    2017 Txt Gp

Sooooo your all aware that the Milan show is happening this week right? Expect other manufactures to release their goods as well. Sorry to see this gp with a carb to be honest... the xiu rdi drop in fuel injected upgrade was thought of as the "next step". I expect trs to be sued by honda now that the have their own rr... --Biff
  2. While looking at the unique use of 1/2 of the push pull throttle I noticed the liquor bottle in the back ground. Classic. Bar pad is optional I suppose. --Biff
  3. Three things off the top of my head: 1. pedal size that affects feel. 2. fulcrum point which can affect travel and amount of pressure applied. (short travel, long travel, more assist less assist) 3. Weight and design could be improved as well keeping it out of the way yet reliable. Just food for thought. --Biff
  4. Here's one for you Leo. What about a rear brake lever? --Biff
  5. Thank you every one! We plan on residing in europe together. We are very happy together and its through getting to know each other from common interests. We can confirm that we are by far the same person but thats a good thing. I am the hap hazzard American and shes the walk the line German. We have been together for about four years now and we have several foundations. 1. Be honest... its not easy to put those cards on the table but when you get a two and the checker asks if its a one just come clean... its a two and you will sleep better at night. 2. Be humble.... some times you just have to admit that you are not as cool as you think you are. 3. Be gratious.... when you see your wife or signifacant other making a gesture it takes very little to just be thank full. 4. Apologize.... we generally dont always get it right every time. Every one is aloud a bad day so err on the side of forgiveness. 5. Focus on the good.... when you are seperate don't be sad but focus on the next time you get to be together. Ok so enough about that mushy stuff. Let me get into the wedding part from my perspective. So if any prospective newly weds need a tip on how to make it legal within 25 minutes there is two words "Toledo" "Ohio". Just recite and your problems will be resolved. Any one who has waited for license plates in the US can attest that getting married within 25 minutes beats that process. Legalities aside we chose the TTC as our wedding location. They had never had a wedding before so this was new to them. We did the diy proposal with them only needing to source us some hay bales for guests. Our attendies were gratious but close. (Sorry andy we knew you were afraid of the wild life here so we thought we would spare you the embarrassment). Family and close friends along with a stress free event was our focus. The TTC opened their doirs to us and we thank them. We thank all of you for your warm words and congrats. We want to especially thank zippy wo has always been an unbiased friend along with other WGASA members: Roberto Jethero Snickers Mont Kunio Dad Mom Helga Mom Eckhardt Dad Krystof Drunk Brad Storm pooper All of my sisters All of my nieces and nephews Baby leena Gabe the coolest trials rider who doesnt know it yet. Mike and Vanessa for keeping me in check. Jillian who single handedly scared all wild life away from ttc for more than a month due to a hike to lampkins falls. JENJEN! Whos the wife of Jethro and the olny causalty of the event. (Who breaks their foot at a campfire?.... ohhh tgats right) Big mark whos usually the gimp. Fang who you cant be with out as the token "well would you look at that!!!" Guy Louie H. Knapp the cat wo has to put up with an alergic wife now. Nichole and Andreas who wonder why this sister of theres have commited to this silly Murican! The schafers who made the wedding cery very entertaining whime also being great support for martina in this weird weird land. Boris for being martinas movie buddy. Chrystal for being martinas go to girl. Yano and Suzie for being there for us at all hours. Sean aka uncle bob (no relation) for marrying us and veing a great friend. For andy in hosting and maintaining this great website. For cope in letting me hold his beer whike he weeps a bit (no guarantees in getting the same volume back) For mitch the bitch in being a great minder of the past For the various stores that keep our bikes going here in the states. For those eu stores that keep us going when we cant find better prices or availability. For Aluxsuv for the well wishes. (I noticed that her boots on the rock were of an unknown kind and almost for got my lines) To Guys i will see you soon most likely. For mattylad for questioning why an american trials rider was in luxembourg a few years ago. (Hold onto your boots cause hes bound to show up again frequently) nice bike btw. Ok so now the next bitt.... Biff needs to unload crap and make his way to Deutschland. The time line is not established but i will be consumed with doing so for several months. I feel obligated to vote in the next us election and my move wont be ant time soon. Again thank you all for your kind words and we ard both glad to be a big part of the trials family... --Fanticmatze and Biffsgasgas
  6. Uhhhh nope... We have several. We just get along better that's all.... sometimes. --Biff
  7. I haven't heard of a modern bike needing 50:1. Is this recommended by TRS? I run 80:1 in my GasGas. Edit: This is what the owners guide says. "Fuel: Petrol 2.3L 98 2T oil 1.0%" which is 100:1. --Biff
  8. In a pinch i have done the manila folder gasket made from a trace too. --Biff
