  1. I would give it back to the rebuilder if you cannot find a proper carb to swap! Otherwise the procedure may require a pressure test which is much more involved than I can briefly explain here. But you can quickly spray a bit of carby cleaner about the intake rubber to see if it makes a sudden change. Careful as it will melt the engine paint! What seals did they use?
  2. I think that means you are forgiven, Biff! You have, reddemed yourself, you are a good guy! Now Give that trophy to Zippy before something bad happens!
  3. RYP or Lewisport have them, or you better find a trials shop in CO!
  4. Got mine! I feel soo Scottish now I'm walking about in my kilt! Totally unemcumbered! Actually it was about 105f here yesterday, so the pool dip and towel were on before I put on the movie about midnight! Great video there, very well done, recommend to all as the best I have ever seen of the event! Recommend to all! Thank you!
  5. I think the TY is bad enough luck Glenn, cut your losses! Find a Beta 80 or something real. If Sammy did not try it, well?
  6. My thought would be to pull the clutch hub off the motor, This will isolate the gearbox from the crankshaft and at least give you something to go on. A broken gear, a twisted crank are possibilities of rapid engine stop! Not a good thing, yet can be repaired! Good luck!
  7. I think they have those at Jasons Deli, but I am too cheap to get one of those big things. I just order soup, then fill the empty bowl with salad, then fill the empty bowl with fruit, then pudding, then icecream. One small bowl is usually enough for me! Pretty good soup it is!

    Sherco Tips

Many have complained about leaky fuel caps on the '06, '07 and '08 Shercos causing the tank stickers to soften with the fuel and so on. Seems even the early ' 08 white tanks were a bit thin in the mould and the cap would not lock in the threads because they would expand easily. I understand there have been some warranty adjustments made here. But for others, it just seems the plastic seal on the cap will not seal perfectly! Well, after recieving a sample replacement from Outlaw Trialsport, the issue seems resolved! It is a rubberized cork replacement that is a bit tricke to replace the original without tearing, may help if you warm it a bit, but it just works! And I like things that just work! If I had done it, it would have been pure rubber, but that is not the issue, as it works well. I recommend you contact Outlaw Dave on this site or PM me for his email in canada, great guy! Trying not to break any rules here, yet I want to promote things that work!
  9. HONESTY IS ALWAYS THE BEST POLICY! Or- uh- whatever! However there is the fact that the judges decisions are final and are really not to be swayed by outside influence by others than the rider! If you are known for your honesty it never hurts! And if he does not see or judge a dab, he cannot call it on presumption! Trials is Trials! And it is not perfect! We did run into this at the WTC, with many judges in the section it still became an issue! As the rider balked the decision, all we as bystanders could say was,"Good Call Judge" move on! I think they actually had to show him the card to get him to shut up! Oh well! It was a good call! In a single observer situation, I will give benefit of doubt to any rider, does not mean EASY! Just trying to be fair!
  10. AT LEAST YOU ARE PAYING ATTENTION!
  11. Hot or cold? Makes a difference!
  12. So it is basically the same as '07? You see i never knew what them kids had in their hands at the WTC! Do tell about the TRP Howard! My '07 shock is still hanging in there, still think it is a timebomb though, much depends upon how you ride the things I suppose!
  13. Did Biff spend enough to make it profitable? What is the report from Dan?
  14. Seen the update in the Trialscomp so it must be true? Kieth is out , Chris is in!
  15. I thought I seen somewhere that IRIS had recalled a bad lot of chain that was improperly heat treated. Should be fine now, maybe?
  16. Someone said pink is the new black! Look at the gasser frames!
  17. If you are moving the rear to the right, you would initially turn to the left! hopefully you land straight! And pointed at what you intended! Note you do not have to use the bar pivot as leverage, it just helps. The throw of the hips helps more, but then you must bring the bike back under you using the legs. A combination is more desireable and smoother!
  18. If and when you get the dosh, I have this 4T I need to sell! Built mostly of Magnesium and Titanium, the gearless variable fluid drive with ABS and traction control never looses traction. The injected hydrogen fuel is carried in the frame, and since there is no fuel tank, the ducted fan system blows warm air up to the dangles and the handgrips in the winter! Lacking a fuel cap, the only logical option was the "single mans kit", for those that want the bike to suck as well as blow! At 60kilos, it is top kit! Costs the same as the Veyron, but I only need to sell one!
  19. I'm too cheap to drive to Owasso and you think I'm going to Duluth? You gotta be kidding! Might be a bit cooler than the 100f+ every day here though! Remember that thing called a daughter that I had to buy the new laptop for? The one that I am still paying for the recent heart surgury! The one that is costing me an incredable amount in tuition! Well I have to move IT down to Florida in a couple of weeks to cram IT in a dorm room that also costs a lot of money! Go figure, two strokes are all I can afford!
  20. I have seen one like this that appeared to have been improperly heat treated(soft). See if you can get some warranty assistance on it possibly?
  21. I think Ray may have done a demo on the 80 at some point, I know he did one on the Sherco 125 at El Trial or something years ago. I also recall him after a trial here, taking the "then new" 125 4T Scorpa round all our local master lines here in Texas, and finding cleans! Poor little bike got a thrashing though, it was up to it! You see, when you put things on a WORLD level, it is a different tale. It IS all relative to us normal folk, just a class or two over our heads. But just as an example, I seem to recall both Alexz Wigg and Smage doing world class sections in Jounior and TDN respectively on the 125's! It absouletely becomes hard to imaging just how difficult this stuff really is! Where they would be begging for a 250! 4T or not! I think it a big relief for those kids to be able to get off the little bikes! Yet the skills they learned while having to make due, are invaluable! What does any of this have to do with anything? I think the 4T's are fun and great to ride! They can be more powerful if needed, yet seldomely, and god help you at overhaul time, as you will shed some Squid things when that time comes, not to mention the maintenance inbetween. For those that flip bikes every year it is not an issue. Though I do understand that many in the MX and Enduro are getting away from them due to high costs of maintenance. Actually I just helped a buddy with a head job on a CRF 250 Honda, got lucky, just needed valves and a cam! OUCH! I could keep an average 2T trials running for just about 5 years on that repair cost! And I am not as cheap as some! Like Zipper!
  22. Special cleaner "elbow grease"? Well sort of. If you have some HARD carbon buildup, a soft plastic scraper, scothbrite pad, some carby or brake cleaner may all help clean things up! Full synthetic oils help prevent this buildup!
  23. Tombo, start on dry pavement while astraddle the bike and your feet on the ground. Compress the forks while holding the front brake and the rear will rise easily. Turn the bars and the bike will rotate! Get the basic motion down. Easy, right? Do the same motion while rolling, requires unload of rear while compressing the front, requires more energy to fully compress and do the same motion while jumping up it seems! Turn bars, shift hips, bring bike back under you. Hit with brake if you can! WHEW! Off a small curb or something helps you get the initial front compression when going slow. From stationary, LOTS of front compression as you come forward with a little blip and a full POP release of the clutch to aid in lift. Requires better timing than I have. More compression than I can muster sometimes. Takes practice! The rear wheel should spin before you are back on the brake for landing! More aggressive move than it appears! Drives me crazy that some make it look soo easy!
  24. MMMM what a trip! Then you must find Steve and Dave! Up there, in the wilderness, somewhere!
