    4 Stroke

Unless one is of the Big Bore 4t persuasion, THEN it is the cats meow! Awesome !
  2. Yes, well, good luck with it. Being an old school MX person, I found it too dangerous, too many idjets, and lacking ride time, and at too high cost. Not that I do not enjoy going fast, did I mention broken body parts?
  3. likely more fun with the enduros! Them kids at MX will kill you, not much ride time, high cost and lots of stupids out there! How brittle yer bones man?
  4. Multi tool, folding allens, smallish 6" adjustable spanner, a 10mm spanner and a sparkie in the Camelback, along with a couple zip-ties. Oh, and my midjet hand air pump ant tire guage! If that don't fix it, I am done for the day!
  5. Add ck to insure the tank vent tube is not blocked!
  6. Only 200 out there would be a Beta, sweet bike!!!! , otherwise go for 250 of choice. That money may get you a newer 315! Still a good solid bike if well kept!
  7. As again I have no idea just how this is normally done by others, but I would find examples if I were you. I would think some type of clamp-on brackets may be preferable as trials frames are thin wall metal, and a large bracket welded to it may just pull right out of the base material. And yes, the Tig offers much better control and a better outcome if done properly.
  8. Which system is this? Steve at Motoplat UK fixes most!
  9. As b40 states, caution must be used with pegs that are sharp edge! They will bite your boot so makes it difficult to slide or remove foot when needed as well! Seems many stock ali pegs are fairly gentile so the teeth do not bite, although I can tell that a Gasser HEBO style will!
  10. I should have recalled that fact! I started to look-up but it was too late! Are there any Allison powered 'Stangs running about? Depending, we may be at a tie!
  11. You are OLD, bad knees, bad back, bad wrists! Call up V-mar! He will make you an extension for your other toy!
  12. No idea what is normally used on such and will depend upon year of bike and frame design accordingly. Might contact MRS for help or examples, yet if you can barely weld with Mig, you may be well advised to stay off this and find yourself a decent Tig welder as needed before you botch it up! Good money spent there!
  13. NO, you are the only person on the planet that can afford one! I believe the plastic guards for the tank and muff are good investment for protection if you fall much. Contact Splatshop and see if Chris has other reccos. Keeping the Kiehin carb clean and happy is allways a good thing, not sure what bike you are off of, but same for most. Andat some point you will likely want to grease the steering head bearings up well as seeme they allways come a bit dry! Cheers,
  14. Martin, a question for you! Is there a reason you are not riding?
  15. Give yourself some room at first, then tighten things up as a challenge. Basics are key, not Big maneuvers. So, lets say you gat between two of them parallel logs less than a wheels distance apart. even the smaller ones. A Floater is key here in getting out. Another basic sometimes lost in the day of stop and hop, but a good floater can get you out of many jams!
  16. I like your diagram! I think you will find small changes in log spacing makes things difficult as you approach the wheelbase of the bike! Have fun!
  17. You have been warned about washing, even with hose, block off air filter box !!!!!!!!
  18. These typically come from factory with standard gasket then shim on top. I do not believe sealing has ever been a real issue, normally, and I do not like the use of excess sealants upon assembly. Within your "stack" I would likely slip the shim in the middle, as Dadof suggests, however I would limit the use of other sealers to a minimal light smear around the front coolant port as with the factory gasket, and that is all. Be your own judge, yet tread lightly! MC
  19. I would have to ck the specs, as memory fails, but, Hurricane-1 Lanc, possibly 4 Cat-0 Spit-1 Buch-0 Stang-1(late model) So 7 I would guess! So in return, FiFi flew over the shop the other day at low level, made a hellatious noise, question was "How many cylinders was That?"

    Boyesen Reeds

Yes, this is the sort of thing I was referring to, and my seat of pants readings on the Sherco also may suggest a bit of mid range hit as the secondary pedals open. Can be a nice perk if used properly. My basic thoughts tend to suggest the Carbons may be well balanced throughout the range, yet it seems there is allways a tradeoff.

Dave, I have been looking for reports on the carbons vs the duals stage. " Improvement is a subjective term, however wit some preferring things a bit more smooth and docile, and others a bit more rippy! Any other experience to add to your observations?

    Filter Oil?

Either would work fine, just like you are accustomed to no not to worry, just squeeze out excess oil.
