  1. I have heard this term before, gives a wierd impression to me, as you certainly do not want to be rigid on the bike! Quite the opposite! As an add to Ralphy's thought and impression, fore and aft, staying centered over the bike and letting it work under you!
  2. Well, if I had to take a guess by the photos, The piston looks pretty good, and the rust in the cylender mostly superficial, nothind that a good cleanup would not suffice! Problem seems to be your crank bearings are siezed, if it will not turn. This is a bad indication, and even if you get it to break loose by soaking, and turning, the bearings will be damaged and will totally fail shortly thereafter. Wish I had better thoughts for you, but looks like a complete split of the cases is in order.
  3. I think he could use his new links to Sherco and spend a bit of quality time in Spain training with a few mates! Might take a few arrangements, but? The thing is, he is soo good, well every bit counts!

    Dabster Is Due!

I figure he has the new kit by now and is ready to give a report on the EVO! What do the things weigh? anyweigh!
  5. It's all good, shut up Craig!
  6. Well, I did carry over the J-pegs as well, just to add to even the '07! Feel really good! I did forget to mention the '07 came with the Fatbars, which have been good I think! Pity you changed, as I have this beautiful set ov Blue Renthal's that I can no longer use, new in the bag! I was just waiting for you to have a really good crash! I spent last year's money doing the rims to red! And although I have not done a lot of comps this year, mainly due to the other stuff as you might notice ! 0h............, the airplane project has taken its toll in time and money! Cannot believe your shock has held this far?
  7. This is what happens when you have been snowed in for too long!

    Shakera

Have you seen the real video? I have not seen it in months, but every time I think of it the ming rattles and the eyeballs shake! The wifey took us to a birthday party at a Greek resturant just a while back, they have this dancer that is just as much! I kept having to go outside to smoke, and the wifey got peed, serves her right!
  9. I think the rear shock on the '06 gave more problems than anything, due to leaking oil. As compared to a Bets, the rear linkage must be kept up, you know. The '07 had a bit lower pegs, adding to stability a bit, but to someone like NoJive, makes little difference! My early '07 has been a treat, and two years on, I have no actual reason to replace it, as it is well massaged and tuned for me.
  10. The bikes are all the same size really, adjustments on bars and such make them feel different. Some weigh a bit more than others, but your first advice seems sound, a good clean bike should do you well to learn on! A good rider on a less powerful bike will beat the lessers at the end of the day! A Beta 200 or 250 comes to mind, or a nice Scorpa TY!
  11. Does seem a bit odd what you are describing. All I can think is if the lever action and engagement point seem otherwise normal, the plates must be warped. Yet at the same time, my experience was that this was worse cold and improved as things warmed up. Were you able to blow through the breather tube? Yet even when this occurs, the result is usually a slack lever initially, as the piston has been pushed back. Check to see if the true engagement point varies or things seem to bleed down. Be sure the fluid is full, as in removing the cap and working the lever to expell any air in the system. Diaphram should displace any remaining air in reassembly so sight glass should indicate totally full. So a bit overfull, then collect excess. M2C
  12. To quote a line before your time, "I was born a poor black child" ! Everything is normal!
  13. Oh it's not that the shocker will not work, as it has worked, but it just seems to me they just drilled holes and bolted it on the Sherco arm? Not quite sure about all that, as that swingarm was not designed for it. Mounting location to the frame different too, and not anywhere sure how they made the space, as the Beta shock is fat! A lot to re- engineer?

    Fuel ?

I have run the AVGAS for years with no problem, EXCEPT it does not seem to like hot weather and seemes to vaporlock, as it is blended to atomize well at cooler temps(altitude). Biggest problem is on hot restarts, like after a quick getoff to walk a section! Other than that, fine, and has good long shelf life!
  15. I am just not sure we will see this thing, Ham! All BS aside, as there been nothing to do but bitch on this thread, the development and production costs alone costs alone would be prohibitive in this climate. Then they went and changed the rear suspension to something that may not work correctly. More problems! Just how this economic model would ever fit, I am not sure? For some reason, I think this thread is dead! If that is true, I pity the lad that put up for the UK !
  16. Looking Good! Thought we had a glimpse of Caby there for a moment! He should do well!
  17. There are a good group of riders out there. Enjoy! Trials is a bit like golf, it is better if you do not get mad and bend your club!
  18. Yup, cannot afford the bud light, gave away all the good Cactus Juice, I got this cheap wine for the NewYears, just waiting for the balls to drop! Cheers to you lot,

    Gear Box Oil

If you want better feel and progression, use the spec 10-40 gear oil! iF YOU WANT IT QUICKER , USE THE ATF! iF YOU, aer numb, it matters little!
  20. Jon, the fab 150 uses the Conti O-200 motor which creates 100 screaming HP at about 2750rpm on a good day! Mine is a '76 M model, last of the '150s really, as there were only few built in '77 before the change to the '152" model with the Lycoming which had its advantages and disadvantages, but still the same basic airframe untill end of production. They are a workhorse, and were the basic trainers for many years, and still are! This is the second one I have basically recovered from the junk yard as a labor of love. As the pure economics do not count if one considers his time and effort! Time has been an issue on this one, because I have been split! Between riding mostly, and the pure cost of things! The paint and materials alone cost about a grand! The endless hours of labor? Well, all I can san say is it will likely be the last one that I do! As I have really laid off riding this year to get some progress on this thing (time and money) , seems as though I am back to near the point where even more money is required to finish out the interior. Not done quite yet! And this will effect the checkbook! Biff, there is a nice little airport near TTC, in Jasper i think, I have considered this, as could do it in about 5-6 hours I think, one fuel stop! Weather permitting! Parts as you stated! Slapshot, It has probably been done, but not for me! TOO much water, not that I am totally immune, as I have flown the Cessnas to the Bahamas. Made three trips to Florida in the 150's, two of which were over the gulf(lots of water), I still prefer the jets! Fact is, even in the Volksvagen, I could probably get an airline tick. Not as much fun, though you have had the spoils of the top jets! The only way to go! Yet all said, there are still a few moments left I think, for those supreme times just above the clouds, about sunset, or sunrise! In a POS! Awesome!
  21. And just to reiterate, even one drop of water condensation or a bit of dirt can really cause issues like this! Many times you will never spot the culprit! I was never satisfied with the single bowl vent on the Kiehin that pointed toward the muff. Easily blocked without the ability to see it, and to close proximity to the muff to get a hose on it. So I drilled out the bowl vent tap on the Left side and installed a short downward hose as a secondary. As you see, if the bowl cannot vent to atmospheric pressure, it will throw things off considerably, specially under load! Long story made short , they must be clean!
  22. U see, Im nut stupid, I reed these f rigngs so I no sumtin, just a proces of limination! U's got any frign fish Ian, I no Andy ain't got non, I nkows logic now!
  23. Normally about 10% I would think, so basically you should be able to use your next sizes up and down as a "go" or "no go" to guage.