  9. I here you Axulsuv... I miss my Miata for that reason. I expect you to ride in a Hamster suit now... So as for advertising I am in a high crime area (Being in the Detroit metro area) yet I am also in the Motor city where the common object of desire is the car. Yea I shouldn't advertise but I also know that trials bikes aren't really the desired object mostly because 99% don't know what it is here. On top of that I also emanate a bit of that mad max don't eff with me vibe when it comes to my vehicles. Not the most ideal but i haven't had a problem except for one unlocked trials bicycle on the back of my car parked in Detroit. Not the topic of conversation.... Crusoe123-- The mat for pix scan just helps the software get a sense of proportion. It calibrates off of the corners and larger blocks which helps the machine calibrate. I took a smart phone pic and then loaded it to the PC. The software then imports the pic and shows me what I am looking to cut. I had to use the trace feature for the cut lines and then had to clean up the image because it saw some of the dirt that was on this used gasket. It literally took me 10 minutes to clean up the cut lines. I did a test cut in vinyl which i have a ton of (sign shops throw this stuff in the dumpster so there is your ticket to free vinyl. Just ask!) PixScan is just a way for the machine to get the dimensions of your picture. The cutting blade is adjustable and sits in the machine. I am using the heavy card stock setting for cutting and it worked first shot. Pics to follow. Feetupfun-- I too have a Cricut to make some iron on's and generic stickers but since i got this machine that has been sidelined. It is one of the older cartidge style versions but it didn't give me the freedom that this one does. I still use the cricut mats because they are just better. 12x24 inches. It hasn't broken yet but JoAnn fabrics here in the states has a ton of available parts. I have extra blades and mats but the one thing I will say is that when you wad up a decal it is really hard to get rid of the residue. I came up with a way on my own by running a foam mat covered in isopropyl alcohol through the machine but I can see that at some point it might not be viable. For gasket material there really is no risk other than the pain of not cutting deep enough which shouldn't really affect the machine. Ok so some more pics... Here is an out of focus blade that goes in the cutting head. Here is the machine... (poor ******* hasn't had a day off since i bought it) This is the cutting head. (can also be used with a pen kit to print rather than cut. cutter head can also cut stamps and fabric) Here is the software that I am using.... Here is the traced image that i got from scanning in my old gasket. (red lines are the cut lines) --Biff
  10. For those that know me or have seen my vehicles they know that I have a small sticker addiction. A fellow trials riders wife turned me onto a little evil machine that allows me free rain to get any decal I want on demand. I am not into tattoos so I guess this is the way of me expressing myself. Case in point the van back glass. (note picture is outdated but read on) So here I am Friday night and I have plenty of other constructive things that I should be doing and I cant turn my engineering brain off so I head to my local craft store to enhance an already cool machine. By enhance I have enabled myself to create my own gaskets on demand. Let me explain. My particular machine is a Silhouette Cameo 2. This is targeted toward the scrap booking ladies and wall art diy crafters.... but they had no idea how evil this little machine is in the hands of someone like myself.... Here is an old clutch cover gasket for a GasGas.... I place it on this replicator pad that measures the thing I have put on it with the given software for the machine.... I have to use the software to trace out the part and walla i have created my own gasket on demand. Here is a test cut in adhesive vinyl... and here is a test cut in card stock.... Just to see if I was successful I have taken an old cracked clutch cover and did a mockup and its dimensionally accurate. Sooooo is anyone else doing this? Q&A time: Q: Biff was it expensive? A: No not really but it was more than a gasket. I have multiple reasons for owning one which includes a full blown addiction to stickers. Q: Do you think other trials riders have these in their house not knowing what it can do? A: I am pretty sure that someone will read this and start becoming interested in that little crafty machine that their wives or girlfriends have.... Q: Where do you get gasket material? A: I can't speak for other nations but most auto parts stores here in the US sell sheets of gasket paper. Q: How long did it take you to get used to your machine? A: Well i am pretty tech savvy however I will tell you that not everything i have tried to cut was perfect. Most of what I cut is adhesive vinyl and i have had a couple of times where the whole thing wads up into a giant mess. I have gotten really good at learning how to clean this thing and setting up blade depth. I would suggest practicing on non expensive material first before you try and go full out. Q: How portable is this thing? A: sits on my kitchen table. Q: What dimensions can you cut? A: It says i can cut 12 inches by 120 inches. I haven't tried anything that large and the largest I have cut is 2 feet by 10 inches. Q: Any experience you can pass along? A: About the only thing that I don't like about the machine is the mats that come with it. You don't need to use a mat to cut but when you use the OEM ones they seem to not be thick enough. I use mats from a competitor to the machine that i have and it works much better. Q: Where do you get one of these things? A: Here in the states there are several big chain craft stores that have them but I got mine refurished on Amazon. Q: What if you don't have an old gasket? A: You might be able to trace the thing you want to gasket up as an alternative. If you do that you can always cut using scissors or a blade but this is so much cooler. Well there you have it. Gaskets on demand ala WGASA. --Biff
