  1. Ok, I know i asked for it, but all I could buy on the cheap was this new Vista powered machine! I must admit the GUI is good withe all the fancys, but I cannot seem to get this friggin thing to turn off by itself! I have the screensaver set to come on at 5 min. No Joy! The power settings are set at standards and I have changed them yet still no power off or sleep mode? Is there some switch I am missing here to enable screensaver or power management? Duh?
  2. Say what you like(good input),but I have often thought that if a bike were going to production in China for the masses it should be the 200 in this basic config or better! A nice simple 4T that works well and inexpensive to maintain with inexpensive readily available parts. There was/ is someone associated with Cotswalds classics that will do you a chineese motor 200 in a Majesty frame reproduction that I inquired about some time back. Cost as much as a new mod bike so that put me out. If they can build radical tricked out pit bikes for nought, you would think they could do something worthwhile! You blokes that are heavily into this stuff may have different views, not sure.
  3. Gawd! What an old POS! Exactly what I have wanted! Now Can it really work? With the OKO?
  4. I think his boss cought him in the mens room! Does he give you a wink, now?
  5. Hey Zipper, can you loan Biff a kid or two, that should fix him! Trials Nerds ride trials because it is CHEAP!
  6. That is just too cool! Keep up the good work Matt! Tell dad to get piccies, as Dave said, good or bad ! Keep us posted! Did you see the videos in the Trials Training forum under "Makes you Feel Better"? Maybe one day we can get you down here in Texas on the exchange program! We just send the dad a half dozen Mizell kids in return! The food and gas bill is brutal!
  7. For some reason, my body only relates to the first one!
  8. Almost reminds me of Mexico, if you have a nice car, the girls will clean your windscreen with their panties!
  9. You can just jump across them with a wire, they do not have to be attached to the sensor. The fan should run. The fan motor is 12 volt DC , so any 12v battery should run it when hooked to the fan leads(not the thermo)!
  10. Doubt any of it would be worth the expense and trouble really. Paxau does not use the Kiehin last I checked. Seems many of the lads would use the 46 or 48T rear gear to make 3rd gear more usable. Have you freshened it up with a new piston ring? Basically, all the exotic stuff will not win you a trial, you need to learn to maximize what you have and the 125's just require better teknique!
  11. Other than a good cleaning of the carby and such, you would be well advised to find someone locally that has experience with the bikes and can properly evaluate things. As we seem to be on different tracts with the basic "ratcheting" sound thing. Just different I would normally think as to what the "pinking" or "ping" as we call it.
  12. Our Time In Eden God had finished with the basic structure of humanity and was ready to get down to the perks when he called Adam and Eve to sit at his side. "Okay, kids," he said to them, "you have all the essential stuff. Now who wants to be able to pee standing up?" Adam lept to his feet. "Me! Let it be me! Pleeeezz!" "So Be It." God said. God then turned to Eve. "Well let me see," he murmured, looking at his master plan. "Sorry Eve, looks like all I have left is multiple orgasms."
  13. The olly thing that comes to mind based solely on your discription would be perhaps a loose flywheel on the magneto. And the keyway about to go? Pure speculation, but may be worth a look to insure some basics. First indication would normally be the fact that tou could thighten the flywheel nut using a hand ratchet I would think! Someplace to start!
  14. Agreed, the only motorsport with a class for old gits! I can go as fast as I like, and nobody cares if I have a change of undies! Or just slowly roll off some cliff, same outcome! Going to a trials is like early onset altzheimers, every day is different!
