  1. Loosen the front pipe to give a little more flex. And yes you need a little sealant on the pipe at the joint. Silicon.
  2. Unless you are lucky enough to still be able to ride deep streams, just cut a notch in the bottom of the flywheel cover. Draining any more is more important than waterproofing.

  4. Actually a Beta 200 might be worth a look. Any 125 requires quite a bit of clutch work. And any new bike feels half the weight of the old techno.

    Cdi Location

It sat just above the petcock. It was not a great choice, I always ran on reserve because I had the cdi break the petcock in the on position.
  6. The left hand bearing on a pro is lubed by the tranny oil.
  7. It is possible to pack the silencer too tight to make it choke itself. Also change to another new plug, just to rule it out.
  8. Is it a reflection or are the gears damaged?
  9. I`ve had several ACL repairs. I have used knee braces now for twenty years. I would or could not ride hard without them.
  10. It`s the stop for the kick start shaft, gave you the diagram. It is supposed to be tight. Once removed it releases the spring tension usually or shaft is displaced. Been that way since the first Beta`s. It`s obvious if you ever completely stripped a motor.
  11. Yes, the jets are each marked. Main should be 150, the pilot 27.5 or 30.
  12. http://www.americanb...roke Engine.pdf Page 20 kick start gear.
  13. Sounds more like it was removed and put back in. Probably need to pull off the primary case and reset the kick start shaft
  14. I`d flat out ask him what oil and mix he used. I`ve got two nephews that can break any motorcycle in just a matter of days. That seems to be the case of just abuse, deliberate or not. I`ve never seen a head like that. Was the rod locked up?
  15. He`s running one of our after markets (FMF) with a Forest approved spark arrestor. Our fine government thinks motorcycles are the source of all fires!
  16. Maybe putting the ty engine in it, would be a novel idea.
  17. I want to say it was called an RTX. http://www.angelfire.com/biz3/rtx/rtxtr.html
  18. It looks like it does not belong there. But as long as you do not have an air leak you should be okay.
  19. Nice bike. Looks like it was just touched up with paint. The lower chain guard was trimmed up too. Still very nice shape for the year.

    Bar Risers

So are those inserts for fat bars?
  22. HTR Doug has the right idea. Longer shocks are a quick fix to make it turn better, but at the expense of getting the front end up easily. I cut my own frame 30 years ago it was quite easy. At the time there was a step by step article in a magazine. (Unbelievable a real trials article in the USA) I wish I would of pulled it in just a little more.
  23. No, you will have to clean the carb. Put a bucket under the bike.
  24. Take the top shock bolt out. That will also remove the rear sub frame. Should give you plenty of room.
  25. That`s a five, the Pro motor does not work that way! If you have never worked on a Pro motor, it is totally different!! The motor has to be split on the Pro for the shift shaft to be removed.
