  1. We find the clutch on the Beta the best... never drags, and for more advanced techniques, it has a good quick bite to it. It sounds as if the bike you rode did not have good oil in the tranny! email or PM me and I can let you know any other good tips! Steve
  2. We have ridden and been supported by both brands. My two cents worth.... I find the Beta the easiest bike to ride. It tracks very well and grips better than any other bike ( good for that Mi mud) The GG may be a bit lighter. Things I find better on the Beta, 1- transmission, 2- clutch, 3- suspension ( although have not ridden a GG with the Reiger shock, I hear its good. Not a fan of Marzochhi forks), and finally build quality! The best thing I can say is ride both of them to make up your own mind. Everyone has a different opinion! Steve
  3. I like the last post the best! Its a very unfortunate incident to say the least. I have read that Dibs and Browny are good mates. That makes this all a bit tougher for them... Its even more unfortunate that importers ( well I guess just MRS)had to publicly make a statement against another importer. Its too small of a sport for that on any level. MY only thought was when I read this and saw the results, was, that it never would have happened if the trial itself was more difficult for the Champ class. No- stop or not, when the top two lads are pretty much clean for the whole day, to decide a championship, not much fun. Let the dust settle and would have been nicer to have any problems not aired on the forum. Steve
  4. Love it Mark! Now we just have to get those restrictions to nationals....and twinshock, no radial tires.
  5. Glenn ever seen the pictures of the ski/snowmobile conversion kit for a 240?? Now is someone actually had one that works, bet it would fetch a fair bit of coin!
  6. I believe a friend has an actual factory Honda trials bike on display at his bike shop in W.Washington!!
  7. Joes brother Vern still competes in trials in Wa. every once in a while I beieve. Sad to have lost Joe at such a young age! Great flashback Martin! thanks!
  8. Big John: Nice to see that later model twinshocks may be alowed at this event. Its on my bucket list, this and Robregordo in Spain. have to ship out a tasty little Fantic at some point and bunk with me buddy Harry Mckay! One of these days!!! Steve
  9. If you cant find them in UK, email Tryals Shop in Ny Usa. He can ship them and wont take too long!
  10. Copey we just recently updated the 2011 Jeep Wrangler with a 2012 Artic edition with all the goodies and new Pentastar motor! wow what a difference!
  11. Wow! Thanks Dom, I certainly appreciate the offer, and if it works out, will take you up on it! Our house here is always open too. After doing my tour down there through the 80's (man that was a long time ago eh) so many kind people looking after me, its the least I can do to return the favour when folks come through our way!! Steve
  12. Hey Dom: Nice to hear from you! Wow, major surgery sure puts things in perspective...I Hope you are recovering well!! I am all good here...getting old, and watching my kids get bloody big! My son has just turned 16 and riding Expert up here with all the big boys. Plan is to do a full US National series next year. Perhaps we may bump into you, schedule permitting. Take care of yourself! Steve
  13. Martin: You beat me to it when I saw Dom's name on the list! I think its been sometime since he's been on here! How are you??
  14. Beta is the lightest and best 4T out of the box!
  15. Matt is now sponsored by Boyesen and we were sent a set of the new carbon reeds, and some of the dual stage ones. have only tried the carbon and very nice!! If you are wanting some in USA, Tryals shop is the place to look! steve
  16. Hello: We have always used V force in the Betas until this year. The new Boyesen carbon tech reeds are much better and cheaper than the V force. contact Outlawtrials.com steve
  17. MY son has them in his 2012 Beta Evo 3002t and they work very well!!! ( Thanks to support from Mike Komer and Boyesen) Quite different than the V-Force we had before! Just a slight air screw adjustment for us too! Well worth it! Steve
  18. I have a friend who rode one of the senior classes in Ca and apparently was given a 5 when the exhaust from his 4T blew over a marker.....I'm not gonna comment directly because I was not there and did not see the exact way the section was marked. But, for our Nationals, we still use continuous ribbon on each side of the section, using cards only to mark splits for all the different classes. I agree, simpler is way better! Steve
  19. PM Billy T from here, he will answer! He is away at US Nationals this weekend so next week I am sure!
  20. Yes, different spring in the carb, and different jetting from stock.
  21. I recently started looking into how I could improve performance from the Beta 300 4T I am riding. I got some great advice from Ron Lee in the US, but the big help was an old buddy, Billy T. He is of course known for his carb knowledge, and me having never dealt with a diaphram carb, was in need of guidance. His help was invaluable and just wanted to say thanks! His tips have transformed the characteristics of the motor. It really works well stock, but wow, it is amazing to see the real potential of it now! Steve
