  1. Have you put the wheel spacers back in the correct positions?
  2. I run mine flush but the steering angle has been adjusted. Call Mr Allen he will tell you, He,s been riding his 200 rather well lately.
  3. Remove one of the springs, turn shock other way up, see if the damping still works. If no, there's your answer.
  4. Hi Joe, I'm not far from you and my exhaust might be available to open up. Could it be done so a new outer skin could be put back? Might as well get it right after all the effort so far.
  5. Hi Joe, looking good. What about supplying just the outer skin to graft onto the original? I'm interested both ways.
  6. Welcome back. I had one of those back in the day, kept jumping out of first gear! Enjoy.
  7. Mikuni on mine, runs much better now!
  8. More like 349 2 stroke and nearer to 1985.
  9. I am just trying a carb on mine from a tlr200. Only just fits as they are taller but seems to be working well. The original was worn and could not set a reliable idle.
  10. The carb on mine is a- Keihin PC040 BRK 22mm bore (engine end) 105 main jet, 38 pilot jet. The inlet rubber boot (airbox to carb) is from a TL125, two for sale on ebay now. The wheels are Honda but I do not know which model, sorry. Hope this helps get the old girl going again!
  11. Does anyone know if there is any weight difference between makes?
  12. I just run a single pipe from the crankcase connection up to the top of the airbox. There is a plastic 'tab' on the top of the box which the tube fits under. I have seen others run the pipe into the airbox. Just make sure the pipe is not constricted so the cases can breath. A recent bike purchase gave a small surprise as the cdi unit had been mounted in the airbox!

    Tlr250

Does anyone know the torque settings for the cylinder head bolts? (Tlr250)
  14. If you have extended the operating arm your cable may not be long enough to allow for this. Take all of the adjustment out both at the lever and at the bottom end of the cable next to the cylinder. If still no good you need to extend the cable inner. (New cable)

    Steering

Tlr200's sit low at the rear so move the bottom shock mounts forward to raise back end. Cut frame top tube and pull back front wheel. Fit a 6mm spacer into the top tube gap. Extend swinging arm 25mm to put wheel base back to what it was before you pulled back the front wheel. The steering will now be as quick as you could ever need it to be! I did all of the above and it transformed the bike........but it still doesn't steer as well as my cota200 or seeley!!

    Steering

Buy a twinshock with good steering geometry, like a 200 Montesa or Fantic. They were built for competition and don't need any cutting and welding! Bikes like Honda Tlr's were designed to be trail bikes or at best dual purpose and hence need modifications.
  17. Has anyone tried a TLR carb on a Seeley? Been having the usual problems with the original, erratic tickover and lack of adjustment.
  18. I fitted Fat bar conversion clamps which also act as risers to a Tlr. The set up is similar to the Rtl and it worked very well.
  19. So which of my bikes has suffered the most depreciation due to recent events, AJS or Gasgas?
  20. It works in some classes of car racing.
  21. Lets hope the rules and reg's for the ongoing National twinshock championship are robust and detailed enough to stop this happening with Twinshocks!
  22. They all had chain tubes from new. You may need to fit a chain guard to keep mud off your chain. Replacement tubes and brackets are available. Have fun!
  23. If the carb has been removed, check the 'o' ring has room to expand in it's groove. When refitting do not over tighten the nuts or you can distort the carb body.
