  1. No problem here, we all speak redneck!
  2. Try pulling the flywheel to see if it has sheared the keyway!
  3. Poor Phillip is bored! Arent you supposed to be watching the farm?
  4. Good going Alan, just need another 5k to buy the bike to be used! I have the spare sidestand, just cannot seem to get enough behind it! Might make an excellent "piece 3" though! Really!
  5. Neo, I can only suppose you were able to blow out the choke jet passage(the one with the little o-ring that goes to the bottom of the bowl) and there is no settled water that may obstruct it. You may be surprised just how much condensation can develop in the tank and find its way into the bowl! Other than that, a fresh plug, BP5es at about .023 in, freshness of fuel? These are just things to be sure of. Normally they light off in 2-3 kicks from cold using the choke and in average temps! I can only suppose as well it did better when taken off the choke after starting???
  6. Hell no, but it does not measure performance either! It is all relative!
  7. Is there some support money on that?
  8. Probably NOT in Italy! They drink like fishes I'm told!
  9. The cheapest bead breaker is a 2x4 piece of lumber, about 6ft long. Piece 1 (the lever) about 4 ft of it! Piece 2 (the backing) about 1 ft long, goes under the edge of the bottom rim for support. Piece 3 (the ram) may be from 6 to 12 inches dependant upon vehicle height! Place tire under or near lower edge of car(between wheels) with Piece 2 under rim. Position piece 3 on area of bead to be broken in verticle position next to rim. Position piece 1 under lower edge(pinch weld) of car to apply downward force on piece 3 as if you were trying to use the leverage to lift the car. It will pop right off the bead! Lengths and angles can be moved and adjusted accordingly, but with the long lever is is a piece of cake! Flip it and do the other side! Cost $2.00 US
  10. I have heard that the electronic ignition prevented(or helped prevent) the bikes from going into reverse at tickover speeds! That may be a big plus, if you have ever had it happen to you! Thoughts?
  11. Neo, Give us an update, matey!
  12. Surprised to find Just with a spare set already! Which brings us to another topic! If you carry spares in your kit, you will never need them! It is only the things you Do Not have that will break, bend or fall off in a trial!
  13. Yea, it may have sunk in by now, Craig is still recovering! Pay Up Sucker!
  14. I know the plan was just the 3 week tour of the contenant! Doubt that would change no matter how much they would like to! I just hope they have a good time and Pat does well!
  15. Heath, The SB-50DX is listed in the book for manual mode!
  16. There is a ton of useful info at http://www.shercousa.com/ under the Service Info tab. You should review it all, very helpful. As far as tire pressures, much depends upon your weight as well. 4 and 5 is a good start, with a bit more for rocky areas and a bit more if you are over 200 lbs, bit less for the mud! Go figure! Being fairly light at about 80 kilos, I can start out on a cool morning at 3 and 3.5. After riding a bit and the day warms, I am at 4 and 4.5 on average! That is how it changes! But more aggressive riders will bash some rims if not careful. Of course they will do it reguardless!
  17. He has to be in Cali Aug 4-5 for the Nationals there, what date is Hawkstone?
  18. Yea Heath, up to 1/500th, ISO up to 1600, and 1/4000 on the shutter!
  19. What a ride! I think Pat must have gotton over the jetlag and jitters! You can have that beer now Craig!

    Pilgrimage

Would have liked to seen around Ft W., but Andy took the bee line to the pub! The rest cannot be "pub"lished!
  21. I managed to find a old one I had stashed away! Let see, 1972 from 2007= OLD!
  22. We already knew the HEAVYEST!
  23. Here is what I found as a good example of typical character of the D40, full auto mode in a complex DOF situation in crummy indoor lighting using only built in flash, tough conditions, this is still 3meg mode with less than 1 meg filesize in JPEG compression. In 6meg mode you could double the res! If you see the little guy on the sign, you still cannot see the pee pee, but that was not the intent! The overall wide view is very good! Although nothing is perfect!
