  1. If someone calls you a poof for wearing white boots, pull their trousers down and spank their bare bottom......... That will show them that you are not a poof!!!!!!!?????
  2. Good idea, you will really enjoy them. Best of luck
  3. www.bvm-moto.co.uk These guys are excellent
  4. Hi there, I used to have the exact same bike, it proved to be reliable and robust and was good for general mucking about on. However, in the burns of Scotland it turned out to be a bit of a handfull. When I changed to a 250 Beta my scores at trials almost halved and the arm pump all but disappeared. So as a first bike it may just be a bit much. Good luck
  5. What happened with the 4t rollout, was it a well kept secret ?
  6. When a tyre wears the square edge on the knobble becomes rounded and this compromises grip in muddy conditions. When the tyre is turned the square edge is restored, however a lack of grip will be apparent on descents after the tyre is turned for obvious reasons. Hope this helps
  7. Don't want to sound like a killjoy but practicing like that without the appropriate helmet and boots is going to end with someone getting hurt.
  8. I got my Gas Gas TXT shock rebuilt by Falcon (www.falconshockabsorbers.co.uk) and found them to be very good, they even manufactured a new piston rod as the original was corroded. Would image that they would do Beta shocks too
  9. I heard that too, but seriously lining out and into the washing machine with non bio tablets and then onto the washing line or airing cupboard. My wife doesn't care much for a wiffy helmet
  10. Can anybody help with contact details of where they have found best prices for Dunlops or Michelins. Looking on the web prices for rears range from 65 to 90 pounds which seems a huge variation. Also do the tyres go "off" with age, for example would a new tyre stored for 5 years begin to harden and become less grippy. Thanks Graeme
  11. This sounds interesting, any more cryptic info
  12. This may sound stupid but try to relax yourself and your grip on the handlebars in the section and on the course between them. Try to use your legs rather than your arms to take the strain of the bike when possible. Breathing regularly is a good tip too, the more oxygen you can get into your system the less pump you should get. Make sure you are taking breaths all the way through the section, some people breath once at the start of a section and then nothing till they gasp at the end. Stretching, warming up and ensuring you are properly hydrated before riding will help too. Ensure your handlebars and controls are set at the correct angle to get optimum ergonomics. During enduros I use a technique to help loosen my grip, I only use my thumb and index finger to hold onto the grip from time to time when the terrain allows and this gives the forearms a rest and therefore reduces the effect of arm pump. Hope this helps
  13. Excellent piece and good pictures Tony - Brightened up my boring afternoon ,Better get back to work now!!
  14. Why would you want to do this? Surely this would allow water and other foreign material into this area
  15. I have had a problem bleeding the clutch before and it turned out that the lever span adjuster was in too far and wouldn't allow sufficient travel of the master cylinder piston. When the adjuster was backed off the system bled in minutes. Might be worth checking.
  16. Are you kidding?, If not pop Fort Wiliam into google or go to WH Smith and ask for a road map of Great Britain. I believe the daily routes are published on the SSDT website nearer the time Hope this helps

    Beta Rev Gear Oil

I don't think it is, the beta will need very light gear oil or at a push ATF otherwise the clutch will drag
  18. I wonder if you would have to go up on the Monday or Tuesday if you would like to see one in action.
  19. Sammy Miller does a universal chain tensioner but I have experienced some difficulties getting it to fit and operate correctly, I guess some modification is required. The swing arm looks as though it has provision for OEM device but I have never seen one.
  20. Very similar in the fact neither can sit down!!!!
  21. There is also a club in North Ayrshire, Stevenston and District MCC which runs around 8-10 trials per year including a shared series with the Dalmellington club. Contact club secretary or watch the calender for upcoming events.
  22. It might be worth trying to build up your lower back and core muscles by doing some specific exercises or go swimming and cycling. Ibuprofen works a treat too!!!
