    Beta2005

Anyone got any ideas how much a 2005 Beta will cost in UK?? Just curious
  2. Might lead to confusion.......was it ME or the computer that crashed!
  3. I got the long sealskinz from bvm-moto and they are brilliant. My boots leak like buggery..even after dubbin/wax...I tried everything. BUT the sealskinz are the best thing..slightly longer than my boots. AND I've worn them here in about 30oC and about 90 percent humidity..and they weren't TOO sweaty.
  4. OK..job done...can't believe it..AND I didnt break anything. Just in case anyone else is watching this with interest I can now confirm that you MUST drain the coolant first (thanks ROn!)..can be done very easily by opening the screw at the bottom of water pump. AND..you must remove bash-plate and rubber, since one of the clutch cover bolts is hiding behind the bash plate rubber. In fact the hardest/worst part of the job was taking the bash plate off and on. Its a nightmare...VERY easy to strip the threads..especially if you cannot hold the plate with G clamps or something whilst inserting/removing the bolts. SO...back on the bike again...hopefully some more crashing on the weekend
  5. Phew..thats good news...THanks g.rasp I might even be able to get it right now. Off to do it in a mo..will let you all know later how I get on. Cheers for all the help.
  6. Yep...great article..that would be worth printing and framing even.!
  7. Heres an Asian swing on things Beta boy. The owner of our trials club here, made his own shirt and trousers. Both are fairly tight, and especially the arms of the shirt. He reckons the shirt arms were made tight, because it supports the muscles ...dont ask me...just what he said. Maybe a VAGUELY similar idea to a tubi-grip...but of course lycra wouldn't be that tight or supporting.
  8. Thanks RON, Thats what I was hoping..and I did think the bash-plate rubber might be a nuisance...know what you mean about the C clamps though, since I've had the bash plate off before. But...(and this is probably a dumb question)..why would I have to drain all the coolant?..I was hoping it just all stayed within the pump/system? Thanks in advance if you can help me a bit on that one. Keep those suggestions coming in folks ...I need ALL the help I can get!
  9. Hi all, noticed the clutch cover gasket on my 2002 Rev3 250, is sticking out at the top, and leaking oil. I've got a new one, and am looking to replace it tommorow. I'm assuming the water pump has to come out first?..or does it come away with the rest of the clutch cover ..all in one piece?..(haven't looked that closely at it yet). If I do need to take out the water pump gubbings first..will I need to drain the system? ANY advice is welcome..'cause I'm not TOO good with the spanners ..Thanks in advance for any help.
  10. If I get the same bike as you though Heath...I wouldnt be able to blame the bike anymore..when I cant keep up with your tricks!
  11. Hi Kal, Just a quick message of thanks...I too, have found your information VERY helpful. I hope you will continue to try and keep us all informed. It IS very much appreciated
  12. Good answer r2w...and you're right...Beta's ARE the best!
  13. Bummer...you got me there...I forgot that I have a habit of snapping plastics
  14. I totally agree r2w...I was quite surprised how little there was in the way of "trade-stands" at Hawkstone. Of course the trial was magic though..and lets hope there IS a world round in England/Scotland soon. Its fair to say though, that (if my memory is correct)...there was only ONE trade stand at the World round in Puerto Pajares/SPAIN. THat was a Gas-Gas one. Again..I was surprised there wasnt more.
  15. OH...and order 2 sets... ..just in case the first new set get bent!!
  16. Bugger!!..now every Joe Blow in Hong Kong is getting in on the action!... ...only joking!!...good to see you posting on here ShercoHK....told you it was a good site..didnt I!!...(apart from my lousy posts I guess) Buy em...from bvm moto like beta boy suggested..thats where I do..and they're always very good. ANd stop being like a man with short arms and deep pockets!!..get some new 'uns.....(hee hee)
  17. That looks like a "factory" picture...and I thought the 05 model had a big (old fashioned) headlight on it Maybe its an optional extra to have the more cool looking flat one?
  18. OUCH!!!......maybe I wont moan so much about a cable clutch next time then
  19. Hi Folks, Thanks r2w....you're right. But the cable clutch wasn't the only strange thing. It was bloody hard to ride!!...getting back on my Rev3 tommorow, to try and remind myself that I'm not THAT crap a rider..(maybe). When all's said and done..I'd rather ride a more modern bike BUT..it was great to see the Aprilia running well again...(thanks to Heath). See ya
  20. Hopefully Heath will be very obvious in his Trials Central shirt..so we can all touch base during the day, and decide which watering hole to invade in the evening
  21. It'll have to be louder when there are four bangers galore Sorry...just couldnt resist stirring a little
  22. Well.. Me and the Mrs..and Heath FINALLY found a <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> near Hawkstone..(not easy)...any of you out there planning to stop there..phone NOW..they all seem to be full. Will be staying in Cockshut near Wem...and probably in the Leaking Tap pub for a pint Saturday night
  23. HI all, Trying to get a 1993 Aprilia Climber running...but having trouble getting it to tick over properly. Does anyone know the basic settings for the air and fuel screw???...It might help me....any other advice also welcome. Thanks in advance
