is the worst problem we have and the lanyard does not over come panic in a rider. I`ve had many vehicles since the 70`s with the tether switches. In fact I bought one for my trials bike in the mid 90`s. I still have it in the original package. I`ve thought about this longer than most. Interesting thing when I scored the world round in the USA, a couple riders just looped it on the bars.

Oh , I knew someone would respond. I understand it was posted under youth. I`m surprised how fast the idea has spread. Motorcycles are dangerous. Being competitive I`m not liking an accidental 5 from the ignition shut down, or a dnf from a missing lanyard. Been sitting about 50/50 on this issue. Thanks for replying. Seen any of the moto x guys changing to this? We have had a few of the eastern clubs go to this already.

Make sure you ride it. Get it hot, make the fan work. No matter the brand you want the cooling system to work before purchase.
-
Should be a second hole in the shroud next to the gas cap.
-
You flooded the cylinder, had nothing to do with the mix.
-
The funny thing is the switches have been around for decades now. Anyone can see why the world riders could use them as the obstacles are just insane at times. I can almost agree with the kids. I have ridden for 42 years now and honestly say I do not remember a crash (I have had some great ones!)that the tether would have done much good. Being it is a competitive sport, I see more problems than solutions. Anyone with half a brain can wire it just for looks. So when someone crashes and is injured due to the lanyard being pulled, what then? Just curious.

Info, What does the plug look like? Has it been sitting a long time? If the rod or bearing is bad, it cares not if it is hot or cold.
-
An o-ring chain has may applications. One of them is not on a trials bike. They are heavy and power robbing. How many miles do you think you ride every time out? Our bikes usually have low miles , high hours. I usually go through two standard chains per a set of sprockets, which is still cheaper than one o-ring chain. (I know that you learned that was not proper, but our sport is quite different.)
