  1. The left hand throttle on the old shovel head Harleys i have seen controls ignition timing. I am not a Harley guy but I have heard some stories about kicking the bike over and turning that second grip incorrectly. --Biff
  2. The Wife got me one of the coolest Christmas/Weihnachten gifts ever. A two day riding camp with Adam Raga!!! I got my bu.. kicked by my instructor Max Faude (125CC 2nd place last year). She even treated me to a new to me 2014 factory edition... https://youtu.be/T9viKV81h3s Thank you MTC Saar Lebach for being great hosts. Thank you Univega for setting this up. My arms are jello now. --Biff
  3. The orginal yamaha based sy 250 was a bear for me to findbon the mrs bike. Current importer here in the states said good luck. I tried several automotive grade sones before i bought an oem replacement from tribulations in the uk. --Biff
  4. On my way to europe for a two day riding camp but spending a night here on the way. --Biff
  5. The place in indiana you speak of is rising sun. Its snells business and they were the parts importer before the change over. If you are in the states talk to trials store usa. They have what you need. Measure your stack height and i use type f atf non synthetic when using a new clutch. --Biff
  6. I have seen many a bike leave this earth due to run away with out teather. Team WGASA has a "Nancy". If you break, forget or bitch about your teather you get a "Nancy". Its a teather made out of a bra strap. Team VVANKER last weekend wanted to one up this with a garter. I see your call and one up you fine sirs and ladies. --Biff
  7. Like zippy here i also ride the MOTA 12 but also do some nationals and the odd event out side of the norm. Last year i rode my first CMA event in 20 years. I rode a D4 on a whim just to re-live my youth. Ive ridden fun events in luxembourg and germany with the wife. Last weekend i rode in florida just to get away from it all. Im 40 now and started when i was 8 on a tl125. I like to practice a bunch but usually its once a week. There have been years where i ride a ton but get burnt out. I ride our expert class here in michigan. I try to push myself into champ class when ever possible but to be honest I will flog my way through that as well. Germany i am a green/strong green class rider. The mrs makes me ride a class up. I dont ride for trophys. I ride for those moments of grandure. This year i have most of my rides planned out already with a few bucket list todo's. 1. MOTA series 2. Ohio national ES 3. Rhode Island national ES 4. FTA last weekend in champ class (tied up last place woot!) 5. This weekend up comming Lebach Germany 2 day training with "The Destroyer!" DANKE MTC SAAR!!! 6. Minder for the wife in womans B class kingman Arizona Bucket list todos this year: 1. Nitro event 2. Another CMA event 3. Maybe another 3d event in New York 4. Maybe a D4 event if i am in town 5. Maybe the miller ranch trial in the niagra trial region 6. Maybe any event in the EU as soon as i move there. I am also very oval approaching round. --Biff PS look for quality not quantity. PPS we are also doing a cobra moto TTC thing the weekend of March 17th. Teach mx boys about trials.
  8. I think you need to pop on up to michigan for a few days along the way... --biff
  9. Most of us know torrot. They have been an electric bike manufacture for some time now. They did JUST buy gasgas and haven't had their time to prove themselves in the world of trials. You have oset which has been around for a long time that has developed a really good machine and following. You have mecatechno who have been really strong with a neat design for the past couple of years. You have the beta e line which isnt selling horrible. Then keuber (sp?) which makes a cheap alternative. Now you have the torrot/gasgas which looks to be an off shoot of the gasgas e kids bike from a few years ago. Kids have options these days. --biff
  10. I have four ty175s at the house and Eyore is correct in the 76 being aluminum. One really easy way to tell is see if a fridge magnet sticks to it. If not you have aluminum. If so then you have an extremely clean steel tank. Your paint looks good. I have repainted most of my tanks with Chevy Orange engine paint and an off white cream. Mine are not concurs but like yourself i enjoy doing body work. --Biff PS a magnet can also help find any bondo or body filler if present.
  11. I have seen temp sensitive stickers on cylinders to detect cylinder temp. No alarm along with it unless you look at the decal and shout out an explicit. --Biff
  12. Gotta love the drum duo.... who uses the crowd to do a toilet seat trash can solo??? Props!!! --Biff
  13. So I haven't seen it commented on here. Did Bou come off of a yellow bin backwards with a foot down for a one? I wasn't there obviously but it looked like he had a foot down rolling backwards. I will try a screen shot. --Biff
  14. Sorry im a day late... rock on! --Biff
  15. I am having my buddy who created this cool thing print me up a GasGas flywheel cover with WGASA logo imprinted. The shock plate that he uses is really neat for 3D printer users. www.detroitdelta.com --Biff
  16. Yea PA has a ton of top riders and great terrain. I have ridden several events in Morgan Town WV just south of you and we even hold nationals just to the west of you there near Wheeling WV in Ohio. Heck just the other week i was riding just south Breezewood not to far from where you are located. Williamsport and state college are known for their riders and riding. --Biff
  17. Time for a chain and set of sprckets... --Biff
  18. Yes happy belated birthday axulsuv!!!! --biff
  19. After witnessing two of the Randonne JianShe powered bikes implode within moments after being started, it has me thinking. Has anyone tried transplanting one of the Yamaha based Scorpa power plants for the Randonne versions. Here is the JainShe engine that has questionable quality characteristics: Here is the Randonne with that power plant and electric start: And here is the Yamaha based Scorpa with the non electric start power plant: I have ridden a few "hopped up" 143 versions of the Scorpa and its nice. I really don't enough about the gearing, clutch and flywheel between the yamaha TTR, YBR and Scorpa to tell you whats different but If you combine a good power plant from a Scropa into the frame of the GasGas Randonne you might have a really cool piece of kit. --Biff
  20. At the recent trials held at the USA AMA museum it was anounced that the Helmet laws for AMA members will be tightened. I have several dozen helmets here in the us and one on europe. The rules are similar for both regions but different in acessibility. Here in the states the two authorities on helmets are the department of transportation aka DOT and Snell rating (probably no relation to the trs importer). Snell ratings are done by callendar by callendar year and are generally enforced by the auto racing officals. DOT is a bit of a farce here because you can buy a helmet and it might have a dot decal on it but tge governing body isnt really paying attention. I have purchased $20 dot helmets. Yea im not cool like that. In my state and numerous others a helmet isnt even required so i consider "something" better than nothing. Here in the states i can go to a store at midnight on a sunday or saturday and buy a trials legal helmet. Our big box stores here never close.... to be honest i can usually buy helmet, gear and hardware 24 hours 7 days a week here. Of course its not trials specific or branded but it wil allow me to ride on sunday because a bolt is a bolt and gear is just as protective as you make it. Now the picture you posted is of Logan who i met as a todler and his dad louie is an awesome person. I cant speek as a rep of Logan but i have asked about the full face and it gives him confidence. I draw parellels to spine protectors in europe. Only a hand full of riders here use spine protectors. Virtually every EU rider i meet use spine protectors. I have one by optima. In trials here we just ask that you try and protect your noggin. I know of your sean hes a good guy. If you show up in the usa and need a helmet or boots just ask around. We will point you toward a resource. --Biff
  21. Omg Cascao you are clinically insane. Hats off to you sir. Love the fact that i am not the only barefooted person in the workshop. Cant wait to see your next project. --Biff
  22. The Pampera of the 90's and early 00's was more based on the water cooled Hiro trials engine. I think the EC from that era was heavily modified if it was based on the orignal Hiro design. Correct me anyone if i am wrong. We have several other experts.... --Biff
  23. The air box should be filled with batteries. Make the old carb connection a plug and be done with it. A gasgas air box could go on and off in minutes. --Biff
