  1. Lots of good stuff to ride there, get to know your clubs and enjoy, no pressure!
  2. About 1.8 fl oz to 4L, that should do it!
  3. Pitfalls? Will it make you a better rider? Save the dosh for the newer more spindly one!
  4. Say what you might, it is done! It is the American way. So be it! Long live the Queen!

    S3 225 Kit

Steve(Spinner), I must agree with Rick. Seeing what I had a chance to of Josh in Ok was pretty impressive. Although I do give much creedance to the "EURO" development theory. When they can use all the 125 has to offer, it is time to move up. The Euro kids can do most anything we normally ride with ease, simply a culture shock thing, up to around 6 ft + walls. If you eliminated a few HUGE things, Smage could have won the US Championship on a 125. They are that good!
  6. Reports from those such ad Steve and Ishy who have owned and ridden the '05 bike with the mod kit installed suggest little to no problems with the bike. Trust me, there is not a perfect 4T! As history prevails here, if there was a perfect one, there would never have been 2T in the first place! Not that they are perfect either! I could ride either, both seem to have their advantages and dis! I do think the 4T is more Earthy, and fun to ride, as we may all be back to roots as time goes on, nothing limiting here wtth the exception of cost of the moving parts that wear. We are in a transition period it seems of sort. A good rider will still beat you on either one!
  7. Yea, that is the video done by Jim Smell some time back which explains most all that gasser clutch stuff, yet I am almost positive the factory part available is the same as the mod one. Ck with your dealer locally!
  8. Lots of opinions here, one question comes to mind as I have seen some bars may not have the knurling on the end and may provide better contact area than those that do. I think this may well make a difference in exactly what you need to use to fill those voids, disallow water entry and such. I have tried a number of methods, none perfect. Yet? Has anyone tried tire patch adhesive? It bonds with the rubber product very well, stays runny(when fresh) till it airs off, think it will fill some voids!
  9. I figure that well over $10K US at current rates. Never figured I would have to be wealthy to putt about on a 250cc Honda! Guessed wrong! Awe hell, lets throw this overpriced POS at a few rocks and see what happens! NOT!
  10. Haaaaaaaaaaaaa! That is just too much! Was it cold?

    No Spark

Dan has said a lot there, Agree, Agree, Agree, Basically, confirms my theory that modern electronics are crap! Yet they still keep pushing for more! Just in your average car, I can tell you horror stories! On a daily basis!
  12. Always did like the lad, Shawn is a nutter too! Now how does this shake out in the classes? Will Gubian stay on, and will they both move to the top line? Dabster understands all this stuff?
  13. If the fan is working and making hot air, chances are the rad was too full to begin with. It need expansion room at the top, coolant level just over the coils, or they will expell any excess. Hope that helps!
  14. What do you do in a small town with no girls?
  15. I have seen some strange lights! But they have not found me! Yet!
  16. Gasgas make a lighter belville spring now, not sure exactly when that went into production bikes, maybe 06-07. Then you need to be sure your clutch pack thickness is set correctly. Thicker the better they say! Or at least within the range!
  17. Just ride in your underpants, they will find you, you are ready!

    No Spark

Oh I agree totally, Dan, you need ammunition! You see, in the case of the Beta, if it were proved that stray voltages were knocking out the triggers or such, it would go a long way to support your theory. If it is just solid state failures of the windings in the coils, well ? Poor coils or insulation! Takes an overall sampling of the failures to evaluate such, difficult to do in this environment, sure you can agree there. Long story made short, these things can be a major frustration! As well as isolating the problems from the (boxes) on most! Cheers, MC
  19. Clark is correct in many ways, and so is the NATC I am sure, these guys are not stupid, and I should be less pissy about it as well. There are always issues, insurance, promotion, the Gala in Vegas! I think AMA gets its part. You see, this is one of the reasons we did the Sooner cup in the first place. I do like the offering of a REAL pot to the Pros! And there are proposals with integrating a national event with it! LOTS OF RIDERS! Friggin combine it with Central Regional points! Let us take 150 riders! Make a Real Trial, with Real Money, 40/ 60 to the NATC rather than the other way round, get some participation! Ok, make it tough, like the Scott or the Scottish, establish a real pecking order! Move a lot through quickly, as our support class lines are set at expert at best. Do a real trial that attracts many and top of their class that want to ride! Shut uuup Cope!
  20. Word is that 60% of the entry fees go toward the NATC, and the sponsoring club gets the remaining 40% for their efforts and expenature! Go figure as to why there are not more clubs doing events! Duh! The NATC is trying I think, but if you reversed the numbers you might have a better response. Clubman riders are not really invited to participate, other than stand in a section and score for a long day, prepare the sections in advance! And for what? The small cut of the action? Sorry, I'm about to get really pissy! I just cannot envision the sustainability at this rate. And there lies the problem!
  21. Hopping? Soooo easy! In my dreams! Not in the trials! I spend more time than not in pure survival mode in the sections! Just get OUT! ALIVE! Those would make good intermediate or expert sections today, by modern standards, nothing for a pro!
  22. Yes Al, we did talk briefly about it at some point, good job there, making things work! Good to see! I have to deal with a lot of it myself and recycle everything I can in the daily shop environment. Now if I only could turn used ATF and oil into Diesel fuel I would have it made?
  23. Unfortunately, this is not isolated to Canada! It is becoming very obvious that there are a lot of idiots trying to run things in this world!

    Flywheel

Yea, that's a Jon Bliss special where he actually added some weight it seems. Not sure why? Everyone who rode the '09 we had in OK came back smileing! It is impressive, even Smage took a spin and almost immediatly adjusted to hopping logs about 2m apart on the rear wheel! Just nuts! Very powerful but will just chug along like a good 4T.
  25. That is an interisting video, gives perspective. As best I recall, in "84-85, I was doing my last stand comeback attempt on a watercooled Honda CR ballbuster that screamed! Most them trials bikes nearly weighed as much as the CR with air cooled rattlecans with little power and really heavy flywheels! Very interisting bikes, seems none worked very well, yet had a seat! Coming back to the realm, after not really even seeing a trials bike since the '70's, in the year 2000 I had to really search to find things locally. Just wanted a playbike that served my old memories of trials, like the Bultaco or old Yam. What I found was amazing, even in Y2K, the Gassers and Sherco products were hot! Fact is, a good rider can smoke you on one today! A bit dissapointed about the seat thing, though! Actually, the new bikes being costly at the time, I took a good deal on a '98 Scorpa Easy 280 just to play. Yes it was different and seemed bulletproof. Such POWER! Nothing easy about it, you had to ride that thing! This is fun if I do not kill myself! These guys are nuts!
