Have heard today from a very reliable source in Silsden, that Addingham is now definately CLOSED!!!!
It seems that the minority and burocracy have won through again.
Give it 5 years and we'll all be riding through skips in car parks every sunday!

Lets hope it does'nt live up to its reputation!
Could be really good trial, cos the venue is good.
Just need to go over the rocks instead of round them.
At the end of the day it is a 'British Championship'

No results on web site cos I think Boydy does results and he's been away on't lash.
Just have to wait for snail mail!!
-
In the Juniors I think we have 1/2 a chance for the top 3!
Browny 1st
Sam Haslam on the Factory Scorpa 250 2nd
possibly Wiggy 3rd, if the 125 will stand the thrashin its gonna get!!
I have'nt had a good look at the Youths, but Ross Danby has to be a good bet for the win.
In the big boys, the favourite has to be Bou, if he can carry his consistency Indoors to Outdoors.
2nd Fujinami, cos he would have won it this year if not for the early season injury.
3rd Cabestany or Lampkin.
Hopefully Raga will completely lose the plot cos he's gettin thrashed by the bloke who was second choice to him on the Montesa, but he took the safe option & stayed with Gas Gas.

Good answer!
If it is true then it sort defeats the object of 'trials'
'man and machine versus obstacle'.
'man on machine controlled by computer' does'nt seem to have the same ring to it!!!!
On the plus side, we could all be potential super stars if we have the balls to hang on.
-
I did sorry John!!!
But all I am asking about is purely the British Championship, as has already been said, the FIM in local events etc, just would not work in my view.
But has to continue in the Blue Riband Championship of British Trials.
Lets give our lads a chance on the continent,
-
Thanks John for your reply.
Having read the replies to this post, it seems, as someone has already said, that the majority of poeple who are against the full FIM in the BTC, are in no way involved in it
The ACU should listen to the riders on this occasion, and let them have what they want for a change.
We have some very talented riders in this country, the least that the ACU can do is let them have a Championship which they can use as a stepping stone to greater things, for those that prefer the more traditional type of event, they have the Novogar series, so why can't the elite have one for them running under the WTC rules, whatever they may be at the time.
Please can we let common sense win on this occasion and not let beurocracy bugger it up .
Cheers.

I have heard a rumour that the Observing rules for the 2007 British Trials Championship are going to
revert back to the old FIM rules, i.e. stop for a 1 etc.
Is this true?
If so, I personally think that this would be a backward step for the Championship. This was the only opportunity for our top Adults and rising youth stars to hone there skills before venturing into Europe and beyond.
Can anyone shed any light on this? John ??

mmmmmm.
Me & my big mouth!
Oh well, at least it should be nice & sunny in Valencia.
Merry Christmas
-
Ayup,
Where did you get that info from?
Ava good un.
-
Are you avin a laugh?
You struggle gettin a sprinter in there, never mind 1/2 a dozen works trucks?
and then theres Fuji's motorhome!!!!
-
If you got this info off UEM website it has'nt been updated yet & still has this years dates / venues on.
I doubt if they would get another round cos I heard the club was fined for not running the trial properly this year,i.e. bad facilities etc (and they were bad, no showers, toilets, not enough hook up points etc etc).
Hope its not there, don't really want to go to the same place two years on the bounce.
Must say though, the trial itself was'nt bad at all
Good to see another round in Norway, Hobol (just south of Oslo). If the trials as good as the last one we went to in 05, its well worth the long long trip. Its also good because its one of the few events where we have less distance to travel than the Spaniards!!!
-
If that is correct it is a bad decision on the ACU's part, if Richmond applied for around of the A +B you should have got one Perce, cos your round was the best by far.
Just because you set out a proper trial which did'nt "cater for everyone" it seems you are being penalised.
They are supposed to be Nationals / British Championship trials for gods sake!
And in my opinion (for what its worth) that is exactly what you set out
-
Just been looking at the provisional dates for MotoGP next year.
Why is it that Spain gets 3 rounds and everyone else has to make do with 1.
Its the same with trials, the effectively get 3 again, with Portugal and Andorra only a stones throw away.
Is Spain the centre of the universe for Motorcycle Sport as far as the FIM is concerned??????????

DITTO
Why is it that guys seem to be buying perfectly good bikes out of the box then proceeding to try & convert them into fire breathing, un-rideable beasts.
Correct me if I'm wrong but unless you are riding World/Euro or British Championships, you do not need any more power than a standard bike.
-
Jack has just finished his third season of Youth Europeans, culminating in him winning the title this year.
In the three years we have had Zero funding / help from the ACU.
Jack is also in the ACU Academy this year, I seem to remember someone posting on here that Academy riders got a little financial help for overseas events, as yet we have had nothing. All Jack has had from the Academy so far this year is 2 day's training with Jim Lampkin (which was excellent).
I have been reading this thread. Regarding youth funding, you cannot give to every youth who wants to have ride in a European Championship Trial.
In my opinion, for what its worth, funding should only go to riders who are committing themselves to ride the full series of any given Championship in Europe. If the ACU paid the entry (

Salminens History!!!
Knighty will thrash him
Salminen never won every day of the WEC in the same year,
Knighty did this year. He's a machine!!!!!!!
-
At least we will have the pleasure of watching him ride his last event on the Beta.
Sheffield Indoor, as it is before the end of the year.
Can't help thinkin he will have to change his riding style considerably, it took Doug a fair while to adjust, & he never rides owt on the back wheel
-
Thanks for the opportunity to put our views across Mick.
One thing I would like changed is the rule where not all rounds count towards a British Championship,
Whether it be Adult, Youth or any other category for that matter, surely a Championship is about consistency throughout a year, if you have bad day, then it should count.
I am thinking that this is a rule unique only to trials, BSB, Motox etc do not drop a round, why trials?
Regards
Adam Challoner
P.S. some sort of financial help for Youths at International level would'nt go amiss. (I'm not talking thousands, but somthing would be better than nowt)
-
He's in the results, so must have finished the event?
-
Have to disagree with ya there Crosser.
All of the above would just de-professionalise the sport at the top level, Ok maybe they should be restricted to only one minder, but no matter how many minders you've got, the rider still has to ride the Bike!!!
Would Moto Gp be better if Valentino Rossi turned up in a Tranny van, filled his bike up wi fuel & ragged round on road tyres!! I don't think so. I do think that top level trials has got too elitiste, but wat other top level motorsport has'nt? I think once Dougie & co have retired it will find it's own level again, because the FIM are too scared of the established riders to tell them wat to do!
To keep the public interest though, trials has to be a spectacle, to make viewers/spectators go WOW how did he do that on a motorbike, trying to go back in time to the glory days of flat caps & trials wellies won't do that. I don't have the answers, but to me, you should never try & go back.
Anyway, I'm sure we'll be able to discuss it over a pint or few in't Buser sometime.
