My Buddy on the 4T Beta took out my other Buddy on the 4T Mont!
I keep telling them to get a Sherco, but? They just won't listen!
-
I hope them Cali kids enjoy the 4th at home!
-
You may have red rims, bit I just made these boot guards out of the real stuff. The swingarm guards have been in testing for a while and still look good!
As I have none for sale at this time, no one can complain about spamming!
Guess I need to take the brush to the chain!
-
And what is this BS about no Press Bib? Did you show someone your credintials(again) Craig?
-
WoW! Now that's a TRIAL!
Go get Pat a steak dinner at the Golden Corral! And buy Ryan a hot dog, on me!
And throw some water on Cody, he is on fire! Tough first loop though!
Section nine, one rider rode it, Chris! Had to be something awful! Tough loop 3!
Will I. is starting to have some fun, got by Kieth!
-
This like Chinese massage parlor, you want Big Finish?
-
A good first loop for Pat and Chris, And DEIGO!
-
I think you may want to try the #36 pilot!
-
Is Ryan minding again?
i SEE MEZZ IS ONLINE SO WE SHOULD GET SOME GOOD REPORTS BETWEEM THEM BOTH!
-
Must be because you you are so so smart smart!
Next, a spelling Bee with the girls to see who gets a ride in a flying Scoobe!
Hold on tight, Baby!
-
Neo,
did you get it fixed?
-
Good to do it early on, should be good for a while depending upon how you use the power washer!
I would note a few key points, Over pack the rear brake pedal pivot as well, and while you have it off, fill the boot on the rear master with the silecon grease where the pushrod goes in to keep water out.
Do the front wheel bearings as well and coat the caliper bolts and pinch bolts on the axle(you do not want them to sieze), light coat on axle of course, so no surprizes between wheel or tire changes.
Adding grease to the steering head bearings is optional, but recommendable. Specially if you use the powerwash a lot.
Check bolts on brake disks(they use locktite now) but check them gently anyway, along with the bash plate bolts, and the kickstart retaining bolt(lube splines too).
Anti sieze the two header pipe bolts.
And lube those nipples!
Those are ALL the key points I have, that you have not already done, such as the lower shock bolt!
Good prep keeps you happy! Well worth it!
-
Not to change the subject, but there is a guy here in TX thay has a super clean '85 Cota 123 for sale. One of my favs!
-
Coming off a Beta, I am somewhat surprised you have not any mentioned of limined steering angles at max turn. When they raised the radiator in the frame on the '06 to make room for the 4T motor in a common frame, it limited the steering stops a bit. To achieve max turn on a Sherco, you still need to lean the bike, of course, and they will turn tight, but better if you can move the rear a bit. The Scorpa seems to turn tighter than anything, but it all has to do with your riding ability and becomes a non issue!
The pics of the Caby suggest the rad has been lowered once again by approx 30-40 mm(but not as low as the '05 and back) and the promo states for better cooling! BS!
My guess is they figured a way to get the 4T in there and still increase the turning radius!
It is ALL good!
-
As I cannot attend due to WORK, someone needs to be sure to weigh the Rev 4T !
Caution: Do not attempt to do this with RON on the bike!
-
I think this will do, taken in 3 meg mode(which I normally use), in the dark shed, full auto close up!
That spec above the "O" is hardly visable to the naked eye, incredable! And I did not have to reduce the file size to get it on here, as it came in just under 1M!
-
I want to know!
Too bad we don't have Bou's bike to weigh, just to see!
Maybe we should make that a new inspection rule for the WTC next year!
-
I have not tried the V Force reeds, but noting the comments from some on other brands, I would think they are softer and smoother off the bottom with a bigger top end, much like the Boyesens.
The Keihin is soft off the bottom too, so the combination of slow timing mode, soft carb, soft reeds? Go figure!
It would be interisting to check them against each other with a strobe light to see if they are set to the same timing from the factory.
Done before or after lunch(in Spain) and just how much actual difference that switch makes!
Ryan says he runs the forks extended in the mud, along with rear set pegs, and dropped in the dry with the standard pegs! Says the pegs are like cheating! I think the rear setting had just as much effect, so you just have to seek the happy spot! But sections vary typically, so what works in one may not work in another.

Not sure if your new bars have the same TIC marks on them for reference, but at this point I have settled for a position which is maybe half a mark past the center of the top clamps.
The tapered bars did a number on me, with no crossbar reference point to the verticle!
If you stand the bike up off the sidestand and look at it, I suppose you might say the front edge of the tapered bar is pretty much verticle, with the back edge some bit foreward of verticle!
Initially had it set what would be a full mark past on the index, but seemed a bit much. All personal pref you know, but helps with staying centered and specially moving the rear wheel, which I need all the help I can get!
Taken with the new Nikon in 3meg mode, this is just redicioulus! Makes the sh%& plating on the bolts stand out! Keep them oiled too!

Who said the Canadians did not have good taste in Beer and Stickers!
Steve, sounds great, You probably have some great ones, but Taff's idea may get me in a bit of a pinch!
There were some from the OK bunch at Tish, I will have to see if I can get some, but I don't think there are any Texas ones at this time as you notice I don't even have one for the trailer!
-
Juicy Lucy, what a---------------uh , clevage!
I am flabbergasted! I really don't know what to say. Is trials coming to this, scantilly clad young girls on Trials Central!!! I thought this was a family friendly site. I really am quite concerned that this sort of thing is creeping into trials.... Oh deary me!
I like it!
Prude!
-
Craig, if you care to notice the sticker just below the NGK in the top right, you can do that in OK and nobody cares! At Tish in the summer, we just go out and ride rocks!
My contribution went direct! And I did not even get a shirt! Maybe I'll get one later, as I just had to spring for the new NIKON to out piccie you! That D40 is bad ass!
-
Sounds as though you are getting a good feel for it mate! May be a bit higher strung than the Beta.
I am telling you, riding in 2nd will FORCE you to use the better clutch, even 3rd! Just go try some slippry off cambers in all three! Rev the crap out of it if you like, but learn to apply power smoothly with the clutch! A grassy knoll works well!
Then learn the big POP at the end! Will get you up and over things effortlessly with a little jump!
The higher gears in the lower revs help keep things more predictable, as they have a strong hit in the mid range with the stock reeds. As things evolve, you can learn to work the power to your advantage.
My rear spring is well broken in by now, and even setting it at around 20-25 mm static sag, the first couple inches of range it just sort of floats if you push and pull up and down, very soft. I'm running about three clicks out from full in on the rebound screw.
Later,
