Thank HondaRS. i do have a slight different take on this and considering the lastest Montesa, Sherco and Scorpa only the Sherco is the right size,why?......
A rider called Eddie Lejune (before my time) rode a 360cc Honda against the then Yamaha 250cc. The extra capacity of this Honda gave the machine a winning edge - does this 'winning edge' theory still play true today?
-
This may have already been covered.... does anyone has an opinion on an optimum CC (capacity) for a modern 4t and why?
-
sceptisism or quality control you have a valid point.
The chain tensioner on my 05 Raga is too flimsey. The chain is flopping about almost untensioned i noticed today, hopefully it will be a recall part.

can't say my 'fuel injected' mont suffers with these problems
-
r2w, that's the 'bikes' the looker in this scenario I like the looks of the Mont 4rt, but that new Scorpa 4t... wow.... has me eye's popping out ,sex on wheels, a Claudia Schiffer of 4-t's to the Mont's Liz Hurley's appeal (and wouldn't say no to neither for a ride . )Very disappointed that Scorpa didn't see the Mont needs more cc's, and Sherco why-o-why has their most advanced piece of tackle taken the look of another pototoe in a sack of a million - colour the rims blue, stick a bit of red on it, it wouldn't take must to change its looks. I've no idea why the Sherco was lumpy and i havn't even seen one in the flesh, which isn't good when the largest dealer in the South East can't be supplied a demo bike! My dream 4t would be the Sherco's engine size - Scorpa's looks - Mont's fuel injection. So perhaps GG will suprise everyone with a 4t Pro that weigh's less than 70kg, has a 350cc fuel injected lump with fancy paint work and a picture of a naked female model on the tank!
sorry, drifting a little with the above....
when you get the new carb, i know its going to impress you in a big way, my GG is still lumpier than my 4rt, but its not as bad as i thought it would be, money well spent if you get it.
-
just joining in on the band wagon Andy....
.....If you stood where all the other photographers were standing you might have had a clear view of the riders face and this importantley would prove fuji 'did' swop his bib and helmet with freixa. Although it could be a double wammy being it was indeed freixa the worlds no 5 actual photographed by you

I havn't used the switch yet. The bike is very trackable in the 'rain mode'?, grip is good and big gears it levels anything. Still running it in and i'm glad the throttle hasne't gone passed half way - little frightened. I swapped the rear tyre for an IRC before i picked it up, i like this brand best, personal preferance.
Comparsion between GG 300 rr and Mont 4rt (i own both). The power of both bikes is, and this is honest, very similar. The Mont has a fast action throttle, but the GG doesn't. Its very easy to switch from bike to bike, but the Mont has the edge on stability and technical sections where as the GG will ROAR up anything with no Revs. The GG hops like a hoppy thing and i was trying things on it yesterday (splats) that i would not dream of on the Mont. My first ride on the GG has left me well impressed, and the lightness is wow 7kgs i think. Funny thing is the GG is marked for its lightness so the sidestands definately coming off

Just to say i have my new bike and me first ride was yesterday. Silly me only went tore a mussel in me leg, so i'm limping around. good news is the missus is waiting on my hand a leg

That's a bit unfair Marky Boy. We all have our own opinions and i'm no better than changing the oil, perhaps a bit like your own abilties. I will say that from my own short experiences of trials and riders, there are a lot of riders who like to 'fettle' with there bikes and this is more than just a chor its a bit of a hobby to these guy's. If i did have the knowledge then learning and working on a new concept 4t would i guess be quite an experience and something to look forward to. I thought for some time why do riders own this older bikes that are in better than showroom condition and the conclusion is the above. Its also a good excuse to get out of the house and away from a screaming brat of a kid!
We researched Ishy, i look forward to your next posting.

Standard bikes are best, I like standard, standard is for me....
.....my message is and without wanting to sound to blunt, if a bike isn't right why buy it in the first place?

....and there was me thinking you must be a young pup needing some guidance, ummm! Your punishment boofont (Mr Smarty Pants ) will be a copy of both series on VHS made available to all on TC. To help you with this task i've found the company who produced the series:
White Rabbit Productions, 94 Creynolds Road, Monkspath, Solihul, West Midlands. B90 4ER. The producer was John G. Smith. The series was shown on Anglian TV.
one other thing, any money made will rightfully be mine and off course good luck boofont, please don't disappoint TC by leading its members up the garden path in the future

A TV series that I think Steve Colley and Steve Saunders rode in the mid 80's. I was very young at the time, but remember it fondly as a top program to watch. It had good prime time ratings and ran to a second series - purely trials.
-
Anyone remember the success of Junior Kick-Start with Peter Purvis?
