I just hope someone scratches it before ME!
If I give it back to him looking like Ronnie Commo's bike, I will need to buy him some black Krylon!
-
-
By Golly, I think he's got it!
Some good moves there for sure!
You need to be more agressive on the "pops" of the clutch to get the splatter or zap!
-
I happenen to take a spin on one today just for giggles, Been a while since I been on a BIG bike, as the 600's and stuff are more popular.
Well, all I can say is that this thing IS NUTS! My impression is that it handles extremely well, considering the position of the rider, which is full monte, and needs to be because one could not submit to the awesome power otherwise!
Suspension is near perfect, if the front is toutching the ground! It needs the digital speedo, analogue will not keep up!
Clutch and brake were not far off a trials bike, with one finger on each! Effortless motion in the turns, which I kept below 100 for safety!
Bottom line, I WOULD NOT recommend this bike to any friends that I wanted to keep around for a few years. It may well be the closest thing to(with better hardware) the TZ750 world killer I rode many years ago. All I can say is that I got the same woodie!
Maybe I am just too old to remember, and it is a different animal, BUT! Still Stupid!
I want to go beat a few rocks now!
-
I have to emphasize the fact here, that no matter how well your filter is working at catching the stuff, a blast of water WILL wash the accumulated stuff right through! The water will pass and take the dirt with it!
ANY water will do this, from washing or not!
And this is why you see the top riders changing them after a loop! Even at that, it may not be perfect! There is always something that gets by and takes its toll. Anything more would be too power restrictive and the motors could not breathe!
-
For your information, I still have that spot on the shin where it hit the bars! I see it every morning in the shower and give RON a good cursing on a daily basis! All the while hearing him snicker in my mind! The TART!
But I have yet to get the wifey to open my beer, like you
-
The parts book shows them as a 4mm diameter rivet. I would think you could set them with a common shop air hammer with a flat tool while backing up the end against an anvil surface.
But, I have never had to do these specific parts. Maybe phone your importer for more info.

We call this a Mexican Taxi!

I think you need to move to Texas ! While you can!
-
Wow Ham, that works I must recommend this to All the tosser's at work!
-
I think my best advise would be to learn to love and use the skidplate, as that is why it is there and that is where you are supposed to keep the scratches!
On downhill things, you can gently set it on the plate, then rock the bike over. Even on a verticle drop of substantial size!
Always beats getting in a hurry and going over the bars!
-
Cannot recall if I posted this before? Still funny after a beer!
Only in Texas my friends... Only in Texas ..... Too bad......
A lawyer runs a stop sign and gets pulled over by a sheriff's deputy. He thinks that he is smarter than the deputy because he is a lawyer from New York and is certain that he has a better education then any cop from Houston , Texas . He decides to prove this to himself and have some fun at the Texas deputy' s expense.
The deputy says,' License and registration, please.'
'What for?' says the lawyer.
The deputy says, 'You didn't come to a complete stop at the stop sign.'
Then the lawyer says, 'I slowed down, and no one was coming.'
'You still didn't come to a complete stop, Says the deputy. License and registration, please.'
The lawyer says, 'What's the difference?'
'The difference is you have to come to complete stop, that's the law License and registration, please!' the Deputy says.
Lawyer says, 'If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and stop, I'll give you my license and registration; and you give me the ticket. If not, you let me go and don't give me the ticket.'
'That sounds fair. Please exit your vehicle, sir,' the deputy says.
At this point, the deputy takes out his nightstick and starts beating the daylights out of the lawyer and says, 'Do you want me to stop, or just slow down?'

I seen PA was on the line, hope they are doing well while making their way around and hope to hear from them.
I do not mean to hijack this thread, but I would like to see it continue with PA's adventure!
Yes Brian, things were different back then, but yet changing. Growing up in the 60's had a lot of different input!
I actually remember watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show! Listening to rock on AM radio! Not that my parents ever approved!
Jon did not have TV! He is really old! I think they used smoke signals or something!
-
Maybe you could send him one of those specially made lightweight bricks to prop it up with!
-
I cannot imagine it much worse than when you flame out that Honda. Those silly things don't always want to spring back to life you know, and if it is really bad, you then have to do the Detroit handshake reset procedure to them or they may never light off!
Last time I knackered one of them, a local dealers demo bike, he told me I could not ride it anymore and I owed him $15 for a sparkie! I told him where to shove it, and have not been on one since!
Suppose I should add the fact that he is also my local Sherco dealer(we are friends), so he just put it on my tab! Oh well, it was worth it to see him kicking himself into exhaustion trying to start it too!
-
Hey Ariel! Good ride in TN, congrats!
MC
Say hi to all!

Jon, I will say there was a pizza place on Hwy 1 in Santa Cruz that had the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Or maybe I was just too hungry for my only meal that day? Thoughts still linger. Maybe you knew my buddy Willie Durbin, he got around town a lot, as a garbage man! Total nutter! Everywhere really! And he knew lots of townfolk.
This was probably '73-'74 as I recall. Willie played a bad ass Bass guitar in local bands and was very popular for his showmanship and skills. As we lost touch after that year, I have often wondered if he is still alive, how many of your old friends are still kicking? See, once you get past Clives age, the numbers seem to start dwindling!
We had a lot of fun back then though! Never looked back!

I can tell that the knee in the pic was protected by a brace, but no protection for the knee cap! Riding on granite, a lot, these are the first things to go on for me. The youth(small)mx knee/ shin guards tuck in top of boots and work well, and have saved me from the same injury several times!
I have seen several ride in short pants, but the same boots and guards apply! And yes, it gets very hot here!
-
Sounds like a good time to get in the Tractor Parts bus, Jon!
I can give you a few tips on Diesels! And trust me, most of it you don't want to know! That stuff is getting really scarey!
Oh well, pays better than trials bikes! It must be nice to be unemployable!
-
Wow they did it! Yea, Texas is way too hot to ride now for sure!
As PA manages his way around, I hope he can track down Fracy or Dave in BC, seems nice up there! As things go, a stop over at TTC in the winter should be good. I have been there around Thanksgiving with good weather. December and January seem iffy, but we usually hold our state Presidents Cup weekend about mid Jan. and I think the NM and AZ boys are going good that time of year.
I wish they could make it round to the Octobertest in OK, usually a great time for all classes! And nice place to visit!
When I was 15, I hitchiked from Texas to Cali in the middle of summer. It was 115f in the desert, that sucked. And when I got there, somewhere near Clive, the ocean water was too cold to swim in. So I just spent a few cool nights up in the hills and came home!
-
I think Bikespace said it!
-
I have too, but never recall seeing that! I have come to like the Jitsie filter though. Tough to fit at first, but works well and seems stronger!
-
Track down Slapshot3, he needs a riding buddy! Cheers,
-
I wish them the best.
Maybe you DO have a complete set, BS?
