  1. Me too! Both Chuck and Mike came to the TTC in 08 for the Youth Nationals when we were there with Matt! We had a great reunion! Other folks from the STRA who were there that day too were, Nelson Crouch ( clerk of the course for the STRA world round in Winchester TN), Parker Lowndes, Steve and Tom Mcneal, Barry Langford! It was awesome to see everyone together again!
  2. Glenn: I am still in contact with Chuck West, the Fantic importer from back then....I will see if he has any info ok? Steve
  3. Glenn: I was riding a well used Montesa 200 that year! But, Kramit is correct about his post. Michaud was on SWM. John Lampkin won the World Round, his first. Gilles Burgat was also on Fantic. that event was in Muenster TX. The weekend before that was Austin, the first round of the Nationals that year. I was riding Sportsman class. I remember coming in from my second loop to hand my card in and looking at the scoreboard, and being shocked that I was in1st place after the first loop scores were posted. My poor little Montesa had rear brake shoes that were worn out, and on the last lap, every time I had to use them top stop and hop, they would lock on because the cam would go past center...... I think I ended up 3rd on the day. I was pretty thrilled, and overwhelmed by the sheer size and scope of the event. Very professional, and so many riders! I was hooked for about 5-6 yrs straight. Steve
  4. It was 1983!!! We barely had color pictures back then! I think I still have a Natc program from that year, and my riding Bib!
  5. Wow! Wish I could help. This event was the very first US National that I ever rode, and I have such fond memories of it! Good luck with your mission! Steve

    Hmmmm

Or just use the right oil and right amount and do nothing to the stock clutch!
  7. I experimented with lots of different oils... any good 10w40 works best. I would try Mobil1 full synthetic 10w40 but make sure its the motorcycle specific oil that is OK for wet clutches

    2013 Evo

Only got ours a week ago so not much to report yet.....except that it looks amazing, and quality is top notch as you would expect. Trans seems smoother stock. Riding position seems exactly the same as 2012.
  11. Glenn, the new Airoh trials helmet is the lightest most comfortable on the market in my opinion!!
  12. For those of you who remember, it was not too long ago when WTC was No-stop! I believe it was in the late 90's, early 2000. The riding was not that much different and the riders quickly adapted their style, by hopping and manouvering the bikes while still in motion. Coming from a total stop allowed background myself, and allowed to backup as well, I was skeptical at first. In the end the riding was no less amazing by the world guys, and I expect that with the talent level of Bou, Raga, Caby etc, the level of riding will be even better! Its not gonna be any less exciting, and I expect you are gonna see things you have never seen before. Its called evolution! the riders will always figure out a way to make it work!
  13. Are you looking to sell it or ride it?
  14. The Boyesen carbon tech reeds are very good! Reasonably priced and make a big diffference. Use an battery powered impact driver with the correct driver bit and will come off no problem.
  15. This is the way to go!!!
  16. Will Duggan is officially the Canadian Champ and best rider in Canada! Congrats Will!
  17. We had a great weekend and the trial itself went off perfectly! Some amazing riding in the Champ shootout and a battle between the top 2 riders in the country, Will Duggan and Thomas Cordner. Local TV did a story on the news about it. You can google CHEK 6 News and find links there for the story from Sunday night and Monday night.....or someone smarter than me on a computer can email me and I will send you the link that can be posted on here! Steve
  18. Got mine last week! I had an original, but somewhere along the line I lost it! great pics for sure! I will be passing this one along to my son! The pics and book have even more meaning for me now, as well after the book was produced, I got to spend alot of time with Bernie when we were both riding for TMI the Fantic importer when he came back to the US to ride the Nationals again and do his schools accross the country. A few of us were even luckier back in 87 to meet his family, and practise with Bernie one day in an area is SoCal that alot of the pictures were taken. We also got an up close tour of Answer products back then too. It was a great week back then! Steve
  19. Sorry, correct number is 250-812-4448. We will have a completely different set of 10 sections each day. Champ riders will only ride two loops of the 10 sections. After all other classes are completed, the Champ riders will ride a set of 5 spectacular sections that have been layed out in the parking lot for easy access for spectators! These 5 sections will be ridden twice! As well, the top 2 Expert riders from each day, will be invited to take place in the Champ shootout, riding modified lines from the Champ riders! These sections will all have sponsors, and there will be cash awards each day! Steve
  20. Hands down, the Beta 80 is the best 80cc full size wheel bike on the market!
  21. A very nice and well done tribute to Bob on the Sactopits website!
  22. Very sad news!! I will always have fond memories of Bob. I had lots of interaction with Bob in the late 80s when I was working at TMI in Tennessee, and Bob was then a Fantic dealer in Ca. Like Kramit said, he had a heart of gold, and was one of those special people who gravitated to others who needed help, most of the time, for no financial gain. RIP Bob! Thoughts go to his family! Has anyone seen his son Bim in years??? Steve
  23. sorry to hear that Glenn....keep searching, someone will have parts. Try Tryals Shop and I can give you email for the ex-Canadian importer as well. Then go to the uk next! Steve