  11. They are a bear to remove. So I made the Mrs do it since its her bike anyway. we basically used a screw in the seal and pried it out. --Biff
  12. The bronze bushing on the outside also helps support the shaft. I am not sure if your new pump came with one. The spring should be facing the coolant and what i usually do is press the impeller back into the seal to butt the seal up against the circlip. If the seal is in a little sideways it will never seal. --Biff
  13. I call mine Biffs-bits-box. I am a firm believer of "if you bring it you probably do not need it". -Biff
  14. Ahh you mean my only skill set... gotcha. --Biff
  15. Uggg no one wants to see a shirtless Biff --everyone
  16. Now hold on a second here. I have broken that tab off before. Same root cause as the broken cases. The tab could give way as much as the cases. The older pros had a much weaker tab. The root cause that I have seen is that the skid pan is lose or really bashed under tension. It pushes the tab and the cases apart. With the system under stress something has to give. Pull the engine out and if its fine then check the swing arm axle and back of the engine pinch bolts. Weld it up if its just the frame and count your blessings that it was just that. --Biff
  17. It is a rare occasion these days to meet someone who hits that "Trials Lotto". What is this "Trials Lotto" I speak of? Well simply put it is when you have the opportunity to ride more or different things than you were able to with out overhauling your life. In this story it is something very similar for a good friend of mine ZippysGasGas... See not too long ago he moved into another house. He has been really busy working on it and around the property in general. A few months back he started talking about having a few trees dropped... Well we have all had a few trees and logs placed in the yard so I don't think any of us gave it too much thought on what he was trying to say. I had even been over to his new place a few times to consume a beer or two but didn't notice what he was talking about. So about a month ago he sent us all a bunch of pictures of a huge logging company who came in to do the dirty deed. Again pictures didn't really do it justice. Riding season took hold and we have all really been just doing our thing in our regular areas. Then a few weeks ago I borrowed his enduro bike to go tear up the woods. Upon returning the bike I discovered that I and the rest of us had clearly mis-understood what had happened to our friend here. He hit the Trials Lottery! Now with the Trials Lottery you have to manage your resources. There is the Mrs... She needs to be kept happy while you plan around things. Then there are other resources such as moving devices, beer, moving help, more beer and finally some water to offset the beer. Well for all intensive purposes our friend Zippy here has landed dead on with every resource. His Mrs. has let us tear up the lawn with a rented BobCat. It was very humid yesterday and we all got very worn out but it is an epic playground. The stumps alone have to be 6 feet (2M) tall just from the ground level. Thanks for a fun Sunday Zippy and congrats! Don't let all of your fame and fortune go to your head! --Biff
  18. Awesome property and great venue! Hope every one had a great time. --Biff

  20. I know right?!?! Well i gotta tell ya... This past summer I took the bait and decided it was about time to go and taste the canadian bacon.... A not that long time rider, slash old timer, and i went and crashed an amature trials association event. It was part of my endless trials saga. We spent a significant amount of money getting there and signing up, but we met some great riders and enjoyed an awesome hippy trip. My co rider was in nam so we got a ton of stories and the vantastic did great. I will post a larger story in "general" but the moral here is that the 22 riders from canada were happy to have us. They dont care about this squabble. They will be happy when its over. I hope those that this stupid canada unison slash power struggle thing will end as do others. I dunno what it will take but i am guessing some people will need to open their minds to co ownership. Look out for the "endless trials summer" post... Just got off a bike.... --biff aka cma member now
  21. OMG I have been riding my new Beta for the past couple of weeks.... Most mornings I can not wait to take a spin on it... Sitting down as it warms up is preferable. I have to say that its not to uncomfortable.... very very rigid. after i have had several hours to gain my own balance I can ride it standing up. Most trials riders need that good morning cup of coffee to get their sea legs (tea for those islanders). Had a couple of US pros take a ride on her the other week to validate its true skill set and apparently it does not disappoint. I really really like the new white shiny graphics! I gotta say that they make it look really really clean... For those that know me i am a diehard GasGas fan when i ride trials but every morning when I get on my Beta i find a sense of release that GasGas can not provide. Its a glorious release of tension.... May I present to you my new ride... Seat up isn't the normal setup... I usually run rain mode.... --Biff
  22. Because it breads consistancy and helps a company identify weak links. I ts hard enough to be unique in this world with out repeating mistakes. Its also easier to make money when you order in bulk. Two companies using the same powertrain.... Its a no brainer. If honda puts the same shift lever or oil pump on every bike montesa wins... I use yz125 shift levers on scorpas... --biff
