There should be more numbers on the frame, they are faint you may need to remove the paint, run along side the dgm number, why do you want to know the year? They are all the same really,

I use 1st in most sections, but if there is a good climb at the end 1st can be too slow, 2nd to fast on the flat. They are fantastic bikes, that little bit better than the minarreli engine.

Im running 13/53 on mine, would like to try it slightly higher. Can I ask why are you using 520 chain?

That's modern club trials, no one wants to lose marks! Organisers don't want people to get hurt so won't put anything in that may cause a big 5! Bikes new and old are better than they ever were, suspension and tyres alone. Trials is more social than competitive, especially in the twinshock zone

Only problem with the minarelli engine is it won't start in gear! So the 200 pro is better but not many about. As for the 240 or 300, if you can ride half decent the 200 is better, personally.

Gerry has made me some for my trifield, nice quality and 2 cups to hold roller bearings. I'm using 35mm marzochi forks in Norton road holders legs. Threse are allowed in Scotland pre65

Are you mistaken by a 500 twin triumph piston? If so 1 of them is 250cc, used regularly in the bsa unit single. As above keep it simple, and speak to Charlie Prescott. It will save you a lot of time and money

The biggest improvement is the wider footrests that get fitted, I did move mine back and down a little bit (approx 15mm down 20mm back) but I'm 6'5 so wanted to stand more upright on it. Don't get talked into steering angle mods this not needed on the 200 minarreli, but check the webbing that connects the top tube to the down tube under the tank, it may be cracked, easy weld job if it is.

Sounds more like the stator behind the flywheel, you can test the readings with a simple ohm reading test meter, the blue HT coils can be good but there is a lot of cheap copy ones coming in. If the stator hasn't been rewound in the last 10 years or so it is going to need doing soon, I messed around for a while changing one thing then the other, it just disappoints when it play up. Bradford windings I have found the best for the stator and Bill Pye for a black HT coil designed for a Fantic not Vespa!

Hi Will, that's where I found the bits, much bigger than the brass washer in the strainer, puzzled me where it has come from. Can't think where or what is was to end up in the sump ?

Just had another look and the flange to this bush is on the timing side, not crank side, also although bits are distorted it's too big in diameter to be from that bush!! Lost again!

Stripped the engine now and I think you guys are right, but the bush is not loose in the crankcase, and doesn't look like it has been turning, crank hasn't been rubbing on it, but have noticed oil feed hole doesn't line up.

Can anyone tell me where this washer should be? Took the sump filter off today and it was lying in the bottom, it's about 22mm diameter
