  1. You have a picture of it Andy, when we stopped to water the flowers, you took a pic, it's also on your ssdt video. Not that anyone would run trials bikes up a chairlift area anyway What will happen to it! the lodge will become a pub or restraunt, the land will end up being cragratville and anything other than Hiking boots will be banned. It's 495 acre, of useless farm land so no farmer would buy it, if it lost 500 grand per year for the past two years not many will touch the ski side of it, so the parking lot and the buildings will be used and the lifts sold for scrap, the rest will be for looking at only.
  2. The 4 stroke Honda will compete in the Japan world round at the end of May, ridden by Amos, the press will be able to have their way with the cameras and treat us all to some nice pictures of the beast, then that will be it! until it is released to the public in the new model year. You know how the Mont fuel tap is a pain, well that won't be a problem on the 4 banger, a fellow said it doesn't have one! that could only mean one thing, plenty of other little snippets, that will turn heads but I would rather see for myself than be proven wrong in a month's time, what!! all above could be false or culd be true the time to see is getting near.
  3. You have to diversify Hrc, the resorts round here have plenty of snow, and still see it they have to run summer activities to offset the cost of running the ski resort in lean snow years, the other option is to close the resort and have no ski-ing
  4. Perfect facility for WR trials, if it's too spendy to purchase at least the owners need approaching about summer use and other forms of income. Donner is in the same boat, and Ski resorts around mount hood, near me, have 180" snow base at this time of year, still they have many things going in the summer, ski bowl just up the road does mountain biking, alpine slide two concrete half pipe type deals that run down the mountain and you ride a little toboggan on wheels down, go carts , horse riding, bungee jumping the works to get the $$ in.
  5. Once the get wet thru, and the peat stains them, it looks like yer thi pants at Trotters er summet, I wonder what the room staff are thinking when they empty the litter bin in the room and it has pairs of soily brown under pants in em, "ach thats it!! I quit"
  6. The UK doesn't have many ski resorts, which is for sale TT, it could be a chance to buy some top class trials terrain, as a group of people, a ski resort with facilities could earn enough in practice and event fees to offset the expenses and land tax? Where did you see it was forsale Tim, and any mention of cost?
  7. Not getting at you Maximus, but at best trying to diagnose a bike problem online using someone else's description of the symptoms is hard, and why for the most part I don't go near the tech topics, reading your post it could be after 2/3 hours of riding on a lawn mower for all we know. To get one of the tech lads on here to give you the best shot at solving the problem, you need to state all the symptoms, make ,model, hot/cold wet dry, everything possible to give the person doing the guessing the best shot at getting it right, cos that's what it is! a educated guess at best.
  8. Ryan young products USA, is sponsoring me and supplying the bike, it will be taken to the event in the factory truck, then back to the factory after the event, then shipped to Ryan as a new bike would be. I take one pair of boots, once they are wet that's it for the week they stay wet, I will buy a new helmet this year as mine is getting along a bit so wait till I get there to buy one. four pair of riding pants, four shirts, waterproof gear, jeans and T shirts for social, I buy a twelve pack of new socks same for undies and toss the buggers after 1 days trial, and some real thick wool socks for if it's looking cold and wet.
  9. Once Raga, hit form he didn't look back in the indoors, even in 97 Doug said some riders go for it more than me, and he said he rode then with a bit more caution than others. I think once the realism that Raga, had it sewn up, it would be foolish to go all out and risk injury. All credit to Raga on his 2nd world indoor championship, but the real trials start soon and we will see if his form carries over to the outdoors, plus Frexia and Fuji, aren't going to lie down and hand it to him either, should be a great year with any of the names mentioned in with a shot at the world championship, I still have plenty of confidence in our man Doug, to put the best rider of all time question to bed once and for all.
  10. They wear them most in dry conditions Gav, following other riders round the loop kicks up a lot of dust, often the minder and other team riders go behind so they eat the dust not the main man. Doug, often gets nose bleeds, when he was over here early nineties, for no reason his nose would just start bleeding, and I have seen it happen often since then.
