  1. You would probably be more ilegal if you did get the front light working, as if you have lights on a bike they must all work and there must be a working brake light as well.
  2. Try removing the breather pipe from exhaust side of the bike, it tends to get nipped causing poor running especially when going up or down something steep. This happened on mine a few times, I now drilled the breather on the other side out so I can use that instead. I also notice your running a smaller main than mine with a larger pilot (125 main, 48 pilot) could be just the different climates Hope that help's Chris
  3. Yeah, Why not it was a 5p listing day I would have given most of the stuff away if I knew anyone local who wanted it. Someone somewhere will want it I hope, it could work out quite cheap if they buy it with something else. Yeah sorry about that, I put a list of all trials bikes on the title so people would see my stuff when searching. I'll have to try and get ebay to set up a dedicated trials category Back to the spark plug topic I find it hard to believe there is any noticeable difference when using expensive plugs You be better in my opinion using the correct plug and changing it a bit more often Chris
  4. Hi Just be carful the P on the plug stands for projector or somthing like that, basicly the tip projects further out of the end of the plug. I've got the correct plug for your bike and it's for sale at the moment on ebay. Click Here
  5. Dabster They are all the same 02,03,04 & 05 unless you had a 200 or a 125 Cheers Chris
  6. I doubt it, the piston will probably have some special coating like this http://www.polydyn.com/hpecapp.htm but I can't see them using titanium for the piston, they probably use titanium for the wrist pin, conrod and crank tho. Chris

    Silencer Repacking

I know shame its not my own (my always looks like bird poo), I get a bloke from the local bike shop to it for me. He used to weld aluminium swingarms for a job
  8. If you can get hold of a cylinder head of an early bike (2002 pro I think), these heads had a smaller capacity giving the bike more compression and therefore more power. Cheers Chris
  9. He is not as young as you would think, he was riding in the Adult European Championship way back in 1998, so he must be about 23ish Cheers Chris

    Silencer Repacking

I done about 4 of them They look alright afterwards as long as you get someone who can weld properly. If you are thinking of repacking the exhaust by cutting it open, the exhaust is split in to 2 compartments with an aluminium plate, the front half is packed with wire-wool (this part was ok, tho it may require excess oil/carbon to be burnt off) and the rear half is packed with a fiber glass material this can get burnt away with time so if you want to repack it I suggest you cut the exhaust outer skin in half just behind the spot welds, pull the rear of the exhaust off, this should leave the steel baffle pipe exposed then remove old packing and replace with new, slide the rear of the exhaust back on and get it welded back on. Hope this helps, I'll try and sort you a picture out later Cheers Chris (Edit pictures added)
  12. Do you mean you cut all the radius off the stop plate or something else? Sounds a bit dodgy to me Cheers Chris
  13. Put a keihin carb on and exhaust system of the 280, you will lose a bit of bottom end but it will rev to the moon. Can't see you gaining much by just changing the reeds.
  14. Give Malcolm Rathmell Sport a ring on 01423 772885 They will sort you out with some clice clothing Cheers Chris
  15. I preferred the 2004 trial to the 2003 trial except section 7 for obvious reasons, both were good tho. Could you use the river sections up towards the pipe line sections if you know what I mean? Cheers Chris

    Cota

I changed my mind a bit since I heard the first one, there was one at or club trials the other day so I had a bit of moan at him, he told me he had removed all the restrictors from the exhaust. Then I saw him again a week later with the restrictor back in, well some of them anyway, sounded so much better So all you 4RT owners out there put your restrictors back in and save our land you know you want to. Cheers Chris
  17. I was there as well as Gary Jenkins and Wayne Holdsworth all Sherco supported riders, and in the Beta camp there was Michael Brown, James Dabil, Maria Conway to name a few. Cheers Chris
  18. Nigel Tom finished 4th in the masters, just behind me. Cheers Chris
  19. There a full list of non-eligible riders on Trialstalk Cheers Chris
  20. Carly It's was on todotrial.com under Cabestany moves to Sherco, but seam to have gone now. Cheers Chris

    Keihin Carb On 290

jaysee Yes the Keihin is quite a bit different, it about 4mm shorter and both ends of the carb are of a larger diameter, on the 04 sherco I put a 4mm spacer in the inlet manifold to allow for the shorter carb, the 05 bike has a spacer on the reed cage and pushes the carb back anyway. Getting the original rubbers on can be a pain, but if you get them quite warm they will just stretch on. Marlintec did you ever get your Bult 4T project finished? Cheers Chris

    Keihin Carb On 290

Both the rubbers will stretch over the carb, but they might not last very long. I'm using the original rubbers at the moment, I've not even turned the airbox rubber around, it just stretches over the carb (you may need to warm it up first), I leave it fastened on and only undo the other end (i.e. directly on to the airbox) I find it easier that way. There are a few type's of cable adjusters for the top of the carb if you have got the screw in one replace it with the one out of your delorto carb. Cheers Chris

    Cota

Hi I'm just interested in peoples opinions, as I can see if there was say 100 4strokes riding in one event (it might happen in a few years) there would be a huge noise problem maybe leading to clubs losing their little precious land they've got left. Cheers Chris

    Keihin Carb On 290

Ian try these 45-48 pilot, 125 main, 3.5 slide, JJH needle and middle clip position. Air screw wants to be about 3/4 to 1 1/4 turns out depending on conditions. Cheers Chris
  25. Not sure what time it will start but it will be either 10.30 or 11.00 Cheers Chris
