    Blondes

TFT, are there any still alive that understand that joke, or is it still popular, there/? I understand it, yet ?
  2. RL, YOU don't even do stuff like you did on that crazy bike anymore! If I could ride it for two years, I can ride just about anything! Yet, Waynes bike is SWEET, nothing against the Beta. I can keep it here for a while if need be!
  3. If you ride rocks, you may need them! I should show you the cuts that granite has taken out of my Answer Apex guards! Cheap too, as I think the youth versions that are just about rite for trials cost about $15! I could have spent much more in stitches and bandaids! They just tuck in the top of the boots externally. Elbow pads will tuck under a jersey if need be! The rocks will hurt you! Bad!
  4. You should enjoy that dialect, get fresh seafood!
  5. Are your hemmoroids bothering you again, John?
  6. HeHe, I doubt either could wet thi feet at dart range!
  7. Some of this may have to do with the fuel used, as race gas can easily vaporize when shut off hot, may boil in the bowl! I have run into this running the avgas in higher temps as well. The fuel evaporates too easily it seems. Not sure about the UK, but it is possible to have problems from winter/summer blend pumpgas even, as the MVP(vapor pressure) is different as I understand. M2C
  8. 72.8 x 60 mm i think!
  9. Just going off Dabsters response to another thread. "once every 6 rides or so on a gasser more on the mont 4t " All I know is that I bought one just trying to take a demo ride from my dealer. Seems if you wick them when too cold they just flame out? Has anyone tried cleaning them with a blaster, or are they done? This has baffled me a bit, as they are not cheap plugs! And on last ck, not found at the auto store!
  10. Sounds as though you have the correct idea, but not sure how easily the seal will come out! Bearings are not normally effected I think! As they probably come out in the other direction! I had a techno motor at one time, but best I can do now is look at the Sherco for comparison. Those seals are small and tight, but hopefully you can lever it out without damaging things.
  11. My experience with these is not good. You might try heating slightly with a hair drier to basically cold work it a bit. It appears to me the alloy is heat treated to attain its strength. If you heat it much, it will anneal and loose its strength, worse than before! Wish for better news!
  12. Way too much handling here and excessive hydrocarbon evaporative emission! Just jetwash the crap out of the thing and apply the WD or triflow after, works the same! WD must be applied more often if it is a muddy event obviously, yet I will only normally re apply after the day, so on a two day, it is dry in the morning to minimise slingoff! A soak in regular oil still leads to too much buidlup of crud, it IS going to wear anyway! I just did my thouough cleaning in mineral spirits and a good wire brush after a full year on. Adjusters still on half. Oh well! M2C
  13. I wish I had known, would have left RL my special little wrench to make things easier. I just did my '07 for the second time. Still got to pull the airbox though, must have taken all of 10 min! A few minor adjustments with the heat gun made my airbox fit like a glove going in and out! Fits the mudguard junction better too. Anyway, I had to take mine up about 3 1/2 rounds first time as I recall. 2 or so the second time. Personally, though mine is plush, I know where RL is coming from as he would do better with a heavier spring. But he has the Beta set for him, which is very firm for me as well! He is not really fat, just big, and #50 makes a big difference! My little 2.9 with some smoothing is way too mellow for him, he did'nt say it but I understand!
  14. No, but you can come visit me in Texas! We can go riding! Out in the wood! Somewhere! Don't get lost, as they will never find you! Happy Halloween!
  15. I wonder if Big John has a collection of used Monty plugs the size of Dabsters?
  16. Thankfully, this was not my pipe! You see it is difficult to control what folks do with these things, yet the basics still apply here. Too much oil in the fuel mix.(more than 80:1)not neccessary Poor quality oil(non synthetic)will tend to gum up more or harden worse Too much octane(race gas)can lead to less combustion efficiency Putting about and never getting the exhaust warm enough for things to move. All this can lead to a clogged muff! And if you simply let this stuff accumulate, you may be in trouble. That is my theory and I'm stickin to it!
  17. If your muff is Soooo loaded up with fuel and oily residue that it continues to burn too long, there will be excessive heat buildup! This excessive build up and burn time can cause irreperable damage and a sinking feeling in the gut similar to tying a rubber band around your dangly parts and them falling off! Logic tells me that a pre-flush with solvents to remove as much residue as possible, as per BS, may help prevent an overheat condition, yet you would want to well vent it first to remove any residual HC vapors. Normally I would say they should self extinguish within a minute or so. Additional cooling for the ali, via water or ice pack may be an option and well advised. Keep the ali COOL! If you total it, you probably needed a new one anyway! Don't blame me. None of this is approved for general use and extreme caution should be used at all times as personal injury may result! You have been advised!
  18. After you turn on the heat, it may smoke for awile as in previous pic. If buildup is signifigant and enough to support combustion, it will ignite! This may take some time. You will see flame at the tip! Time to cut off the heat and just let the fan run to provide air to feed the flame!
  19. We are trying to keep this thread respectful here for PA's daughter! Why on earth would you insert a '70's Dabster piccie!
  20. No but I'll bet he wants to add the wicked scooter to the collection, they have cool stuff nowadays!
  21. I'll have to sort you muppets on this, soon as I find the piccies! Here we go! You will need an industrial heat gun that has a selectable switch, fan, off, heat! Most of these seem to well fit the Sherco muff inlet! Some scrap lumber can build you a rack to fit it!

    300 Beta!

You may get a call from Big Jerry on Waynes bike, I told him about it!

    300 Beta!

It is late and I do not have the time or energy to write a full review of the 300 kit Beta I had a chance to spend time on over the weekend. Yet it is worth mention, as it was a Blast! This bike happens to be one prepped and owned by one of the best fellows I know, RLracer, and may be the trickest 4T Beta in the US. It has the 300 kit and the performance exhaust(muff) installed. This thing RIPS! Runs like a injected Monty on a hot map plus steroids! Abundant torque and smooth power curve, although he does have it set a bit too responsive for me with a realy quick spring in the CV carb. His pref, as he rides a class or two up on me, rides experts. Which is exactly what they like! Friggin beauty! I would have a much harder time with it in the sections as compared to the stocker, which is very gentile, yet there is a lot to work with here. Tune to taste! Unlimited! Jumping off a 2t Sherco and on to any 4T is a change for sure, as I have ridden the ones out there. The weight difference is there, but negledeable. The Beta is super stable. I think this motor is too! It is some cool stuff and the new ones are coming in mild or wild versions in '09! And that is all I have to say, all good!
