  1. Bob: I think that is an excellent idea that you contact the MCC again and see if can get those funds you are talking about, and please report back to us.
  2. Spencer: I would suggest that YOUR conversations with WTC members are a bit of a farce! As the president of a club, you misrepresented yourself and your intentions and I will discuss this with you when I see you next, not on this forum. As well, you should reserve any or all comments about an organization you know nothing about really. To suggest that funds we have secured through hard work to promote trials in this country, be used for the TDN is slightly dilusional to say the least. That whole system is completely flawed as well, but thats a story for another day. I wish nothing but the best for all the riders competing for Canada and have done fundraising for them in the past. I think you should put your energy into your event, as I know from experience how much work it really is to put on a good one! You can promote your event and your decisions at will, but doing it by trying to dis-credit the other guys is a bit rediculous.
  3. All information about the WTC is available through contacting either Dave or myself, or emailing through the website. 2011 WTC National Schedule May 21/22 Summerland BC July 16/17 Morin Heights, PQ
  4. The WTC is NOT a for profit promoter, despite THAT pitch you have used since we started out! Right now, Outlaw Dave is a private promoter for his National as there is no club in his area. The ATAQ is Quebec who is putting on the other Nationals this year are a former CMA club who have made the switch! The reality is here, that trials is one of the only sports left in Canada that falls under the CMA. Perhaps if you looked at the big picture and the numbers it would be clearer to you that it is inevitable that the WTC will become affiliated with the FIM. Currently, roadracing, motocross, enduro all enjoy excellent success with professionally run series that have flourished since leaving CMA. Trials is now on its way too! Again this year we are offering a 4 event series that spans both sides of the country. Not one weekend event! We have private sponsors on board this year to offer special cash awards for Champ riders with the low loop scores at each National. We have the support of riders (good numbers for events), we now have the support of the motorycycle industry of Canada (MCC) who have awarded the WTC with some great funding, and most of all, we have some great people involved all the way through. These are longtime motorcycle people, who have proven records and the experience in local, National, and Worldwide competition and organizing! It all looks positive, and we will continue to keep working hard on making trials grow in Canada. Besides, I read on another thread that you said we should just be positive, instead of running people down! Have a great day!

    OSSA IN USA

Good one! April fools strikes again!
  6. Steve: I wish I could come over from the island for this one....I will be busy working on my event! The following weekend over here, we also have a classic trial on the Saturday, which is Round1 Of the Outlaw series. The next day as well, a full modern event will take place, so two days of ridinng if you make the trip. I would love to see more of the classic riders from the CPTA come over! We have always offered an A and B line as well!
  7. Yes it is very good too! For all you younguns, if you want to be entertained, listen to the interview with Ryan, and his Dad Jerry! Just a glimpse of what life was like for any of us who conteded the US Nationals in the 80s/90s and some of the incredible tales that were had of trips accross the country!!!
  8. Wow! That is great news!! I am sure Billy will have a great time, and the Scots will enjoy him as well! Good luck Billy! official age??? Steve
  9. I had a 240 for about 5yrs (recently) and it was great! I sold that when a mint condition 300 became available. The 300 geometry is much better and the suspension too. The motor is completely different than the 240, but easier to ride. It pulls like a tractor! I can use 1st to 3rd gear in any section, unlike some other twinshocks here. It is heavier however, so that is the trade off. I got rid of the stock tank which holds enough fuel to ride the entire SSDT on one tank! Aftermarket 200 style tank is mint! I do like the 300 alot! It is for sale however as I only get to use it a few times a year which is a shame. I am not to great on the computer to post a pic, but if you are interested, email me and I can send you a few pictures. Steve
  10. Hi guys: I use a product here in Canada called Castrol Superclean after I have gently washed the bike with my pressure washer....then spray lightly and rinse with the pressure washer... then as Legionairr says, I start the bike let it warm up and a few times up and down the driveway drying the brakes. WD-40 or other such products at crucial pivot points such as levers, footpegs, and general spray at the chain...

    Mr. Z

It is OK John, it seems Copey and I are in the same club as you... we will have to ask Andy how it is tabulated. He has the same score!
  12. The noticeable things that were changed are the rear shock settings, lower bars, the motor just seems to run smoother, hard to put a finger on any one of those, but riding one and getting on the other, Wow!! All I can say! oh and I really like the new longer levers too!
  13. My son just received his 2011 Beta, and wow! The 2010 was an amazing bike, its hard to believe how much nicer the 2011 bike is.
  14. I would be willing to bet, after she is done her apprenticeship in plumbing and entrenched in the family business, trials will become part of her life again. Perhpas not to the level of committment it was, but for fun again!
  15. Is there still a wee pub on the other side while waiting for the Corran ferry??? I remember checking in there for a time control and being miffed as I did not bring any $$$$ not knowing about the pub. When I talked to the lad there and told him I was from Canada, he disappeared for a bit and came back with a nice tall cool pint for me, no charge! Ah the memories!!

  18. This thread and your response is having the opposite effect on me Copey! When YOU are talking about strapping things on, and looking for a butt can........
  19. Hey Clive: How are you liking the Evo so far??? Matt has been on one for over a year now and we love them up here in the Great White North! Happy New Year bud!
  20. Copey: Well first off,no more sympathy from me when you are posh enough to have your own pool! Secondly, thats not real snow, its a dusting of icing sugar and you should be out riding in it! Steve
  21. You would have thought that someone could have lent poor Jeroni a spare set of gear......Perce, or Dabster must have summat that would fit him!
  22. Dustin: Not to worry OK. We trail ride with a lot of different levels of riders. Anywhere from Nanaimo to Victoria. We can also ride right from my house too. You can reach me through this site, or email me direct at teamfracy@shaw.ca Cheers, Steve
  23. Hello: I am not far from you, in Shawnigan Lake. My son and I compete locally and Nationally but also do a lot of free-riding some of the awesome trails of Vancouver Island. We would gladly have you join our group or if you need any info let me know. Steve
  24. Dan: There are two active clubs on the lower island. My club, the ISTC has 600 acres of land to use on the west side of Shawnigan lake. All of our club events have a vintage class in them which is open to any twinshock bike. The Victoria Motorcycle Club also has a vintage class in all of there events too. The crew up your way is very active and does ride every weekend as far as I know. If you have any questions pls email me direct ok. Steve
