  1. Thanks for that. I suppose that will be my only choice but i was hoping someone had tried the cheaper pattern parts available for Derbi senda etc ?
  2. I have to rebuild the calipersand master cylinders on a 305 fantic. As the originals are in quite grotty condition I would prefer to replace with new in preference to rebuilding. Has anyone fitted something new that was reasonably priced off something else?
  3. Good man hopefully you may have competition, different class so not really lol, from Mark Truman as he says he's coming. Told him you and Pete would show him round
  4. Peak Classic are holding round 4 of their 2017 Club Championship this weekend Sunday 23rd April at Dudwood Farm, Elton, Derbyshire. DE4 2LZ Start time 11.00am entries close 15 mins prior to the start. Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman routes Classes for British Bikes, Twinshocks, Pre95 air cooled monos and over 50's on moderns. Do you ride any of the above? Are you fed up of riding at clubs that just put on a "classic" class but dont make any concessions for the bike you ride expecting you to ride the same sections as the moderns and wunderkids ? Fed up of then using you as a cash cow to make up for falling entries? Then come and ride with a Classic Club that only caters for riders like you riding a classic bike. We aim to offer a fun day out and you choose the route to match how competitive YOU want to be. So come along and join in the fun in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District.
  5. Has anybody seen the results from last Sundays NBBR round organised by Midland Classic ?
  6. Is it a steel one ? Looks like one. Alloy ones are all 1.60 rears are usually WM2 1.85 wide but some fit WM3 which is wider. Personally i wouldnt use it on the front as it just wont handle right.
  7. True but Firefly's also had nickel plated frames and snail cams on the swing arm spindle.
  8. Looks like its been relisted at £12000
  9. Must admit i'm very impressed with how youve taken to it and look forward to seeing you progress over the years.
  10. All part of the learning curve mate. Its still doable plus if you start in 10 rounds then you automatically get your 2018 membership free. 9 starts and you qualify for awards. 8 starts and you are entered for the end of season raffle. So lots to still play for mate. You should have got Pete to lend you the money
  11. Just to let anyone who might be interested know I have just updated the clubs website so for the results of last Sundays trial along with current Championship standings please visit www.peakclassic.co.uk
  12. Hope all the riders who turned out to support the club enjoyed themselves. The weather was superb. The venue was in excellent condition and it was great to see smiling faces. Thank you to all that rode. Website should be updated with results and Championship standing by Wednesday evening.
  13. Depends on where he plans to ride it. Best to check with the club for eligibility. Probably be ok riding on a no award basis or as a twinshock but definitely not Pre 65. As robido said if its cheap enough though might be worth a punt.
  14. Apparently T&MX News have omitted to include our event in their whats on and regs available section yet again. So please let all your friends know that this Sunday 26th March we are holding Round 3 of our Club Championship at Stathams Quarry opposite Matlock Golf course on the A632 Tansley to Chesterfield road post code DE4 5LZ start time is as always 11.00 am however dont forget to put your clocks forward or you'll be late. Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman routes. Classes for British bikes, Pre 85 twinshocks, Pre95 air cooled monos and over 50's on moderns. Ive been down there today and the ground has dried out nicely so we will be using some of the climbs in the far woods as well on Sunday. So come along and join in the fun. See you there.
  15. Hi as far as i know the bike wasnt registered. Be interested in what your experiences were with the bike. Plus points as well as negatives. One of the reasons for buying it was that i have an idea that it would be a good thing to introduce a class primarily on the easy route for what i have euphemistically termed "forgotten era" namely the Sachs engined bikes, Puch engined ones, Greeves Pathfinders, Saracens, Sprites Alta and McLaren Suzukis, Radial fin Bultacos etc in fact all those bikes that i and many others owned and we all grew up with but you never see them now other than making zombie like appearances at shows which i find really sad. These bikes were made to be used and ridden in competition. So i thought the best way to get the ball rolling was to get one and ride it in my clubs trials. Then i came upon the problem that i am now unable to obtain parts for them Oh well good idea while it lasted. Back to the James and Bantam. Would have been nice to see something different being ridden though.
  16. Rang Steve Goode today Dave but he sold all his stuff to Paul Powell so a dead end there. Shame because Steve is a top bloke. So the search continues looks like gautreks idea may be the only option.
  17. He refuses to deal with me and has requested I don't contact him ever again. Says I was rude and abrupt when I purchased some crankcases over the phone from him that would have required extensive welding which was obvious when I unpacked them. Obviously I complained and he replaced them with a perfect pair. I thanked him and thought it was all done and dusted but apparently not for him. So now I have a box of bits and need parts but don't know where to get anything from. Can see why people don't ride these any more. Thanks for the input Dave.
  18. Can anyone advise where i could source parts for a Minarelli motor 175cc circia 1972. Interested in a gasket kit, rod kit, clutch parts, covers etc Preferably UK but if not then Europe or USA. Cheers
  19. Close to what i am running but Main Jet 400 ???????? I'm running a 120 If they are running a 400 it must be on Methanol or something.