  11. Dear disgruntled from Leeds, the sticker that fits on the seat can be reused, make sure it's warm air dryer or at least room temp, then start at the pointed end and gently peel, use a bit of trim adhesive to stick it on the new fender, I haven't tried the heat shield but if it's in good nick I bet thi can do the same with that also. The reason they don't come with the stickers is they are less expensive that way, and the same fender fits many years but the sticker is not the same for each year.
  12. Steve I called Bill, and arranged to collect the Coil at the scottish as he will be there, the coils are exchange only, so if you want one I need one of you to echange, also he has fantic clothing in stock, so tha needs to send me a big pile of cash if you expect me to fix you up

  14. Andy, I was thinking of taking my digital camara to Scotland for use in about Fort william, when I'm not riding, if I save pictures to the memory card would you have the capability to download them the same day for TC. The card is a smartmedia M-32pe/3.3v 32 mb
  15. Anyone got a number or email for Bill Pye, I'll give him a call see if he can fix me up with one.
  16. Just trying to hold the little baby down putting all sorts of power to the back wheel she was
  17. I suppose it's a different game when you have been doing it for a living for twenty years, not like pulling the bike out of the shed for bit of fun on a sunday. Hope after some time off we will see him back out doing it for a bit of fun.
  18. A Mate of mine had left a bike with me, to sell if possible while he was away. Yesterday afternoon a chap came and bought it and was quite pleased with the bike. This morning I got up and checked the old email, and find this email from the chap who bought the bike. [Q] chap who bought the bike. Thought I'd send you an up-date. Got over to Kyles and was showing his Dad the bikes. Had the Sherco off the trailer and did a few small wheelies and Kyle said he wanted to give it a try .... I said okay and got him the helmet and emphasized just put around don't give it any gas, that my first time out I went right to emergency (to say no would show a lack of trust). He made a couple of passes around the lawn and thought he'd go around his Mom's car, he was getting a little cocky when I reminded him not to give it any gas. Well it got away from him, he shot forward and put a crease all the way down his Mom's car and tore off the mirror then the bike shot into the garage and slammed into four bicycles that were stacked there (I think he bent them all). Kyle wasn't hurt but he has a little more respect for the girls bike that just puts around. The Sherco came out of it okay, no more than I would have done on my first crash out in the woods. It takes a while to learn throttle control ... I should have let him do it on the Beta and someplace more open like Washougal, you sure can't learn it unless your doing it, say what you want you have to experience the power before people believe you. It was one of those learning experiences ... glad we all walked away from it with no more than bruised ego's. well at least it wasn't a bike problem, but point the buggers away from bodies and autos next time.
  19. Sparky, I still want the skid plate for the Fantic, can tha get it to Fort william? So you don't sound like you want to part with the tlr, twin shock, I need a sound road reg bike to leave over there for mi odd trip over to ride now and again.
  20. Twin shock, do you want to sell that bugger, I will throw in a seeley to sweeten the deal

  22. Once there were three classes and one line, trials would have a mixture of sections from easy to hard, and some trials were set for the better riders and some for the lesser ability riders. Then some dude thought it would be a good idea to add choice! another line, which in affect added more classes, but I notice a lot more whining now then back then, the truth is! instead of striving to improve it's easier to whine and get thing changed to make up for our lack of ability. Three classes are enough if the events are set for the majority of riders riding it, bigger the event tougher the sections from club to world-round, no one would dare to make something simple though, and what will happen in the future, is more classes and lines will be added until it will dilute the sport into a farce and many classes will only have one or two riders, like age classes every five years. The U.S. can boast of a championship of 15 individual classes, but since they moved from a championship when only a few classes competed they have never had anyone actively competing in world championship trials. To me it looks like trials in the UK is heading the same way. I think we are getting soft and lazy
