  1. I loved my 2016 Factory 250. One of the best bikes I ever owned. I still see that bike at every event. I should still be riding it. I would have saved 20,000 dollars. Hind sight is a funny animal. The fragile plastics is a myth. I rode that bike hard for three years and never broke either fender! The proper clutch fix is to shim the thrust washer on the pressure plate. I just bought my Grandson a like new 2015. Perfect bike for most riders! Do it!

    Kicking back

Also if ypu are a lazy kicker holding the lever down too long, any bike will seem to kick back.

    Kicking back

You did try a new plug?
  4. Try it with the gas cap off the bike. If the tank is not venting, it will not get fuel.
  5. Our club started around 1970. I started in 1972. We started with novice, semi expert and expert. We now run 5 classes in the a.m. and 5 classesin the pm. We have one of the most popular clubs, even though our state has a small population. Our biggest draw is we all camp. Most of our events are 2 day events. Even a one day event draws people to camp 2 nights. We have done the 10 classes for about 3 decades. This club will never conform to most anything else. Our Semi class has been renamed multiple times and it some how reverts back to semi expert. It was originally a class that rode the hard line, but it was up and coming experts. Now its full of old champs, masters and experts. They have tried to cut in half with a sr title. Wont work. We call it the shark tank. Average 15 plus riders. 10 of them could win on any given day. Clubs are spread over hundreds of miles and clubs that have been around forever will never change. That idea comes from a politition mind set. It will never happen. We are free men that run it like we do for our own fun. You can to that on a race track, but my 4 year old grandson can ride that easy ****!
  6. Simple way is first make sure the magnet kill button is attached. Second remove gas line from petcock, turn valve to see if fuel flows. See above post on checking spark.Use choke, lever pulled up. If it still does not start. Turn fuel valve on. Lay the bike on its side. Handle on the ground for five full seconds. The carb should have leaked a little fuel on the ground. It should start in a couple of kicks.

    TL250 Hot Start

The TL250 was prone to over heating. Are you running the stock carb? You might go up a size or two on the pilot.
  8. Dan, your answer is in this thread. Last page if you are in a hurry. https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/new-dunlop-trials-tire-for-2023.1601789/
  9. We have run them without, and no problems. That rubbing can be the fingers are adjusted to high.
  10. The bolt has to be hollow as oil flows through.
  11. Was it put back correctly. It only goes together one way. The finger tower has a notch in it and the pressure plate has an aligning mark.
  12. Wd 40 will totally destroy your pads.
  13. The bite point should be farther out. The lever should never touch your other fingers. You never mentioned what your riding?
  14. I too enjoy using wd40. But I always cover my brakes. Funny how the cause of bike issues always slowly comes out in these threads.
  15. No, the whole thing rides to low to the ground.
  16. P.s. dont be shy, heat them up and douse them good!
  17. You just ride around a few minutes with that brake locked on almost skidding. Almost ends up like a steam clean. First time I ever say it done was Tommi Avala came to do a trials school/demo. Pulled a new bike out of a crate and FIXED the brakes in a few minutes.
  18. I guess you have never used the water trick. Which is the best way to get your brakes working in just a few minutes. Just over heat your rotors and hit them with a bucket of water. Instant sharp brakes.
  19. Ineresting project. But you missed the boat with no ground clearance.
  20. I would never spray my pads with anything. Throw a new set on.
  21. The 250 Beta is a very mellow machine. Much better first bike than the 300 TRS. The bike in the best condition is usually the better buy no matter the price. It will last longer and you will be riding instead of waiting for parts.
  22. I bought a set awhile back. Finally mounted them and only had a marginal ride. The rear does act weird as it does not roll over at all. Seemed to grip ok. 2 weeks and we will have a 2 day event. I will know much more then. My first thought was why did I try this, as I already had spare Michilens. They might actually hold a line better. Worst thing is I also had brand new Sidi's on which really hurt my FEEL.
