  1. Yes thats a bog standard 290 straight out of the box. Michaels bike comes next week when Paxau has done his magic on it. It has a very throaty sound which is amplified by the fact that it draws its air in near the headstock now. He was amazed at the lightness and how much smaller it seemed. There are 2 working bikes in the UK which are now at our friends BVM for their open day. Hopefully next week we may start getting the first bikes through which will be 290's in the first batch. To answer the question about the tank breather, its situated under the mudguard near the filling cap and incorporates a uni-directional breather valve. There was no problem at all with fuel starvation even with bike at 90 degrees vertical. Personally i was amazed how easy i managed to flick the front and rear round and also balancing it and i'm a lowly old novice who falls off for fun. Can't wait til we have one on demo !!
  2. Take a look at what Browny makes of the first bike in the country, here -
  3. Hi Chris, your bike is under 3 years old so no messing about with the lights as yet for the MOT. You just need to get hold of the Certificate of Newness as Chewy rightly said, from who ever you got it from or the Importer John Lampkin. Then insure it on the frame number and take the official cover note along with
  4. Killer from Malcolm Rathmell Sport takes you through the improvements in the latest machine from SHERCO. Take a closer look HERE at the bike on the stand at the Dirt Bike Show and see what you think. Ready ? Discuss ...........

  6. Good Luck mate hope all goes well and things go your way on the day
  7. Extremely unlikely for the TDN, more chance of first show at the Dirt Bike Show and first pictures early Oct
  8. As a fellow organiser of a local Motor Club it restores my faith in the trials community when people like you take the time to acknowledge the hard work of people involved in their local club whom do so much hard graft, unpaid, in order that others enjoy their chosen sport. Too many times do people quickly criticise the sterling efforts of club officials without ever offering to help set out, organise or even observe a trial. So its nice that people like yourself make the effort to highlight the great work done by their club. Well done Diss and respect to Wherry, shame their aren't more like you.

    2010 Prices

You're right we are. I am hoping that due to the Euro recovering slightly it will cover the expense of the new parts which are now standard on this years model. Hopefully they will resist the urge to push the price beyond most peoples pockets and keep it around the 2009 price which i believe Beta and Sherco are trying to do. However there may be a slight fluctuation should the Euro start messing around again. Any pre orders that we are receiving now are on the proviso that they don't include the free insurance offer should the price exceed that which we have listed. All new bikes will however be fitted with Smartwater security whatever the price as we hate any thought of thieving scumbags trying to relieve people of their pride and joy. Which ever way the price goes, we can't wait to see the new machine in the flesh as it looks stunning in the pics
  11. Take a look at a few images from Carlisle including the point in which Toni Bou bailed out on section 4 - Trials UK World Round Pics - Enjoy Regards Nige Trials UK
  12. Both of those boots are great for walking a section, but forget riding in them. You need the proper flat trials sole of the Diadora Stone 3 Pro or Gaerne Classic or any number of other makes mate. Also, i believe, the ones pictured are not fully waterproof, so they won't keep your pinkies dry. Personally i've not found anything as comfortable as the Gaerne, i wear them all day through out the week at work
  13. If the plastic under the grip is white is a fast throttle, if black its slow mate
  14. We had that before and it turned out to be the coil mounted on the left side next to fan which had a connection underneath out of sight which was earthing out against the frame. Made good the connection problem sorted.

  16. As with the standard plugs, BP5ES and BP7ES, the bikes are usually sent out with a '7' in. Then when its run in change over to the hotter '5' plug.
  17. Hi Mike, the age is shown in the frame number by the letter in the middle. For instance this year (2008) is "J". Let us know what letter you have and we will find a year for you mate
  18. Gaerne have one of the slimest wall thicknesses and are built with a Drytech lining to make them waterproof. They also fit like slippers after trying all the others. Well worth the extra cost.
  19. There is Parkwood Offroad centre just opposite the Holiday Inn in Tong mate.
  20. They are going into production in next couple of weeks and any good GasGas dealer can sell you one mate but be prepared to say goodbye to the best part of 4 1/2 grand due to the ridiculous state of the pound/euro which is getting worse by the day
  21. The reason GasGas can't supply quick enough is a shortage of forks from marzocchi which has been caused by their commitment to supply the needs of BMW's new models. This has had the effect of pushing the smaller customers (gasgas etc) down the pecking order. We have been waiting for 250's to come in for a while and hope that the fork manufacturers can cope with the demands so we can all get our bikes asap.
  22. Now thats the kind of pic i need for my site. Has he thought of taking up professional modelling?????
  23. One of the best posts i have seen in a long time and just what the forum needs. Everyone pitching in for a discussion about the sport we love instead of some people posting bizarre comments that end up with ridiculous childish bickering. Well done for putting the pictures up (not forgetting the great photographer) and thank you for all the interesting info everyone else has provided to complete the jigsaw. Nice one all of you. Nige Trials UK
  24. Best all round for fit and value seem to be the Diadoras, but what ever you go for make sure you go up at least one size from your show size, preferably 2 sizes if they have waterproof socks in.
