  1. Thought someone seen him out of gas in the desert?
  2. Oh good then, all works out and I kinda had that inkling that you needed one as well!
  3. I recall having dificulty with one my old Honda CR's as the kicker was on the left(bad knee) side. Got a new CR and the kicker was on the right! Thay bike gave me another bad knee! So now it makes no difference!
  4. I know is is different, yet similar thing that apparently the FIM and has adopted, the fact that even toutching a marker of any sort will get you a 5. Seems this rule has been adopted in the US as well. Personally, I think this a bit harsh, and not in the spirit of the sport that most of us ride. Have things really come to this? Fact is some trials are a bit poorly marked out, but such is life. Hard to hire free labor nowa!
  5. John says all good, paypal sent, so send it on Mairi! You got the addy? Hopefully he will get the check to you, I think he will! Good lad! Paid him a bit extra for the post! Thank You!
  6. Ha, kinda thought that myself when I seen his post! I think it one of those, whatjacallit MASOCHISTICAL things, like "I think I will go change my brake fluid!" Not! That crap can sit there till something rots! There is no reason for it unless otherwise contaminated.
  7. I have ridden them and sold them. I think they are a great budjet tire. Probably work as well as anythin in the mud, yet grip on rocks seems lacking when slick. The Dunlop still seems the best all rounder to me for the dosh, but for many, the Vee will work!
  8. Right then, and thank you both. I need to get the one from Hird as well, so first I shall see if he can just order the one from HL(as I think he is not in delivery range) and then he can just post the two, he has the paypal. I am not conserned with saving the postage, but it does seem easier to just cover it all in one transaction. If he cannot for some reason, I will get back , thanks again Gav and Mairi! MC
  9. Oh good then Michael, you are much nicer than Phillip anyway! Seems to me settings on the Kiehin are not much different on the Sherco for the most. I currently run the OKO(copy) a small bore at 24mm so no apples to apples here. I run the 38 pilot, JJH and am able to set the float level on it a bit lower(21mm as measured) to prevent downhill surge. I have run the 665 Boyesens dual stage reeds for years now, and the bike is butter smooth and progressive off the bottom. Personally, i think the stock reeds a bit abrupt on throttle opening, too aggressive for me. Mike at Tryals Shop had some 665 reeds on the cheap, don't know if he still does? Of course all this is to personal taste and your mileage may vary, wish I could tell you more but that may well give you things to play with. Doo tell! Cheers,
  10. Short answer, YES! it seems! As I have not owned one, I have little experience with the item in question, why do you ask, you Gassr riding CS/!(ala Phillip)
  11. I was on a #38 pilot befor I ever got my '07 to stop pinging on accel. Seems from feedback, many have not need to go that high, specially in UK with their fuel, yet I never though I would need it either, yet seems some of this varies with the carb and so on. The alcohol contents of most fuels seem to influence this I think, which may also vary. All point being, never presume a 36 will fix this, based upon my experience! Mix set accordingly, was sweet after that with the Dellorto, till I changed, then start over with the OKO, which ironically enough ended on the #38 as well.
  12. So it accellerates well initially at WOT and then after a short run at higher speeds it does this? Would you consider it e "bog" or near total los of fuel? As if the bowl is running out? Have not heard from Splatshpo Chris on this as yet, but if that restricter is in the feed line, there could be some swarf in it which would not allow proper flow of fuel to the carb.
  13. That is pretty sick, Jon! Yet at the same time I say that, I could probably find about 90%of the same stuff in my collection. The similarities are remarkable, but I justgotta figuer out which pile I left them in! Home- If I have too many tools, I will have to work too much. Work- A lot! Airport- Another lot! Office!- Which one, see above! If I had to condense it all, well that's what you get! I would throw away the calculous book though! Wonder if Jon has the new 18V Li-Io Makita? SWEET!
  14. This does make me wonder a bit, as he states "starving" running down the road at high rpm! Couple of things come to mind, firat is this immidiate, or does it seem to run out of fuel after a short distance? Second thought being, the bike may well still have the fuel pump surge orface in the carb inlet line, which is a flow limiting device, ad I think basically put there for good reason on the dellorto to help control the float valve under a pressure feed. Sems the Kiehin float valve works better in a control aspect, yet the inline surge orface if smaller than the total demand of the Kiehin jets could be restricting things on the road at high rpm. I do not doo high speed roadwork on any of them so this is just a guess(thought), yet I did think I recall someone increasing the orface size on the Dellorto equipped bikes, so same principal may apply. Thoughts, Chris?
  15. You forgot the new OSSA! Now it really looks the stuff! Not sure I could do the others!

    Levers

Did you get the S3 ones? They feel a bit squareish to me!
  17. Then, of course, someone had to pee! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obJCzRtNzE0
  18. We just put it on repeat, all nignt in the sleep! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHsiP1aLqhU
  19. Both GasGas and Sherco were building the "econo" models a while back, had the same motors with a bit less stuff and I think they were a true bargain for a new bike. Cost similar to that Randunne, with a real motor! Obviously it can be done!
  20. Cheap is a relative term, as many times you get wot you paid for. I think you need to look around your area, as a good 250 Scorpa/Yam, a Mont 315, or a 250 Beta Rev might be up your ally!
  21. Adam, it seems to me the Dominos may well be good as stated, yet I have not tried them. One of the biggest things that happens is tears on the ends of the grips, so one needs "bar ends" in ali or plastic or whatever. These provide a hard surface so the grips do not tear on a tipover. Myself, like many, prefer the medium Renthal grips, as they are thin and tacky to the glove, yet the installation of bar ends to these can be a bit of a chore, as one cannot just simply cut the ends out with a knife or even a razor as the sharp edges left will lead to ripping of the grip. The solution to this requires some time and patience using the small sanding drum on a Dremel tool to carefully work out the end of the grip to the proper dimention so the bar ends fit, the throttle end does not drag and so fourth. It is a pain, but it does work. It sands away the rubber gently rather than tearing and with the hard ends, they are then protected. You need to keep mud /dirt entry to a minimum as compared to a closed end grip, so it needs to be near perfect fitment! Like most stuff, there are trade offs!
  22. That Randunne woould be a hulluva bike if it had a TY 175 motor attached! That chineese made lump in there really puts me off, including lectric ticker. What a joke! Oh yes, I like the bike! There should be more of this design, with proper powerplsnt! As that little 125 is crap!
