  1. Please send along my best wishes on a speedy recovery! In the brief time I met him at the Youth Nationals in 08, he came accross as a very fine young man!
  2. Joe: Nearly fell off me chair when I read a post from you! Hope you are well, it has been sometime since I have seen you on here or anywhere trials related. Drop me a PM sometime if you get a chance and we can get caught up! Cheers, Steve
  3. Mike and Martin: Thanks so much for you both of your stories about Sandifords. Although I have never had the pleasure personally to meet any of them, your stories totally made me think about my time riding as a Pro rider in the US, as a Canadian and that from what I have seen, the incredible sense of family I have felt amongst the entire trials global community. This I believe is the nucleas of what our sport is about. People who have such a deep love of trials, sometimes transended through generations, such as Sandifords. The overwhelming impressions they have left on riders such as Martin, and Mike, and in my own small end of the world, me, will last a lifetime!!! This to me is why we not only need to keep our sport alive, but continue to support those who also at times, let their personal feelings help motivate business decisions about supporting trials, when surely just plain business sense would tell them its a lost cause. I am sure we all know people like this in our different countries, make sure you let them know how much you appreciate them! steve
  4. Spencer: No worries! I was just curious is all. I too have had those very same thoughts about how cool it would be to have a NATC event in Canada. Ater all, NATC stands for North America Trials Council. Of course, I was also informed that the CMA would not look upon it too kindly. I guess the consalation would be the NAMU events, but they too seem to have fallen by the wayside. Its tough to organize any good National series with the sheer size of our country, and it seems that the US is now suffering from the same pains we do. It is one reason why I believe in the new WEC series. It has been there mandate from the beginning to have 4 events each year for the National Championship. 2 West, and 2 East. It sure seems fair to me. One trip for everyone who wants to make the championship, and events can alternate between clubs each year keeping it fresh! Keep up the good work over there and the progressive thinking! Wouldnt it be cool someday to see a World Round in Whister village!!!! Steve
  5. Spencer: Just curious about what sanctioning body you are thinking of hosting a national, and what time of year. I am holding a WEC national in 2010 in late may early June. It just seems we have so many events, and not enough dates. Would appreciate your input. Steve
  6. Close mate, that is an RTL 250. The TLR is the twinshock version that came out before that model!
  7. Hey Copey: Borus might still be on this site, but not sure what is going on with his business... Have you tried clicking on Xispa Canada in a while, because apparently it does not exist anymore!
  8. Bob Billyard: My apologies to Xispa then ! I was only relaying what I read in a first hand account of the trip from one of the riders. But, I was just making a point that it was difficult for them to supply a bike. I just would have thought that if you are one of the few new importers for their new bike, they should have tried to make it happen for you. If you notice, I never mentioned you in a bad light, or YOUR company, so just take a pill. I think you are a little too sensitive about it. Good luck with your endeavour. Steve
  9. Just read a report from a Canadian TDN member, who said that he( a Scorpa rider, now a bankrupt company) and the ony Xispa sponsored rider in Canada, both found themselves with no bikes being supplied by the manufacturer for the event.... They had to scramble and ended up renting Beta Evos. Wondering how hard its going to be to have a small team at world rounds, when they cannot supply a bike for a rider from a country who has an importer....
  10. Bob: We have been using the same formula now for years up here in Canada. Good riding, and good folks and some great campouts!!!! We seriously need to figure out a way to get an ITSA round out here in the Northwest of North America.. Steve
  11. Congrats to Foordy! He is a great embassador for the sport, just a really nice guy and can ride some too! As well over this past weekend, my son Matt won his first ever National Championship in the Intermediate class at the very young age of 13. By far the youngest in his class. You can go to his website at www.mattfracy.com to get a full report on the event. A very well done series this year, long overdue in this country! Roll on 2010! Steve
  12. I totally agree with you on that one. Having only a 5 speed is really the only fault I can find with my Sherco.
  13. Hi there! I used to know a few trials riders from Hawaii back in the day. Wondering if the names John Domke or Steve Hamber ring a bell to you... Steve
  14. Hey Clive: I bet there is a long list of cities you rode Nationals in the 80s, that have pretty woman who all had the same reaction!!! Might have been the lingering smell of stink bombs that you tried to toss in peoples hotel rooms!
  15. Thanks Bigfoot. mine arrived too. Its brilliant. It keeps locking up on my computer after a certain while though, not sure if its my computer or what. Cheers, Steve
  16. Hi guys: I dont know Eric as well as some of you. I only met him last year at the TTC Youth Nationals. He was very kind, and took the time to say hello to me and my son while we were in the que. I came away with a good feeling about him and watching him ride, knowing that he has some great potential! Keep up the good work Eric! You will be amazed at what you can achieve with hard work and dedication. I my experience, Steve and Joanne, you have raised a couple of very good kids!!! Cheers, Steve
  17. Hoping mine makes it all the way accross the big pond!!!! Looking forward to showing the lad what its really like, well as close as you can without doing it!
  18. OK then all you Fantic fanatics. I let VintageCota have a go on my mighty 300 over the weekend at the Trial. Judging by the smile on his face he like it.......and the review is from Shaun......
  19. GG........would be a perfect fit I think!

Well done Perce, in keeping with the whole rip-off theme here.....those lines are from a Meatloaf song arent they.....
  21. I am defenitely in for one then! I really want my son to see what the whole event is like, so he has an idea when we ride it together. As soon as he is old enough..... Mairi, can you please tell me the min. age to ride their... I thought it was 17, which is the age to ride a bike on the road there! Steve

    Howling Sound

Dude, its probably just your brain trying to figure out what bike you are riding now...... You must change bikes more than your underwear, oops, I forgot, you are from Saltspring. Either dont wear undies, or something made of hemp material.
  23. Fantastic news for you Eric!!! All the best of luck and well wishes from TeamFracy!!!!
