TOBY won both days, but barely. Pat tied him Saturday with a clean day. They had a ride off in a really knarly stream bed section. They both three it the first ride. Jitsie will have a video of it.
Sunday Martyn had 1 point. Pat had 5.

Come on if you are so knowledgeable about running diwn the road at the Scottish. Hieght, bars, awkwardness is the least any of the riders are worried about . Its all about the bike!@ Fuel, carburation, cooling and above all TIME@
-
Actually I would not have thought riding on the road would lead you to be making bike changes. And I know plenty about the Scottish. We have had 3 women and 2 men ride it over the years Besides Lewisport began there American adventure with my club. 52 years now I have been riding trials. The Scottish has always impressed me and the SCOTT has always been the opposite.
All this B.S. over a noob that does not like the trials stance. He should have spent a few hours on a real trials steed. Like
the ty250r 1984 model. The best bike ever, until it was not!

Yes, a trials bike is very uncomfortable when running long periods down roads. Thankfully you can stand back up to stretch at any given moment, An early pro model bike is not much different from current bikes as far as trail riding. Just do it more to build up stamina. Once you start riding events, you never think about standing all day as you are focused on riding. Now some of those long down hill sections can sure take a toll. We are talking miles at a time. Zippy is right about the bars. I have been cutting mine down for 52 years now. That`s the first thing anybody notices when they get on my bike.

Drift out with the nut off. Parts will be hard. I fixed a 92 with jb weld and it lasted for years. Have fun.
-
You do not sat during the scottish! D. Lampkin is tall too. Maybe we should change triala bikes to endueo specs. LOL.
-
Hieght has nothing to do with it. My son is 6'6" and laughs at people who complains. Most human bodies are proportionate. Long legs AND long arms mean they have an advantage over short people, not the other way around.
-
You can do alot with railroad ties
-
You might want to take off the flywheel cover and let it all dry out. Try contact cleaner. Then give it time to dry out. Bring it in the house for a day or two.
-
Not all are the same length, spring size, or mount size. Plus Gas Gas has gone bankrupt twice and changed owners 3 times since 2015.
-
Yep, it was the last year of the 321.

Next event is IN Cannon City. Not too many people get events in there home town.

It`s virtually impossible to learn trials correctly without some help from another rider that knows how t ride proper. By yourself you will devolop bad habits that will be hard to resolve. First and foremost is a proper turn on flat ground, then on a hill and then figure 8`s with multi off cambers. When and only when you are doing well you throw some ledges and then mix in some rollers. Splats and zaps will be the last things you need to learn as a roll up has to become automatic as 90% of anything you can ride will be easily conquered with this most basic move. Then the next step is the double blip which cause most people to just give up as there are too many things happening at once.
Again riding with trials riders and competing will speed your progress 10 fold vs by yourself.

The proven setup is 9/44 Super low first. 2nd becomes the most used gear. And 3rd is almost identical to the stock 2nd gear. Being a 6 speed it does not lose much top speed.
-
If you just have to talk to someone with great knowlege of the Montesa 4rts and he stocks most parts.

All three of them handle oem parts. Fact is its faster to order from the uk and cheaper. The only part I would order from a Honda dealer would be the fenders for free shipping. I have done this for years. Best to use the part numbers from your manual.
Partszilla, trials super store or the best is the splatshop in the u.k.

Glad you found something. Even in 98 there were not many choices. The 02 to 08 was a side mounted shock with no linkage is why no one awnsered. Go out and have some fun.
-
It`s all piece by piece and expensive. Also not very easy. Could be a broken intake boot as they are a problem. If its running good otherwise, the muffler could probably need repacked/replaced.
-
A bike is worthless unless it starts.
-
You are wasting your time. Sell it and buy a Beta 200 or a 250.
-
That looks like an A.I. generated post. What garbage the future looks like.
-
When was the last time the bike ran?
-
Red rubber grease is what is needed to rebuild brake calipers. They sure can stick, but time will tell. Braktecs are known to go bad quickly.
-
m As far as the m/c goes the seal does not seat properly, so you screw the tensioner bolt tighter. Once the brakes start heating everything goes bad. Good luck.