  15. Many of these things are even self induced! It is an odd thing that should not be overlooked, but a blocked gearbox vent tube can cause high case pressures. As the clutch slave is bolted and sealed to the case acting upon the pushrod, it is possible for the high case pressure to "push" the slave piston back into its hole just enough to require an extra "pump' from the master to offset it! And it will slowly creep back again with the case pressure if unused for a bit. As I do not have a 4T in front of me I cannot tell where they vent, but on the 2T, it is the small hose just to the left of the intake tract. It seems on the later years bikes it is normally run from there up and over the fuel inlet just inside the fuel feed line, then down past the shock to about skidplate level which normally prevents any water entry due to the uphill run that a cold contraction may produce. However it is still advisable to change your gear fluid if you have been running in water over the cases, as thermal contraction could be enough to suck a bit of water in! You see, the thermal effect can work in both directions and should not be overlooked in either extreme, blocked or not!
  16. And a bit of Christmas cheer back to you!
  17. Well, the time has finally come as the old Dell trotline weight is going out the back door! This massive P4 powered machine was quite the thing at the time, with windows ME and all! Expensive ! In the later years it still managed to survive in the shed with a fan replacement or two, a bit of memory upgrade and a clean slate running XP. Weighing near 50lbs and taking as much space as a small refrigerator, it has been oil and solvent soaked in the shed, tolerated mudwasps, dust and dirt and kept on. Just basically bulletproof! Goodby old friend, I'll keep the magnets out of your hard drive for enjoyment! Doubt the wife will even appreciate the new Vista machine in the house, but at least I get to snatch the 5yr old XP thing. She is already bitching about the flatscreen! Doesn't like it! Oh well!
  18. In an issue like that, check to insure your gearbox vent is not blocked~!

    Joke

A cop was on his horse waiting to cross the street, when a little girl on her new shiny bike stopped beside him. 'Nice bike,' the cop said. 'Did Santa bring it to you?' 'Yes Sir,' the little girl said, 'he sure did!' The cop looked the bike over and handed the girl a $5 ticket for a safety violation. The cop said, 'Next year, tell Santa to put a reflector light on the back of it!' The young girl looked up at the cop and said, 'Nice horse you've got there Sir. Did Santa bring it to you?' Playing along with the girl, he chuckled and answered, 'Yes, he sure did!' The little girl looked up at the cop and said, 'Next year tell Santa; The dick goes underneath the horse, not on top ..............
  20. If you are getting a gulp of air in the system with a change of attitude of the bike, and a soft lever to follow, makes sense the fluid is low. Best I recall, the diaphram should displace ALL air when installed, and there should be no visible air in the sight glass. The diaphram will allow for expansion and contraction concerns of the fluid. If there a varience when holding pressure, something is leaking. Fluid does not compress and even trapped air volume does not change under a given pressure. If there are external leaks , the level will drop. If there are internal leaks(by the master cyl piston seal) you will find none and the fluid level will remain consistant, yet this would likely occur at all attitudes.
  21. Jon, I can recall a few times that would have come in handy, but not for cleaning the bike! You see, I often get this velcro feeling in the shorts after -------- oh well, you know! Can we just warm the water a bit!
  22. Well it does sound as though things are in correct order. One thing I am unsure of is the type of noise you were attempting to fix in the first place? Other thing that comes to mind regarding lateral movement in the entire clutch assembly. Obviously there well might be some, yet I would not think much. It would be fairly easy to compare, I think, by removing the outer cover only on another bike. If excesive, would that not relate back to the input shaft bearing in the case that supports the entire clutch assembly? My guess is it could create a whining or whirring noise as the primary gears would not quite mesh correctly? Sound something like a Scorpa 2T?
  23. There you go Zipper!!!!!! Powdered Teflon, I have not seen that! Teflon, slickest substance known to man! You see, this is where we get into a mute point I think. I have thought long about this, but for me, the good olt throttle is like sex. You need a bit of lubrication, but not too much, as you also need some tactile feedback on what is going on there! Same with the spring pressure on the slide! Make it too light and there is little feedback plus risk of a jamb!
  24. I have not had one apart in quite a while, but you would want to insure the M203 spacer and M208 are not reversed in order. Also be sure the shim washers on the idler gear are in proper position. I cannot recall if the M153 idler gear has an offset that could be reversed? M2C
