  1. That looks like somthing a teenage motocrosser would do Yea, that is what we did back then! At the time, they said CZ, Penton, Maico and such! Plus a bunch of others. I still think my old 501 Maico was hell on wheels! Mine was a later model with 4 gears, the first ones only got three! Fast, Hold on tight, and OMG! Jumping 60ft then scared me, jumping 6ft now scares me! I have a few TTC and Michelin's to trade, maybe others!
  2. Seems the price dropped a bit since the D40x(10meg) came out. $525us, which is about L260? Had a play with one at a photo shop a while back and liked it. 6 meg is plenty for me, and considering you can get a 1 or 2 gig card cheap now? I usually shoot in about 3meg mode anyway, so lots of memory space. As the digital cameras have evolved, I have spent more for less, and in a year they are outdated, but the DSLR's have been out of range! No longer, think I'll make the plunge and keep the Fuji for a while as a backup and tele shooter! A plus is the D40 will still fit the bum bag as size is good! Much smaller than the others!
  3. My mate in Spain said you need to wipe down the rims with the Oily type sex lube after cleaning the bike, keeps them from turning and makes them shine! Keeps the nipples lubed too! For the spokes, that is!
  4. That's it Spinner and Atom I like them all! I am a TRIALS rider, not just a Sherco rider! I have plenty of room on the back doors yet! Ronnie can probably swing a Beta sticker, come about September, when he gets off the sofa! We are pretty much on summer break now, there is a ride at Tish next weekend, but I have lots to do as this is my busy time of year and I spent most the day today working on the airplane project, which I desperately need to get done, but with any luck I can still find time to track down some of those big red circles with the line through them!
  5. Funny you say that! Went to a LARGE local Honda dealer today to witness the trials demo put on there by the shop. Jesse Kempkes, quite good! He does not ride Nationals anymore, just goes for the money, but still a top rider. Anyway, was inside chatting with a mate and comments were made about a bloke walking out of the shop with a new set of PINK tie down straps. Just about that time, a young tart that works there showed up and asked about the comment, stating "Pink is the New Black" showing off some other goods. I can't wait till Ishy hears about this! On another note, as I had not been in a Honda shop in ages, I was surprised to find that Mr Honda has picked up the No-Toil filter oil under there own label, yet still clearly marked as made by No-Toil! Good stuff! Not sure if it is the same there, but worth checking. A bottle of the oil along with the powdered cleaner was ruoghly equal to 8 quid. Lasts me a year! Nice name change BTW! We thought we were going to have to email the Andy! I hope your rims don't turn PINK! ps- Forgot to mention, the no-toil stuff is touted as bio- degradeable as well!
  6. Call RYP and get Ryan's training video, the first one. It is the best out there!
  7. Bama, do you run pretty much stock bike? Maybe higher compression head for high altitude? I had a bit of a problem pulling 3rd gear on my earlier model, but when I rode Pat's new one it seemed to do pretty well with the same gearing. Most stuff just stayed in 2'nd and pulled fine off the bottom! Can't do that on a Gasser!
  8. Anyone with trials related stickers(or almost) they want rid of, or trade, let me know! I need a few more for the trailer!
  9. The bikes are tough enough, same running gear and all! They WILL go if you have the guts to pull the trigger! It is still to be seen if the 125 will come up short in some cases, but the pilots are aggressive! (and young)! I happen to agree totally that the 125 is the perfect tool for younger riders, but there are differences in the limited brands available, and the Sherco seems to be the Top of the Lot, power wise and in stock trim! The Gassers will go, but do not seem to have the torque off the bottom, and the Beta's in stock trim work well, but ? For that level of competition may take some mods! Will we see any 4T's in the 125's? In competition? I seen the Italians had a sleeved down Monty to campaign! The Scorpa? Early on, just after the initial release of it, I witnessed Ray Peters clean every local Master line we had here on one! It is somewhat Apples and Oranges it seems, and for what purpose! The average kid in the average club will soon be cleaning the Average Rider's clock on a 125 if this keeps up! Much like Patrick! And I LIKE IT! Good for the sport and the riders alike! All MHO!
  10. I am glad someone took the time to get some good pics! Thanks Vince!

