Once upon a time lived a beautiful Queen with large breasts. Nick the Dragon Slayer obsessed over the Queen for this reason. He knew that the penalty for his desire would be death should he try to touch them, but he had to try. One day Nick revealed his secret desire to his colleague, Horatio the Physician, the King's chief doctor. Horatio thought about this and said that he could arrange for Nick to more than satisfy his desire, but it would cost him 1000 gold coins to arrange it. Without pause Nick readily agreed to the scheme.
The next day, Horatio made a batch of itching powder and poured a little bit into the Queen's bra while she bathed. Soon after she dressed, the itching commenced and grew intense. Upon being summoned to the Royal Chambers to address this incident, Horatio
informed the King and Queen that only a special saliva, if applied for four hours, would cure this type of itch, and that tests had shown that only the saliva of Nick would work as the antidote to cure the itch.
The King, eager to help his Queen, quickly summoned Nick to their chambers. Horatio then slipped Nick the antidote for the itching powder, which he put into his mouth, and for the next four hours, Nick worked passionately on the Queen's large and magnificent breasts. The Queen's itching was eventually relieved, and Nick left satisfied and hailed as a hero. Upon returning to his chamber, Nick found Horatio demanding his payment of 1000 gold coins. With his obsession now satisfied, Nick couldn't have cared less and, knowing that Horatio could never report this matter to the King, and with a laugh told him to get lost.
The next day, Horatio slipped a massive dose of the same itching powder into the King's underwear. The King immediately summoned Nick.

Yes Biff, this is the case, and somewhat similar to others I think, with the exception of the Gasser Pro which I had stuck in mind at time of brainfart!(beerfart)
You are correct about draining the gearbox, but as far as draining the crankcase, easiest way I know would be to remove the rear mudguard and flip the bike. OR insert a small tube and apply suction, as there may be room for that. One would need the vacume pump! I have all this stuff, many do not.

In my poor simple mind, the words Magnesium and Water Pumps have never been associated ! You are asking for trouble from the start!
Add other things that occur in nature, and? Then add imperfections in the castings! Lets not even get into electrolosys issues. Yet just hope the 100% concentrations of coolant contain enough corrosion inhibitors to do the job, and for what time? As it is normally these ingrediants that wear out in the coolants in the first place.
Why one will do it and another not?
I do think Peters suggestion of just running 100% coolant may be very viable, as in the trials bikes normally do not overheat, thus require less than optimum thermal transer rates, while corrosion issues may prevail in any bike, and if things do get diluted over time, well? Just a better start.
Who is to say really, may be luck of the draw on some? Yet precautions are there!

On the '05, the quantity is 330ml per leg.
Good cleaning and fresh oil of 5wt may go a long way here, although they are different than the later models to some extent.

One of the primary points that I wanted to point out to "tuners" of thest things is the transition circuit. If you follow the operational text and illustrations, you will notice that the first of the two little holes in the bore both sucks and blows! The second blows only, and is the metered one!
So thusly, a pilot jet that is a bit too large can make things over rich and lumpy in the transition zone(1/8) no matter how lean the fuel screw is set.
Add to this the fact that no matter how rich the fuel screw is set(many run near full out at over three turns) this will not give you a good power on the transition because you are still too lean and the needle has not picked up yet. This can lead to a lean pinging, specially at cruise settings on the loop at low openings and constant speed. Under some load!
As it seems that all I can get here are the 'oxy" fuels, and up to 10% ethanol included in the mix in the normal high test pump fuel rated at 93 octane, this may indeed explain why myself and others have had pinging problems at cruise speeds and such.
Where I used to run a primary jet in the 33-35 range, seems I now must run a jet of at least 38 to offset for the alcohol in the fuel and achieve a smooth transition area without ping! This has been a bit daunting i admit, but seems to be the case. I never would have thunk it early on.
And I do think there is a bit of a plus in being able to run the idle settings at a much more reasonable 2 turn range, well within the controllability of the screw, rather than running them full out at 3-3.5 turns to achieve good idle and response.

The bolt should tighten against the flange end of the bushing. The bearing(and pedal) should rotate freely on the bushing.

I know this has come up before in some sense, but in looking for advise to others, I am unsure!
In the case of multi day trials, 2-3 or more, such as the Scottish even, IS there a preferred diatery intake, other than beer, that replenishes muscle loss and overdoing? Over the time?
After first day, supper of ? to replenish for the next day? Breakfast of what? Which is best? More carbs in the eve, more protien in the morn, Pizza, beef, eggs or sausages? Something, anything?
I know there must be some dietary science to this replinshment, other than beer!

Here is a helpful file of information that relates to the Dellorto carbs used on many bikes. You should be able to open it, click "file" then "save as", so you may keep a copy on hand for referance. It has a lot of good tuning and theory of operation information.
Although not trials specific, most all here applies.
There are some hint and tips I shall expound upon later.
I do think this referance material is worthy of a 'stickie, if SOMEONE finds it! It is well done.

Neo, I would like to help, but I do not think my early '07 frame is any different from yours.
Post a piccie of the thing, I have never seen one cracked.
I was told that the "T" weld was done to spread the load in that area. But I do not have a newer one to compare. Heating the area to normalize after welding may also be helpfull.
I have heard that a number of replacement frames were sent out early on. Might be worth checking with your importer?

The long brass tube with the o-ring that fits snugly against the bowl when installed, contains the choke jet. You should insure the o-ring is in good condition, remove and clean the jet and blow through the passage with compressed air to insure it is clean. Also insure the well in the bowl is clean and free of water.

No it will not!
It is a normal condition, and must be made aware, or you young dumplings might continue to run into things! Even a 125 is hard to stop!
I will put out some pointers for you punters!
From cold and sat, place it in 4th ot 5th gear, pull the clutch, and rock the bike untill it rolls smoothly!
Using the same method, you may use the kicker(slowly) while holding the bike back. A good doublecheck!
Fresh oil in the gearbox may help, do not trust it!
Do not trust ANYTHING, and always be sure you are pointed properly BEFORE placing into gear! Use your head and do not rush your procedure!
The colder it is, well go figure! You do not really to rev the motor to much off cold anyway, you may stick a piston!
So be smart and safe!

Just one, try to insure your spring has not sagged too much. A drop of the rear under only the weight of the bike of around 20-30mm would be ok.
If yours drops more than this when picking up and letting go the rear, you need to twist the spring up a bit on the shocker.

I presume they are available worldwide, yet the quantity would be limited.
What year was it Gasgas produced both old and new models? Maybe '02 when the Pro came out? One might have been better off with the old one it seems.
These are not such a radical difference, still same proven basic design. The new ones are better, but will they make you a better rider? No!
I think all the new bikes are overpriced, and much like other things in the overall economy, new bike prices got out of hand.
Probably why they are not even trying to sell the $10k Monts here.
