I'am in the process of restoring a RTL250 from 1985. At this moment i'am busy with the wheels. Both wheels need new spokes and rims.
I have measured the offset of the wheels but i have doubts on the rear wheel. I have measured 7,5mm.
At this moment i don't have the possibility to line out with the front wheel or what ever.
Does anyone know the real offset or is 7,5 mm OK ?
-
Yes that's the right just connect the red/white wire with the green wire.

This cable is what you need for the Ossa.
It's from a friend of my who had an Ossa. Making a copy of the cable is not the biggest problem.
The problem is how do you get the communication unit??

Perhaps he saw the picture recently for the first time ???

Hi,
I'am also busy with a JCM Europa from a friend of my. It was in a very bad state. The conrod was bend and the piston had a split ?? (see picture) on the top and side.
I manage to get a new piston at BMZ France, and last year i was on hollidays in France in the neighborhood of Vesoul i went to Joel Corry for some spareparts.
Most of the parts he had were from the early JCM before it went to Streit Racing, it does not happen as often, but this time i was lucky and he found the last green rear mudguard in his stockroom with a lot of dust but without any scratch.
The engine is a Gasgas engine, inside you can see the gasgas partnumbers, and the conrod is replaced by a gasgas conrod.
Some pictures of the JCM

Plastic parts are from Bmz and Bosisio, the decals are reproduced by my self, just like the rest of the parts.

I will not ride it, it is an collection item.

I can write a book on my experince with the hacking of the ECU.
Started with cutting open a standard ECU and finished with an unsatisfied fealing.
The standard body has also two mappings, a homologation (road legal) and competition mapping activated when you remove the lights.
It is possible to change the mapping of standard body, but you must have the software which is right for the standard body.
The connection leads will also connect to the standard ECU but the software we can buy is not right for the standard ECU.
If you use the single stage software on a twin map ecu you will get get an error message on your screen and in the other way also.
An other way is to tweak the software we can buy.
I have done this with the single stage software which i now can use for a two stage ecu and for the twin map software which is now usable for the single stage ECU.
Connecting direct to the ECU in the way they do with the factory Montesa's is in my opinion the easiest way but ......
My knowledge of EEPROM and EE programming is almost zero so i can't go any further. Till now it cost me hundreds and hundreds of hours to come to this point. I have made for myself the decission to stop with it.

It is 241, it was sold with a 212cc engine.

What do you think of changing the mapping for less engine braking?

Hi,
Had also the problem to remove the sleeve, but did it without any special tool except a two leg puller.
I rotated the flywheel 180 degrees put the two key's back which lock the flywheel, put the long special nut on the cranckshaft to keep the flywheel in place and put a two leg puller on it.
For others who also find problems and don't have that special tool

Minarelli engine if i remeber. This engine is verry well known so there should be parts enough to find. Search for minarelli piston. What are the dimensions, diameter, compression height?

Hi,
On montesa4rt.nl are pictures from the modification (section tuning).

On a rainy i spent some time with the Fantic and made a pair new footrest holders.
