  1. No riding above that point. We stay mainly in the arroyos riding solid sandstone in the canyons. This is BLM land that we have had designated a trials only area since 1978. Of course its open to the public. Hikers and mountain bikers are always amazed at how clean and beautiful we keep it. Almost a square mile of trials paradise.
  2. Well, most trials bikes have no frame under the motor. They tried fiber glass/ plastic on Ossa and Yamaha. I could ruin one of those on a regular weekend without even trying.
  3. They are thirsty. Some guys block off the over flow to stop the spillage, every little bit helps. Small damn tank compared to the Beta.
  4. I know of three husbands in our club that bought the wives Beta 80's. Two now ride electric bicycles and the third walks. Not everyone has the ability to ride a motorcycle.
  5. If the Montesa is clean, thats a great bike. Tbe 125 for the wife. Also a Beta 80 sr would be good for her.

    Beta Tr34

    The choke circuit needs cleaned.
  7. If the piston does not return all the way, it will not release fluid back to the resivoir. So it keeps building pressure untl the brakes lock.
  8. It over heats because does not have enough free play. Or/and it does not have enough free play because your m/c is bad. Happens all the time
  9. P.S . You have to leave a little air gap, so do not fill all the way or any trials bike eill spit out coolant as they have no over fliw tank.
  10. Its May, just run it with the bypass Its not going to hurt it. Maybe by winter someine will have it figured out.

    Gas Gas Help

Best thing is to change it, that will give you a base line on the glass.
  12. Probably need to check your oil and pull the water pump apart and look to see if it has leaked into the oil.
  13. The Beta clutch fix is marginal at best. The Beta actually needed a shim to work properly. The Jap riders had been doing that for decades. The clutch on the Pro was a mess for years. Cleaning glue from plates had nothing to do with its problems. Just so happened I was a trials dealer through those Happy Days!
  14. The Beta clutch fix has nothing to do with a gasser. You need to have the finger height correct, which will give it more throw. Also atf is more likely to help with the clutch drag.
  15. The Pro clutch can be a little hard to get right. The original spring might be needed. The finger height has to be right or the pull is very hard. Good luck.
  16. I believe it was 17 mm. It needs to be thinner to get that height. The easiest way is to get the bike warmed up, stick it in fourth gear against a wall and give the clutch hell. Otherwise there is a few videos to show how to do it by hand. When the pro first came out you could get as small as a 1.3. I save all I come across, must have enough to be a deck of cards.
  17. He does not want to shut down. He just wants to talk!

  19. I bought my bike in July of 2021. I never had a problem till May of 2022 when it stalled in a section and ran like crap on the loop.It was a very hot day though. It was not till about October I finally put the tach on. Usually runs great 99.9% of the time. I just love it at my age. Solid as a rock.
  20. Mine starts about 1750 and I let it idle till I see several over 2000. It pops over 2100 with the fan on. I do this every time I restart. Mainly after I walk a section. My bike ran like crap Sunday at the start of the event. I turned around before I got on the loop, parked it. Reset the ECU and did my usual start up. Got to section one and took my only point of the day. It ran perfect after that.

    TY175 Clutch

The actuator could have been alot of the issue. CLEAN it up and grease it generously going back together
  22. If you have the adjuster too tight in the first place the piston does not travel far enough to work. Everybody tries to adjust it just right, and it back fires on them. If you are trying to get the lever closer to the bar, it is possible to shorten the push pin. But do it in small steps and best to have a spare on hand.
  23. Yeah, we do alot of elevation changes. You take a 4rt up to 12000 ft elevation and the thing won't start until you open up the idle screw. I thought I could just do it by ear. No, almost but not well enough.
