  1. My son's is the same i repacked the silencer cut the pipe and de-coked it then repacked it and welded it back together still the same :-( just how they are. I have found that ours started running badley (idle issues, wouldnt rev clean) so i carried out the mods on the gasgas website (usa) linked from r2wtrials and also up jetted from a 92 -96 main this has made it run vertually perfect but still needs a few revs to clean it out every now and again. The jet changes made it a lot less noisy aswell, just need to sort the loading that you get after a few very slow sections(might try leaning the needle off one clip position). We have also suffered carb icing so started adding pro fst to the fuel mix that fixed that (75:1). I think lots of the problems we have had with this bike are down to the **** overpriced fuel we all have to suffer, lots of 2 stroke road bikes have been siezing so have had to up jet funny how it only effects certain bikes though ? Hope this is of some help !!! Wish i had brought a beta 80 !!!!!

    Tyre psi

I run 6psi in the front and 2.5-3 psi in the rear seems to work down here in muddy gloucestershire !!!
  3. What does everybody think about Dan Thorpe's open letter to the ACU regarding no-stop etc ?
  4. ZONA 1 HAVE A TRIAL ON ON SUNDAY (CHECK ACU WESTERN CENTRE FOR DETAILS) THE BOYS UP THERE HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB IN THE QUARRY THEY SEEM TO BE PUTTING NEW SECTIONS IN ALL THE TIME ITS BECOMING A VERY GOOD VENUE THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING HARD AND I FOR ONE WILL BE THERE SUPPORTING THEM :-)
  5. What a shame after Its been used for at least 35 years to my knowledge and more like 50 plus years.(with a good relationship with the council and the local warden as long as no one rides in the car park area due to wild orchids growing there ) Pit bikes stolen bikes and the tossers that ride them...... know what i would do with them. How many times do you have to tell people not to ride in the car park ?????? ****ers I will miss riding there as will many others even Mr Saunders practiced up there back in the day it is that good. Aggs next i guess ?? at least up there one of them might kill themselves with a bit of luck as i said ****ERS
  6. There will be more riders ? not the three or four we have now, more will be able to get to the ends cards and therefore more would want to give it a go , three or four riders wont keep spectator numbers up !! So why please them ? maybe there does need to be a different rule but no stop would be better than what we have now, maybe if they all stopped arguing and sat down with the Fim they could come up with something ? After all there lively hood depends on it !!!! As for healthy entries down here in sunny gloucestershire at least 3 trials have been cancelled due to lack of entries, to my knowledge this year
  7. I think a lot of people seem to be missing the point, no stop trials will increase spectators, lets face it watching someone hoping for 10 mins is boring to the layman. Spectators = sponsors from outside the sport and what do young riders need to progress ??? SPONSORSHIP Also as sections would take less time, maybe the tv would be more intrested.... we could even get kickstart back :0) I don't dislike the rules as they are, but i also don't mind if they go back to how it allway's was. We need more intrest from the public as it will bring more money into the sport to help the younger ones (they are the future) and get more people interseted in riding trials if this had happened a few years ago maybe scorpa would still be with us and the shops would be doing a much better trade everyone's a winner Lets put trials back where it was and remember, its not about individuals
  8. It will be shut down if this carries on carpark area has wild orchids which is the reason why there is no riding in this area. The council turn a blind eye to trials riders but if these scumbags carry on that will be the end of it. Aggs is the same, the only plus side is that now winters approaching they will all vanish till next year ! Nettleton is slowly being turned into trials only this will be a gradual process over the next year or so. There will be a lot more sections going in with indoor type stuff on the flat gravel area in the middle with cycle trials also catered for, new gates are also to be fitted with a key for each member, membership cards with your mug shot have been issued so now policing who there is easier. If anyone is interested in joining and getting involved with the planned working parties pm me and i will pass details on, membership is
  9. look here www.saundersextremesports.co.uk
  10. Rode my 300 sunday seems a bit flat off the bottom not sure its rich, mine has a 120 main fitted. I think they have a very little ignition advance at low rpm, seems to grip better and the chassis/handling feels a lot better. What they should have done, is put a TPS sensor on the carb and mapped the ingnition from that, would have made more sense, the more throttle = more advance = more power Maybe need to finish running it in and see then-just my initial thoughts
  11. Got it Wednesday looks great !!! Should be out for a test ride and running in Sunday. Chassis just like the two smoke, engine like the last one, carb glitches seem to have gone and it feels like it wants to rev unlike the old one. Still nice and quiet

    Beta 4 Stroke

Just remembered the vent pipe from the top of the carb has a rubber boot pushed over it. These perish so check this, its at the top on the right as you sit on the bike. Mine went as did my mates, i just made a nylon bung. The bike runs odd if this vents to atmosphere.

    Beta 4 Stroke

Mine used to do this try a 110 main jet and get a Jitsie idle screw (makes adjusting easy) Then adjust for best idle, i found if there was a big change in temp i need to ajust this. - Hope this helps I also added a twin air filter and cut some of the baffles out of the exhaust, it now revs and revs and is a total joy to ride !
  14. Lampkins told me today the EVO 4T will be shipped from the factory next week, so could be in the dealers by the end of next week ! Looking forward to getting my nice shiny new bike !! With only

Looks great can't wait for mine to arrive !!!!!
  18. Hi have a look at the clutch as this drives the the bike, try some new shoes and a change of oil (ATF) seems to work best. Could also be the carb, my sons ran fine with a slightly raised tick over but would not pull with him on it on the ground ? Found out the carb had water in it after cleaning with carb cleaner and an air line i got the water out not as easy as it sounds, so take your time ! Hope this helps Andy
  19. Anyone got any ideas on how to stop my rear tyre going flat within a couple of hours ? previous owner had fitted a tube ? i have removed the tube fitted a new valve and sealing strip from lampkins still does it i will try a new tyre next and see what happens ! but i dont think theres a problem with the tyre could'nt see any air bubbles coming out when i put it in the bath !!! hope the wife does'nt read this !! some guys have suggested using a tyre sealer like slime but it makes such a mess maybe i fitted the sealing strip wrong but i did what lampkins advised hope someone out there can help ?

    Beta Staterplate

Get it rewound at west country windings, did one for me a while back they put extra windings on and the bike ran better than ever ! Also try a fine tip plug the spark goes earlier my bike seemed to run better for it ! Oh and its cheaper than a new one, and not lightly to wrong again !
  21. Try Steve Saunders he runs schools near to Cheltenham/Gloucester if you contact him he may give you a one to one. Contact him through his web site saundersextremesports google it. I have learnt a lot at his schools and found them great fun, and at some great venues. Go for it !!
  22. I'm on my second love it ! I have no problems, the new 08 top of the range one it fits me very well with no vision problems at all. guess it just depends if it fits your head !!! I find the Hebo one i had painfull on my forehead and ears. You need to try one to see if its comfortable and fits well, they do give a little so make sure its a snug fit, hope this helps.
  23. Thanks is it a case of just turning up ? and how much do they charge ? and are they open every weekend ?
  24. have you got the directions to top farm can't find it on the OS map thanks
  25. No no restrictions for Aggs look for hope hill by the other GCHQ (not the donut) on an OS map and follow the road to the pilons at the top 1/2 mile before on the left you will find the quarry. Nettleton is on the A417 2 miles ish from the Air Baloon pub heading towards Swindon and just before the roundabout its on your left. As for Kilkenny its on the A436 by the pub in the on the way to Andoversford hope tis helps.