    Gas Tank Fit

Al, You may be on to something there! What have you been using to clean the bike? I have been totally trying to avoid using toilett paper, because the same thing happened to my wife's butt!
  12. Neo, In my humble opinion, a good working dellorto is less finicky, unless you just have to have more power, mainly on top but throughout the range. Jetting is somewhat critical for smoothest operation ov this less precise metering device, though! I did a post on this a while back that you may want to find and consider. The jetting on a 2.5 vs 2.9 really does not seem to vary. What varys seems to be the individual carbs or bikes! I ran a #33 pilot in the '05 250, #36 did fine in the '06 2.9, but the #35 seems to work well, if slightly lean, in the '07 2.9, but very smooth along with the Boyesens. RYP recommends the #38 pilot in the later bikes last I heard, which works fine, but a bit leaner gives smoother power and a better transition to the needle at around 1/8 throttle, just beyond the fuel screw's range. No FAT blubbery spot! For the Pro riders, they just blow right through the range mostly and never care, they just want POWER! Myself, I prefer a little smoother and more predictable power! My '07 had a #30 installed from the factory and was soo lethargic it would not lift the front if you wicked the throttle! Fact is, a 2.9 of later generation can be tamed quite nicely, as they are smoother to begin with, but the 2.5 is still my personal fav. I do not weigh a lot though, and that makes a difference. But there were few 2.5's here to be had at the time, so! A 2.9 is only roughly 10% actual larger displacement at 272cc or whatever! We were riding some large granite a couple weeks ago, similar to the avitar piccie. That is when a 2.9 shines! Scared the s%&t out of me though!
  13. It does cost quite a bit to make a three week trek to Europe! The exchange rates are not favorable either! As much as I would like to think that the support is mounting, there is still overall only a small community of riders and others here that may choose to participate. I encourage all those "fence sitters" to do something, no matter how small! Someone said that RYP was offering a FREE video with a $100 donation, but you have to call! www.rypusa.com for the info or 800-607-8742 is the number. Cheers, MC

    King Andrew

You see there Al, Ringo actually included the credits in that post! Is he turning soft or just getting old, like Craig?
  15. Seem i once seen a listing for PWK 24 and 26 in a parts illustration and always wondered. I would think it was the same basic body with smaller bore. I always thought a 24 would work well on a 125 or 200 if it fit! That body barely fits the big bore Shercos and would be a real cram on a shorter 125 cyl. Although it has been done I hear.
  16. I would give the dellorto a good cleaning. A restricted or too small pilot jet can cause what you described. #33-36 should work fine.
  17. Cover your hard to reach areas early as you can catch them if they drip! A compatable clear coat will make dog s%&t look shiney! Ask Marky Boy!
  18. I suppose that means you are not sending the red rims, darn it!
  19. Neo, What jets are you running? What fuel?
  20. The more I look at the piccies, those RED rims really look like s$&t! I happen to have a Proper Black set in very good condition that will match your bike perfectly! Just send me the red ones exchange! No charge for the postage!
  21. Oh yea! I'll bet I can find a young kid that can kick your butt riding my bike! That Roblin kid ain't doing nothing and only lives a couple miles from me. Besides, I just spent my beer money, to help Patrick on his trip! I hope more do the same! I gotta hope someone gets some videos of the trip! We'll call it PAT'S BIG ADVENTURE! Kick some Butt and take some Video !(Hello Noel) There is always good and bad in these things it seems, we just hope for more good! Last I heard the Smages were spending the three week tour in a rented motor home! What adventure! The SS Minnow! There has to be some good stuff there!
  22. As a last note, proper routing of the fuel hose. You do not want or need to preheat your fuel ! Tygon is in use here, which you must keep off the muff. But you should do that anyway. The stock fuel hose tends to be rigid and not last without splitting. Applies to all years and carbs. The Tygon stays flexable and lasts 2-3 years it seems, although it will discolour with pump gas. Crankcase vent tube runs up and over , between the right bowl vent and the fuel inlet to carb to hold it!
  23. Someone had inquired about this mod elsewhere. The inlet screen! I find a coarse grade fiberglass reinforced plastic material as used on home windows, available as scrap trimmings at most hardware stores that do new screens. The fine grade works fine as well. Clean the filter retainer well so there is no oil residue and sand the top edge with 180 paper to get some grip. Apply a light coating of 3M 08008 Super Weatherstrip adhesive and even out with finger. Attach screen mesh(cut to fit) Apply light bead of adhesive on top, and even out with finger. Let dry. Keeps all the crud, sticks and leaves out and deflects any water entry. This filter has been run for three trials, and as you see there is some dust on the screen but no large deposits in filter and it shows to only be slightly dirty on the inside, still quite usable, but I will rotate it during cleaning. Of course it has been somewhat wet here of late so less small crud has made its way through. I have not seen any noticeable restriction in performance. Although the WFO riders may object to this!
  24. Closed cell foam block installed for cleaning and fuel tube blocked with syringe for cleaning! EVERYTHING! I'm sorry if i offend some, but you simply cannot get things really clean with a hose job, you need to powerwash it, specially the radiator, from the inside out! You should easily be able to see through it!
