Sorry for the poor quality tried to put it on in higher quality but exceded the file size limit.
Send me your email address and I'll send a better copy.
Chris

Question already answered, they do mail order.
-
The list came this morning and yes the St Davids is the first round, shame it clashes with the Jack Wood though
-
gasgas I'm presuming your bike is a pro going by your atavar if so this has crank case induction Magicmat bike is cylinder induction so needs the windows in the piston. It might run without the windows but it's not worth using a brand new piston to try it, get it changed for the proper one.
-
Hi
Yes the basket should move a bit, if you have a look at the attached drawing you'll see the basket is mounted on to rubber buffers things.
I'm guesing you have come off a older bike and probably the clutch slipped a little before biting, you should get used to it I think and if the clutch plate are that new they will get better for you with use.

Yeah got to agree with you the St David shouldn't clash with the Jack Wood especially to suit 5 non-championship riders.
I would prefer to do the Jack Wood and you can drop one round in the British championship but knowing how close it was last year in the championship and I'm guessing it might be even closer this year so I don't think I can afford to miss the very first round.
Boyd the Jack Wood regs are out already here

Your missing clutch springs would have probably been taken out to allow the clutch to slip a bit more, it makes it easier for beginers learning to ride.
-
I always put 450cc in the gear box as recomended.
-
Sherco exhausts have a aluminium outer so its not wise using caustic soda, the aluminium may disapear.
You can cut them open and repack them but its not easy, the easyist way is to just buy a new one.
Burning them out sometimes helps depending on whats its like before you start, if you only use your bike in closed corse trials the exhaust slowly fills with oil and carbon so burning it out can help but if you doing road trials the exhaust gets hot enough to burn the oilly carbon deposit off so burning it out with a blow torch will probably make things worce.
You have to be carfull hot to get the exhaust to hot when burning them out, I did one for my brother and got it a bit to hot, it sound mint when I put it back on but a few weeks latter it started rattling. Turns out the wire wool had melted then fell in to big lumps which rattled in the exhaust, also the fibreglass packing in the rear of the exhaust had also burn't away.
-
How long are you leaving it ticking over
-
I've got a nearly new one for
-
Boyd
I hope your not trying to get away with only doing 1/3 of the course.
-
You are supposed to register at the start of the year, the ACU draw up a priority list and a reserve list for if there isn't a full entry. Usually though there is a few of the rounds without a full entry even with the reserves so the clubs let other people ride.
So I guess you could say anyone can ride but they aren't guaranteed to get a ride unless there on the list.
You don't have to be sponsored
-
Did you get the crank pin with the kit then?
As for the flywheel torque setting, I know sherco should be done up to 100Nm but can't help with the exact figure for your bike, you could try scribing a line on both the nut and thread that way up should get it to the same torque as it is at the moment but chances are its been off before and not torqued up to the correct amount anyway.
Have you tried ringing Gas Gas they might be able to give you the correct value.
Here is another two stroke building webpage for you to look at www.macdizzy.com, I think you'll find it usefull.
Cheers
Chris
-
I think they must be a special size as they are even listed on the SKF website, they do some similar but like the one you have i.e. a bit thinner 10mm instead of 12mm.
The proper ones do come with new seals and bushes I think.
-
Usually when you take them apart to regrease them and notice they're rusted up soild.
Overwise when your bikes on a stand, lift the back wheel up and feel for play.
-
Alright then a Spherical plain bearing to be correct.
Also know as a rose joint, ball joint, rod end bearing and apparantly a heim joint.
Cheers
Chris
-
You might need the rose joint for the top and bottom of the shock aswell.
Sorry don't know the sizes without looking.

Magicmat
I've seen a crank realigned in a lathe before, using Dial Test Indicators (D.T.I.) to check the alignment and a big mallet but this is probably not a right good idea unless you know what your doing. The main bearing journals on each side of the crank have to be concentric, not sure of the actual tolerance but if it's not right the main bearings will fail prematurely and probably other components too, can't really see how you could use a diy laser.
Have a read of this website it explains how it should be done properly www.ericgorr.com/twostktech/2techcrankrepair
He also meantion in there that the connecting rod, bearing and pin should never be reused.
Chris
-
Hi
I'm guessing you won't be changing the big end bearing by youself so why don't you ask the shop who you intend using to have a look, if there any good they will tell you if you need just a new bearing or not. No one can tell you if you need one without looking at it.
You do know the crank has to be pressed apart to fit the new bearing then pressed back together and realined to less than a thou, quite a specalist job.
